- I gave my parents a bedroom makeover this summer with a custom DIY board and batten wall... and the before and after is epic!
I am so grateful to my amazing friends at The Home Depot for helping me make this space come to life for my parents! This space was easy to make possible with their in-app paint calculator & how-to section! My mom super inspired by the style guides on The Home Depot app and was able to choose and visualize each piece in the room!

Sam, I teared up. It was not only so beautiful but it's so touching how connected you guys are to each other. As a father of two, it gave me a warm feeling inside. Also, I never knew about that tape for carpet. That's pretty cool stuff.

Wow, the room looks amazing. I love, love, love the gray wall. It makes the ceiling look higher thus making the room look larger. And can we talk about the gorgeous rug? What a shame the bed covers most of it up. Outstanding decor picks, especially the lamps. The only thing I would do differently is extend the curtain rods past the edge of those narrow windows a bit more to make them appear wider. You are an amazing daughter to do this for your parents. They obviously raised you right.

Did you trace the tape before removing so you know where to place the boards?
nice makeover. One moment though, if i may, the curtain looks too short and too cramp. If you pick a wider rod and also put it a bit higher to the ceiling it will make the window appear bigger and would fit more to the room and to the furniture
Didn’t want to hang them much higher than that cause the ceilings are vaulted.
Your dad is adorable. You did a great job on the bedroom. But, the basket link doesn't show the ones under the floating tv credenza. Where did you get those?

I'm on the "hunt" for one but would prefer someone's testament to if it worked well for their purpose and what brand it is. Do you think painting and sanding the radiator covers was worth it? I am weighing the options...refinish, replace, get new covers like neatheat or baseboarders..
Thank you! 100% worth it! The boards were a total mess and had years of other paint colors on them. This brightened them up sooo much. Did it in the guest room too!
They’re really not too hard to replace if you can find the same ones. The ones sam has are Slant Fin, which are common in this area because they’re made on Long Island. They are available as empty housings at Home Depot.
@@jeremyspecce yo! Thanks man. Yeah I tried sanding and refinishing one..took forever and still looks meh. Those products that cover them and look more modern seem stupidly expensive. Will be opting for replacing, as we have slant fins as well
Right… but it’s not the front boards (that are easy to replace) that were the problem in their case… it was the actual housing that was attached to wall. It was covered in years of other colors. They also don’t come in specific colors. So, if you’re looking for a particular style, then painting is the way to go. As long as they are primed and then painted with a foam roller, they look awesome and hold up really well.

What is this thing that ladies have for pillows? Nine pillows on the bed??? My wife would probably have put twelve. We have this 'pillow excess' thing all over our house and I cannot understand if. '
