Yeah. No polycaps do not hold over time. Prime example is the IBO line. The both scales become floppy messes. You have the X and Double X that have polycap waists that I have to tighten up because the polycap can't hold the weight. Not then you have the RE/100 Zaku with no polycaps and holds the same pose that I put it in 3 or 4 years ago.
I have a bunch of HG origin kits which all use polycaps and they still hold up well after all these years. Meanwhile my RG kits that I bought around the same time like the Freedom Gundam can't stand up unless they are leaning up against something.
You can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I was right in the middle of rewatching Zeta Gundam and the new Ver Ka ended up being the Zeta Gundam. Still, I wish the MGSD was the Destiny Gundam instead cause Bandai knows what I really wanted was the 200th Freedom Gundam model.
Im also super excited for this Zeta ver ka, and I've been championing for a new Zeta MG for years now. It was only right given we had the RX78, ZZ, Nu, and Unicorn, but no Zeta. While I am still hyped for this, I must say I would have preferred if they went a little more stylized with the proportions and surface detailing. I am a huge fan of Katoki's redesigns and I think this one is a little conservative by his standards. I think the Nu Gundam ver ka and MGEX Unicorn stand as some of his best work when it comes to redesigns for kits. Given the 2.0 exists and is VERY anime accurate I really think they should have gone a little further with this; something more akin to a scaled up RG Zeta would've been my choice.
From from the beginning that the 20 anniversary Master Grade Ver.Ka .... I knew they were going to pick something Universal century, and I knew that we're not going to update the RX-78-2 Ver.Ka to a 2.0... but from the very beginning I knew they were going to make a Zeta consider we have a Nu gundam, ZZ Gundam, unicorn Gundam, and rx78-2 Gundam Ver.Ka... now The Zeta has its divide of attention to be a Ver.Ka... and now it has
The Tickbalang is a reference to the Filipino mythical monster Tikbalang. It's a muscular horse spirt that leads people astray or some place where they'll never return from. Ironic name for what is basically a Base Jabber.
The rotating cockpit HAS been in kits before, like the 2.0/3.0 Gundam for one thing. Took me a second to remember which kit it was, as i distinctly remember building the mechanism but forgot who it was. The fact i have very few kits of a Grade that would have a transformation helped me narrow it down. I only have the Victory, V2 and AGE-2 Magnum MGs plus the RG Zeta.
Worst part about the Zeta ver. Ka is that huge gap between the shield and wings in Waverider because of the new transformation. This wasn't an issue on the 2.0.
I wish there will be more adjustable pilot seats in future kits. ^^' A switch-tab will just do. heheh Also about the Tickbalang: it's a mythical horse with human body in Filipino folklore.
ok im a filipino and one of the kit's name caught my eye. "TICKBALANG" In Philippine spiritual folklore Tikbalang (without letter c) is described as a blasphemous fusion of man and horse, an evil spirit. head oh a horse body of a man, hooves of a horse. Nothing much just an observation haha
FFS Bandai. That's cheating lol. It's a part of its basic armament. You can just hope that the mega launcher will be part of a big expansion set with the ZZ's Full Armor parts
Ver ka was disappointing, thought it would be something cool or different, but mgsd was okay/expected and I might pick it up during a sale. 1/100 Ariel is god tier, and I’m excited for the other kits.
Honestly I was never a fan of sd kits I like the look just wish they had more articulation and the freedom is one of my favorite designs so I think I'm sold
True... Unfortunately shipping prices are still sky-high. I checked before the episode and it would be even more to import a zeta from Japan, even with the favorable exchange rate.
11:43 I agree with this point and I hate it. I'd like to have regularly released master grades back. These "event kits" are expensive and infrequently put out. and the aerial by the way.. super disappointing it wasn't a master grade
Am I the only one who gets a G Reco vibe from the witch from Mercury gundams ? I mean I see some ibo too but man I feel like it should be the G Reco universe here
don't hate on the witch from mercury line so much for now, it seems more like an application for the design learnings from 30MM, besides the kits you pointed out are probably just grunts and making them simpler is better for army building, and the lord astray omega is based on the lord astray rebake which is a regular release kit but the geminas is half assed especially its articulation but if it leads up to a hydra gundam then I'm all for it, great to see SDCS back it is the perfect line to see more SD G Gen orginal designs and same goes for the SDMG, I am salivating at the thought of a SDMG Barbatos/Valvados in all its peacock halo glory, and SDMG barbatos is also a good choice for the second in the line since developing an IBO gundam frame makes pumping out anymore gundams from that series far easier, wish they'd get the MG ibo gundams coming more often since they areleady have the gundam frame in MG form
They did produce different Zaku kits for all the different Tri-Stars so if they decide to do multiple kits to represent the different Southern Cross Zakus? YES Also, another GM and a Char Hi Mobility custom Zaku? YES However, the sign in the middle says Premium Bandai and I'm scare that ALL of them will be PBandai.
