I said the same exact thing on WIP about Hassan Reddick. Why not let him play out the contract and get a compensation pick which would have been a third round pick anyway. It makes no sense!

I think howie finna get younger like we kept telling him to on defense. That’s why they sign huff and drafted Nolan last year . Probably banking on one or both them to have a break out year. Might also draft one later in the draft.
Draft picks are a way to stay ahead of the cap, what you would have to give up in draft capital would cripple the Eagles as far as salary cap. No thanks. Better overall players needed on defense and better coaching on both sides of the ball and especially play selection and coaching your QB.

Parsons is the one guy who deserves $30M to play the multidimensional position he plays on the defense. The problem isn't the money; the problem is the draft compensation to be paid to the Cowboys. If they ask for a king's ransom in picks, then risk him staying with Dallas and see if he makes it to free agency. If the Eagles do well this season, and if the defense gets mostly fixed so that it isn't the problem it was last season, then Philly could be a place he wants to be. I think he's that good - teams have to gameplan specifically against him every week and devote a lot assets to trying to neutralize him. With the monsters the Birds have in the middle of the defensive line, Parsons would have a field day against most offenses, and that doesn't consider all the other defensive line talent the Birds have. As for Reddick, he was going to be a distraction not getting a new contract, and you all are fools if you think he was gonna be a great performer - he played like crap the last 6 games of last season; that's all you need to know... he quit on the team when things started going south or he's just not as good as you all keep claiming he is (this guy disappears during stretches of the season, picking up bunch sacks against some bad teams). He wasn't the only one who played bad, but that was a historically bad defense the second half of last season, and he wasn't even worth $15M at the end of last season. Get over Reddick.
