Mostly solid theory, but doesn't the ending to Crash 4 confirm that this is a branch off from N.Sane Trilogy BECAUSE Crash 4 Crash is what kicked off the events by screwing up the Cortex Vortex, essentially creating an endless loop paradox that could potentially lead to their own version of events after the initial first game? In order for this to happen Cortex went back to 1996 of his OWN timeline to make this happen. I'd like to propose that the jorts line was more of a nod that the N.Sane Trilogy + Crash 4 is it's own new timeline ENTIRELY given that N Sane Crash doesn't wear jorts. He wears beach shorts. It's the OG Crash that came from the original PS1 trilogy-Twinsanity that wears the jorts. Denim texture and all.

I love this video and theory. Mainly because it makes a lot of sense, and there is so much proof that we can basically call it canon IF we wanted without the games telling us it is. Once you defeat N. Trophy in Crash 3 he says "My time is up... but yours soon will be to!". I think N. Tropy was 100% aware and knew of everything that was going to occur after Crash 3. After all he is able to go anywhere at any time. In Twinsanity Cortex even invents the Psychetron which is capable of taking anyone and ANYTHING to any dimension. It's even able to bring anything from any dimension to the current dimension. The Psychetron is even capable of CREATING dimensions or twisted realities (mainly due to it being highly unstable) as seen in the cut Gone Coco level. We even learn in Twinsanity that cortex has been experimenting with time and dimensions since he was in SCHOOL... Let's not even get started on Coco's machine in Wrath of Cortex and what it does. Just the thought that the Crash we see in Crash 4 isn't the original Crash is mind blowing. There's absolutely no way the devs of Crash 4 weren't aware of any of this while working on Crash 4. Knowing all of this and looking back at the 100% ending of Crash 4 makes that short and simple ending a lot more meaningful than it really is seeing Uka Uka simply laugh as he awakened.

    Original Crash is standard.
    Titan/Mutant Crash uses monsters.
Time Crash uses the Quantum Masks.
    Skylanders Crash talks.
Evil Crash is for hard mode.
    WoC Crash uses the Elementals.
    And so on.

  • @Crow_Rising
    @Crow_Rising Před 2 lety +3

Each time split has the potential to split even further. For example, let's say that for some reason Crash collecting the crystals in the Medieval levels doesn't prevent N. Tropy or Crash himself from existing in that timeline. Eventually, the events of Crash Warped would happen in their version of history, with it's own set of resulting time splits.
This could also tie into the theory of every death in video games during gameplay are canon, and the outcome in which the player doesn't die is it's own separate timeline. This would mean there's a timeline where N.Tropy succeeds at stopping Crash and takes back the crystals. It would also mean there's a timeline where Crash hardly takes a few steps on N.Sanity Beach before meeting an untimely end, with Cortex going on to rule the world.
Something else worth pointing out is the version of events we see in Crash 4 relating to Cortex creating Crash are the N.Sane version. This could imply that Crash 4 Crash is actually original 90's Crash fresh off the events of Crash Warped on PS1, and the N.Sane Trilogy version of events takes place in the new timeline created by Crash 4.
All this combined could mean that there truly is an infinite number of alternative timelines, some more drastically different than others.

  • @AbdulTheArabicGuy
    @AbdulTheArabicGuy Před 2 lety +55

I feel like the whole ideology behind different timelines in different dimensions is indicated within R&C: Rift Apart, because when you're playing as Clank in the dimensional puzzles, you are evidently given an explanation of all the different possibilities before they happen, as they are happening, and after they had happened. All these different possibilities would in turn solidify into a few or a set amount of possibilities that lead to the very next thing, which in Clank's mini-game's case, the next stage of the puzzle to destroy or close down those rift vortexes around the planet(s). With that said, the whole video properly alludes to this concept, and kind of makes it true in that extent.
    P.S.: I like Crash Bandicoot.