I'm glad it's not a perfectability variant of the banshee and phenex . It's not a g-self or any more highly anticipated gundam, but i have high hopes for this. The 2.0 is just not cutting it and it doesn't hold up well for its age.
So for the Southern Cross Zaku kits, the webpage says "Starting with the high-mobility Zaku (for the ground), various types of aircraft are coming one after another!?". This guarantees that we are getting a least 2 Zaku kits and mostly likely separate kits for all 5. Also, this is under P-Bandai so I assume all of them will be so. This is not really surprising as all of the previous Doan's Island kits have been P-Bandai.
After closer inspection, i don't think i'm gonna go for the zeta ver.KA after all. I'm already satisfied with the zeta 2.0, and there's a lot more aspects i don't like here. The only issues i really have with the 2.0 are the lack of an action base adapter (has it's own semi-poseable stand, so not a super big deal) and the bad hands. I dislike the lack of panel lines on the ver.KA, lack of the mega beam launcher, the wing binders don't extend as far, and the shade of yellow is less appealing.
I don't understand the appeal of anime accuracy. The simplified aesthetic stems from a need for efficiency, not because the anime is an accurate representation. The actual detail is represented in countless illustrations, and occasionally even glory shots from the anime itself. The result of that is that I expect a lot more detail from a model kit otherwise it just ends up looking like a toy. If compromises had to be made, I'd rather see an RE/100 with Real Grade levels of outer armor. I'd happily drop the inner frame for that level of intricate detail on a 1/100 scale kit. Not that I think the Ver. Ka is a bad kit. I'm still planning on picking one up when my local hobby shop gets them in stock.
I've only handled a few HG AGE kits but all of them are great. I want all of them but HGUC demands my attention as i only have 50 left to get in terms of retail kits. Just too bad said kits are being scalped to buggery...
I have a zeta 2.0 recently too. But I’ll still get the ver ka. MGSD is not that exciting because of the price for me, skipping the FM for the MG one day instead, and the other nice announcements are all pbandai..... Anyways today’s announcements are wayyy better. YF-19, huckebein, and all the koto announcements omg yesss!!! Lol I guess I’m really moving away from gundams even more now 🤣
The MG RX-78-2 2.0 was the first model that had the rotating cockpit (in the core fighter). I kinda don't love the ver. ka surprisingly. The head looks to long and the chest looks saggy. That MGSD though,,,
The zeta ver ka was heavily based on the original line art for the anime, the original had more downwards pointing chest. It's probably the most anime accurate zeta ever proportions wise, on bandais hobby next website there's a whole thing about the research and stuff they did to get it as close as possible.
I'm a bit disappointed with the Zeta Ver. Ka as a product. I do absolutely love the new proportions, as I always felt the Zeta was a very sleek, tall, and agile looking design in the anime while its kits often feel significantly broader and bulkier than I imagine they should be. The Ver Ka captures the right look, with its narrower, longer silhouette and proportionally smaller backpack. Aside from the visual design of the kit though, the transformation seems almost identical to the RG, with improvements being as a result of just being a bigger kit, much like how the RX-78-2 3.0 was able to improve* upon its RG cousin. The lack of accessories is a hard pill to swallow. I'm not sure it justifies a $20-$30 premium over the 2.0, especially given the lack of the Catapult Deck and Hyper Mega Launcher. You have to really value the look to get this if you already have any other version of this Gundam. *I think Early Real Grade Syndrome is VASTLY overstated, as are the complaints about the RG Zeta. Treat them like model kits and they are fine.
I much prefer the superhero proportions of the Zeta 2.0, but the ver ka looks good despite its thin design. The yellow is atrocious though. Happy to see the FM Aerial doesn’t have the cutesy anime eyes from the show. To say ‘it’s not for me’ would be a heavy understatement, I despise the show so far.
