The 5th film in GSMA's Smoky Mountain Explorer Series, "A Place Called Cades Cove" tells the story of life and community, of the establishment of the National Park, and of a living landscape where nature and history share the spotlight. Is there any other place where you can watch a 19th century grist mill in action, thrill at the sight of a bear, and enjoy the breathtaking vistas that welcome visitors back to Cades Cove year after year? This short CZcams video includes a snippet from the film as well as footage featured in the film. To purchase a copy of "A Place Called Cades Cove," visit SmokiesInformation.org/music-videos online or visit a park visitor center on your next trip to the Smokies!

As close to Heaven on earth as you can get without knocking on the pearly gates.......so much natural beauty, such wonderful historic sights. MY favorite place on this earth to visit.

Its so sad to me everyday iam reminded how life that I love is gone and soon my life will also fade away like the past . Cades cove is beautiful. I grew up on a dairy farm all the dairy farms are gone milk prices dropped so low in the 1990s. That was a good honest life . Why does all things that are good have to disappear into the past.

Our state of Tennessee are the ones that turned it into an area for tourists to drive through so they can make money If they hadn’t, then Tennesseans would still be there living around their family’s homesteads

To many visitors for me to enjoy it. Bumper to bumper traffic on a week day. Took me two hours to drive the loop. Had planned to stay the day but cars, exhaust and unrulily people cut my visit short.

That is sad that it is that crowded. I don't think half the visitors actually understand and respect what the park service is trying to preserve. Try walking it once starting at dawn before all the traffic comes. It is a beautiful place when it is silent. I like to go there on Christmas Eve. Hardly anyone there. Almost just you and nature.

Unfortunately the efforts to preserve this land cost people their home's hopefully that story is spot lighted to.

Yep. The descendants of the homesteaders should still own that land. Not the ones profiting from tourism