Mate, there's a much EARLIER part of the timeline that can cause a new branch to be created: the original Crash Bandicoot's endings. Yes. I said *endings.*
Because, yes, while time travel is one way to generate new timelines... so is *choice.*
And in the original Crash Bandicoot, there is a choice that the player has to choose between one of two endings if they have 100% or not. And it really is a choice; not like almost every other game where, if you have 100%, the standard ending is locked out for good. You HAVE to commit to that ending now; you don't get an option.
As for Crash Bandicoot 1, neither ending coincides with the other in any capacity - but there IS interference. As a result, one ending results in one timeline of events, the other will lead to a whole new story. Think about it: in the 100% ending, Cortex wasn't defeated by Crash and by butterfly effect fall into the cavern where he found the Master Crystal. So the events of Crash 2 could NOT have happened, and by default the games that followed.
For example, look at the Henry Stickmin Collection and how it handles different timelines. With Chapters 3 and 4, the endings you choose there create an ENTIRELY different story for the final Chapter. And even if some of them do end similarly, they are all unique and play out differently. So if we apply the same logic to Crash, we have the PERFECT opportunity using Crash Bandicoot 1 to split the timeline and keep all of the games relevant. It's also a much easier explanation for people to process if they ever chose to do something with it.
    ...
Better than outright retconning games and pretending they never existed.
    I mean...
    *How hard can it be?*

  • @clownymoosebean
    @clownymoosebean Před 2 lety +3

    You wanna get real crazy?
Crash Team Racing is the ULTIMATE Timeline Tangling Mess!
All Characters from across all games, and therefore, all timelines, come together just to have a bit of fun, which would totally be incredibly dangerous, IF there weren't also an infinite amount of N. Trophy's also joining in on the shenanigans WHILE keeping the multiverse from falling apart. Pretty reckless, but at least we're having fun!
    Now ponder this.
Every time you do a Time Trial, you create a new 'Ghost', and therefore, a new timeline, which is layered on top of the next new timeline for the purpose of seeing if you can go faster.
Somewhere along the way, you are challenged by the time ghosts of Trophy, Oxide, Velo, AND THE FREAKIN DEVS. (or probably canonically, random characters that just so happen to be the time trial masters of that particular timeline)
Why yes, I too like to create countless timelines recreationally! What could possibly go wrong??
    NOW LET'S GET DEEPER!
    Iron. Checkpoint. Crate.
You see where I'm going with this?
The Iron Checkpoint Crate is a sentient being that is somehow capable of driving. But I'm not done!
ALL CRATES. They are ALL sentient, omnipresent entities that exist across all the universes and timelines therein.
WHO actually places those crates all over the place? Why are you rewarded for conquering/breaking them all?
Why are you sometimes rewarded for 'being nice' to them, ie; leaving them alone in very specific instances?
Maybe THEY WANT TO BE DESTROYED. With each adventure, they make themselves harder and harder to conquer, and when you do, they award you with clear power gems.
At some arbitrary points, they specifically reward you with a blue gem for NOT breaking them, especially in Crash 4 where it's quite a bit difficult to spare the crates.
Of course, there's some contradictions/gaps that'd be hard to bridge.
We know from Crash 4 that cortex experimented with crates after watching crash break them all like the OCD freak he is. He even created new types of crates just to see how crash would react to them.
I'd still like to posit that the crates are sentient via the existence of Checkpoint Crates. They literally save a moment in time for whoever breaks them, and bring them back to that point if they die sometime afterwards.
Are they helping us with our adventures, or do they enjoy watching us fail? It's maddening!
    TL;DR
I think CTR is a Paradox Factory that may or may not destroy the universe as we know it.
CRATES ARE MYSTERIOUS SENTIENT BEINGS THAT LOVE TO BE DESTROYED. And the Iron Checkpoint Crate is the bravest among them.

Crash got help when he was suppose to be alone. So I theorizes that ps1 is the events that lead to during the 2000s games while N.sane is what gives us the crash 4. If you recall it was coco who answered the question "how many times did you beat this clown?" Just 3. She wasn't event there during the first game so how'd she known?

There's a small problem with the "Crash caused the multiverse" theory. Funnily enough, from the exact same PS2 game that confirms The Multiverse was a thing pre-remakes: Twinsanity.
See, the Evil Twins are not _originally_ from the 10th Dimension, but from the _original_ one. They were the very first experimental subjects that Cortex used to test the Evolvo-Ray... which regardless of how well it worked, also sent them to another universe.
Question! How could they get sent to another universe if it hadn't been created yet? Remember, this is from _Evolvo-ray_ experimentation, the very process that led to Crash's creation after it was... _mostly_ perfected. Thus, if the apparent results were different, it would've likely affected Crash himself... quite possibly in a way that negated the very time travel this theory relies on.