I'm not excited for the Zeta ver.ka, I think Katoki could have done waaaaay better for an MG coming out in 2023. I'm sure the transformation tech is good, but the design is really a downgrade from the 2.0 HOWEVER I am super hype for the FM 1/100 Aerial, it looks fantastic for a no-grade and I'm definitely buying the shit out of it when I can get it
What are you guys talking about none of these new releases are anywhere good basically these are just re-releases with some different extra detail that Ariel still not feeling it I’m just waiting for the MGEX freedom and the next PG what about GP01,2. 2.0 God dammit Bandai where is my RG GP03S
To. be honest if the SDW heroes line was something no one gives a shit about. Then why is the line still here. Different people likes different things get it through your head bro.
Yeah. No polycaps do not hold over time. Prime example is the IBO line. The both scales become floppy messes. The MG Zeta Ver. Ka is gonna be the new MG Wing Zero Ver. Ka in that it's gonna be sold out everywhere and also the reissues in the early months, too.
I honestly think the Lfrith Ur is literally just the Seravee and the GUMP having a one night stand and this was the result
How is that so accurate?
I've been calling it the burger boy for weeks now and I'm so glad I'm not the only one lmao
Im also super excited for this Zeta ver ka, and I've been championing for a new Zeta MG for years now. It was only right given we had the RX78, ZZ, Nu, and Unicorn, but no Zeta. That Tan-coloured Lfrith does look more Cherudim. Some of my friends were thinking more Arios.
Some people called it "Gusion Half Village"!
I'm just a big Zeta fan, I got the 1.0, 2.0 and a few other versions. Totally getting this Zeta
Man I really hope they do finally release the MG AGE-3 Normal and AGE-FX
The Tickbalang is a reference to the Filipino mythical monster Tikbalang. It's a muscular horse spirt that leads people astray or some place where they'll never return from.
Ironic name for what is basically a Base Jabber.
Would've made more sense if it was a land vehicle or mount than a flying machine. This is more Manananggal than Tickbalang lmao.
You got me at mgsd, the rest felt kinda eh hype here and there the icing for me was the mgsd been waiting a couple years for that announcement
Calling the Beguir-Beu the Burger Boy is hilarious! XD
I miss polycaps too, but at least the Fine Build System (or whatever they call the 30MM style engineering) makes for easy kitbashing.
O hope one day we get more SD original gundams in SDCS and MGSD, like a Command Gundam, Knight gundam or Musha Gundam
that age glansa looks so good
Worst part about the Zeta ver. Ka is that huge gap between the shield and wings in Waverider because of the new transformation. This wasn't an issue on the 2.0.
I guess that's the price to pay for that transformation
Yeah, this is one thing that I noticed right away, but no one else comment on.
It would have to be a whole new hyper mega launcher, to fit in wave rider mode, since the shield actually deforms to fit the new profile.
I wish there will be more adjustable pilot seats in future kits. ^^' A switch-tab will just do. heheh
Also about the Tickbalang: it's a mythical horse with human body in Filipino folklore.

Well, they didn't included the Hyper Mega Launcher because of one thing:
Making it as a p-bandai expansion pack.
Totally lol
FFS Bandai. That's cheating lol. It's a part of its basic armament. You can just hope that the mega launcher will be part of a big expansion set with the ZZ's Full Armor parts
I'm kinda curious about the Zeta Ver KA, though I'd rather see the EG Nu Gundam get its full part layout first and maybe a MG 2.0 for the Guncannon.
Never got the 2.0 zeta, so as a zeta fan the ver ka is a must buy for me
22:51 has no idea who right they were
MGSD now fulfills my wish for a SD kit with elbows and knees capable of bending beyond 90 degrees and could crouch and sit down.
I'd have been happier is some new retail HGUCs got announced, since that's the line i'm mainly collecting.
The new SD looks like it came out of gundam SD battle Alliance
5:22 actually the MG RX-78-2 Ver. 3.0 has that gimmick of the rotating pilot within the Core Fighter
After watching Doan’s Island, I definitely want one of those Southern Cross Zaku. Maybe even two. Or all of them. Skate bois.
Ver ka was disappointing, thought it would be something cool or different, but mgsd was okay/expected and I might pick it up during a sale. 1/100 Ariel is god tier, and I’m excited for the other kits.
Zeta PG had a rotating cockpit mechanism
man i want this mgsd freedom and strike freedom
ill definitely get them
but i hope theres a mgsd rx 78 2 too
They wouldve won 2022 if it was a G-self
It's not gonna be a Ver Ka and people gotta stop expecting it to be.
@@Amuro1X it should be
IMO G-Self is better off having a 1/100 FM or a regular MG
Honestly I was never a fan of sd kits I like the look just wish they had more articulation and the freedom is one of my favorite designs so I think I'm sold
I pre-ordered my MG Zeta Gundam Ver Ka through USA Gundam Store, almost $105 USD with shipping.
