      Yeah Israeli people are squatting in Palestinian land, and houses. Where they have no legal rights to, but immediately make up new laws in their own supreme court to justify the squatting as legal! Israeli settlements? I think you mean Israeli squatters standing up to oppressive Palestinian landlords! TBH if Israelis just on average had darker skin/were less Westernized than Palestinians they'd probably unironically argue this way

    Why hasn't anyone taken those squatters to court and question the issue of the law? After all, laws get passed by legislation, but it is the courts that look through the laws and interpret them to see if they match the State's constitution laws and Federal Laws. It is surprising that no one has not challenged this constitutionally at the federal level to get the laws removed from these states. Everyone is so focused on going to court for the housing issues, but the system is not working in that regard. The laws have to be challenged in a different way. The constitutional issues need to be addressed about eminent domain, the castle doctrine, and the government enforcing illegals in the apartments as a violation of the third amendment which is "No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law."

    I hope this is done carefully and not hastily. Care needs to be taken to ensure landlords do not find a new vector to abuse valid tenants. These laws are a mess because they were badly written decades or more ago, and did not consider all of the valid conditions, and are written in legal language, not common language. Legal language is intentionally vague so they can argue over what "is means" and make money off civilians.

    What if you don't have a lease and are paying month to month? Can the Landlord decide that you are now a "squatter" and can be forcibly removed? My guess is not if you can show payment, no. But, what if they increase the rent and you are still paying prior rent amount and looking for a new place? Can the landlord decide to summarily render the tenant homeless? It seems like there are a lot of pitfalls.

    • @Tes7000
      @Tes7000 Před 4 měsíci

      I think the problems you have presented are solvable. A landlord and tenant can do a one month lease, and a tenant should always be able to prove the rent was paid. As such, it is a bad idea to pay rent in cash. I do not have all the specifics on the law and suspect that it does not go far enough, but I do not think this law is set up to just allow landlords to screw tenants over.