    CRASH BANDICOOT: Worlds Collide
The characters in the Crash Bandicoot franchise, and their worlds (based on the Crash Bandicoot games) across the multiverse, are about to collide.
Two masters of the multiverse (Alternate versions of The Evil Twins from Crash Twinsanity) utilize an powerful inter-dimensional source with the ability to converge universes,
as part of their plan to defeat their creator, and arch-nemesis, an alternate and much more successful version of Dr. Neo Cortex, and his army of super animal mutants,
led by an alternate and villainous version of Crash called, Thrash Bandicoot.

Raiden then uses his remaining power to send a message to his pass self to prevent that from happening before he gets killed. MK9 takes place in the 1st 3 games but events have been completely changed, Shao Kahn dies, thus leading into Mortal Kombat X, X Comics and 11.

  • @FireStormDel

In regards to CTR connecting to Crash 3, I've always been following the headcanon that either N. Gin was able to build a small Time Twister that was just about able to get Uka Uka, Cortex, and N. Tropy back to the present, or now that I think of it, Uka Uka simply broke free of the baby doctors, and once he had healed, he got them back to the present, restoring Cortex and Tropy in the process so there wasn't any waiting for them to be adults again.
Also, not sure how Crash and Coco picked up 27 crystals in Warped when only the main 25 levels have crystals, all other stages, including Future Tense in N. Sane Trilogy, only have Gems, a slight error, I know, but it did throw me when you said that.
And how can Twinsanity be it's own universe when the game references/follows up Wrath of Cortex, sure, a case could be made that it's an split follow up given the 4th wall reference to WoC not doing well, and the tone changing to be more comedic, but it's more possible they were jokes in the long run than clues/hints of being a different kind of follow up to WoC
As for my personal timelines, they go:
    Main: 1 - 2 - 3 - CTR - CB - WoC - Twinsanity - CNK - HA/XS - N. Tranced - CTTR - CNK mobile sequels - Either original or N. Sane Trilogy and Nitro Fuelled versions apply.
MuTitan: CotT - MoM - Not sure where DS/GBA and Mobile versions go since they have slightly different stories to the console versions from what I've read.
    It's About Time: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4/IAT - All possible later games as of now

There’s actually a lot of similarities between Warped and Avengers Endgame when you think about it. Warping to different points in time and space to get crystals/infinity stones.
Since the timetwister is destroyed at the end of Warped though is it safe to assume they were never returned to their original point in time and space?

Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention. While I can see where you are coming from with this theory... It's complete bunk.
Time travel paradoxes/alterations were debunked last year... or was it in 2019? Either way, it's been proven false. (And I would link an article, but last I did something like that, my comment was auto-deleted.) The long of the short of it is that if you DID go back in time and, say, took one of the Power Crystals to the present, the universe will auto-correct itself.
This is *COMPLETELY* true! It was mathematically proven.
Of course, there is ONE problem...
You run the risk of collapsing the timeline into a blackhole.
    ...
Oh wait, that technically happened. (If we can call what happened in Warped's 100% ending a black-hole.)

Also, not a lot of people realise, but the events of warped, from the perception in the time twister; Crash retrieved all crystals and defeated cortex in matter of like 2 minutes. If you sit in the time twister and watch crash jump in and out of points in time, he will jump out the second he jumped into the level. It may have taken crash however long to complete each level but outside of that point in time, the change would've been immediate

I keep watching this video every so often after running thorough each game and I think there's a weird element to the fact crash technically never "created" the multiverse, cortex did. He sent his birds to a separate dimension which I feel needs to be the starting point to the whole series then it going 1,2 3, racing then 4. Wrath of cortex and twinsanty are a separate timeline with titans and mind over mutant being a third timeline somewhat. But as the twinsanty timeline needs to exist to cause the dimensions I get sorta stumped from there backwards.