Hey just a heads up the conversion rate for yen is really good. For example the 7000yen for Zeta is currently 48.60usd.
True... Unfortunately shipping prices are still sky-high. I checked before the episode and it would be even more to import a zeta from Japan, even with the favorable exchange rate.
You are literally the only person I have ever heard say they prefer polycaps.
11:43 I agree with this point and I hate it. I'd like to have regularly released master grades back. These "event kits" are expensive and infrequently put out.
and the aerial by the way.. super disappointing it wasn't a master grade
Mind = blown 😳 🤯
Still wished the mgsd had started with the bb senshi og trio
Am I the only one who gets a G Reco vibe from the witch from Mercury gundams ? I mean I see some ibo too but man I feel like it should be the G Reco universe here
Same designers. Ippei didn't design everything from WFM, but he did quite a few.
age glansa!!
I've been hoping for a 2.0 Zeta for a long time, especially after the dispointment that was the RG.
I don't like some of the proportions on this kit though.
There is already a MG Zeta 2.0. This ver. Ka would probably be closer to a 3.0. 2.5 at worst
don't hate on the witch from mercury line so much for now, it seems more like an application for the design learnings from 30MM, besides the kits you pointed out are probably just grunts and making them simpler is better for army building, and the lord astray omega is based on the lord astray rebake which is a regular release kit but the geminas is half assed especially its articulation but if it leads up to a hydra gundam then I'm all for it, great to see SDCS back it is the perfect line to see more SD G Gen orginal designs and same goes for the SDMG, I am salivating at the thought of a SDMG Barbatos/Valvados in all its peacock halo glory, and SDMG barbatos is also a good choice for the second in the line since developing an IBO gundam frame makes pumping out anymore gundams from that series far easier, wish they'd get the MG ibo gundams coming more often since they areleady have the gundam frame in MG form

However, the sign in the middle says Premium Bandai and I'm scare that ALL of them will be PBandai.
That sign definitely means they’re all pbandai.
No surprise 🙄
It said new tech for the mgsd metallics
I cared about the SD line. Some ninjas in there I wanted from before
I'm glad it's not a perfectability variant of the banshee and phenex . It's not a g-self or any more highly anticipated gundam, but i have high hopes for this. The 2.0 is just not cutting it and it doesn't hold up well for its age.

This is not really surprising as all of the previous Doan's Island kits have been P-Bandai.
Im pretty sure the new ver ka has less detail than the 2.0 to be more anime accurate. Which to me is dissapointing. But I can always scribe detail in.
MG zeta use the same engineering as metal robot damashii
Polycaps sucks :p
After closer inspection, i don't think i'm gonna go for the zeta ver.KA after all. I'm already satisfied with the zeta 2.0, and there's a lot more aspects i don't like here. I hope they release a new RG
Idk, i like the Engage. Kind of a UC fanboy, so being from the same timeline, ill take it.
15:50 it says 1/144 scale. Not 1/100 no?
The website says that the FM Aerial is 1/100 scale. That pic in this video must be referring to the HG comparing it to the FM.
ZETAAAAAA
I'm pretty surprised the MGSD line starts off with the freedom gundam, but it looks cool!
Still no MG G Self, sadge 😭😭😭😭
From what I’ve heard the tickbalang is from a Filipino folklore, with a horse headed man
I don't understand the appeal of anime accuracy. The simplified aesthetic stems from a need for efficiency, not because the anime is an accurate representation. Love the idea of MGSD but I really could not give a damn about seed mobile suits.
Are we hoping for bandai to listen to social clamor to justify that price tag for Zeta VK by adding in the mega launcher? Lol
I have a zeta 2.0 recently too.
But I’ll still get the ver ka. MGSD is not that exciting because of the price for me, skipping the FM for the MG one day instead, and the other nice announcements are all pbandai.....

Lame after all this time and there's still no zaku 1 /kampher 2.0 and no 1/100 mobile armors
I much prefer the superhero proportions of the Zeta 2.0, but the ver ka looks good despite its thin design.

They can't won if they don't have any competition to begin with.
boring, cure for insomnia, lack of imagination, money milking, yawn ZZZZ these are the words best describe bandai and gunpla nowadays.
Zeta ver ka just lack of surface details and multitone color.
Zeta ver ka was most disappointing choice
Unsubscribed since trash talking sdw heroes. No love for all gunplas.
Lol ok
Bleh what a let a down for 20th anniversary VerKa.
