I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video, I will tell you what happened on the seven-hundred-twenty-eighth day of the war.
Day 728: Feb 21
Today, the biggest news comes from the Kherson region.
First of all, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu suddenly announced that Russian forces completely eliminated the Ukrainian bridgehead and reestablished total control over the eastern bank of the river. The announcement was made during his briefing with Putin. What is interesting is that even Putin immediately but softly challenged Shoigu’s claims by saying that he personally spoke with the commander of the Dnirpo Grouping of Forces, who informed Putin that there were still a handful of Ukrainians inside the village. Shoigu refuted it and portrayed Russian efforts to eliminate the bridgehead as a successfully completed effort.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Shoigu likely prematurely claimed the Russian seizure of the settlement to reinforce its desired informational effects ahead of the presidential election this March. And this evaluation of the situation seems to be correct because, based on the available geolocated footage, Russian forces barely managed to get to the outskirts. One video filmed by a Ukrainian drone operator shows how Russians sneaked in, put the Russian flag on the remnants of what once was a house, and very quickly started running away from the site. Another video was filmed in the eastern part of the settlement that was always under Russian control or in the grey zone. Russian sources reported that the flag mission was ordered by the commander of the Russian eight hundred tenth marine brigade, who wanted to capitalize on the positive news of the capture of Avdiivka, and his plan was successful because by declaring the victory at the right time, he promptly got the rank of a general.
Once the Ukrainian marines, who are actually located in Krynky now, saw the claims of the Russian Defense Minister, they started releasing videos from the settlement. These videos came as a hard hit in the Russian information space and tarnished the reputation of the Russian Defense Minister, who was called out on lying in the eyes of the President. The commander of the Russian eight hundred tenth marine brigade, who basically let him down, immediately initiated attempts to fix the problem as soon as possible. Unfortunately for Russians, Ukrainian fighters anticipated such a response to their videos and prepared to face the attacks. According to some fighters, the Ukrainian drone operators, in coordination with artillery crews, timely spotted and fired at the approaching Russian assault units, forcing them to retreat.
However, Ukrainians did not stop there and relocated multiple Special Force operators to the region who conducted intense reconnaissance with the most advanced tools. As a result, Ukrainians identified a concentration of Russian forces approximately fifteen kilometers from the bridgehead. What made the situation for Russians even worse was that a Russian commander wanted to visit the base, so everyone was ordered to go and stay outside and wait. The commander never showed up because Ukrainian Special Force operators conducted a HIMARS strike with cluster warheads. According to Russian sources, two rockets struck the base at first, and one struck the base when another group of soldiers started collecting corpses and evacuating the wounded, causing even more destruction. Russian sources also circulated footage of the aftermath, but there are so many corpses that I would need to censor the whole screen anyway. Ukrainian sources reported that the base had personnel from 3 different detachments, one of which was the Russian eight hundred tenth marine brigade, which is responsible for the Ukrainian bridgehead area.
Two days ago, Ukrainian HIMARS crews increased their activity in the region and conducted a strike on Russian headquarters. The footage shows a complete destruction of the two-story house.
Two days before that, Ukrainians conducted yet another HIMARS strike. Ukrainian reconnaissance identified the Russian drone in the sky and traced it all the way back to the drone crew. Ukrainian HIMARS operators were ready to receive the final coordinates, and while the Russian soldiers were collecting their drones, the HIMARS rockets reached their predetermined destination and destroyed the whole group.

Ukraine should be provided with an enough fighter aircraft to form airforce, such as F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, including ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range versions should be sent to them), and the russian military facilities inside of russian territory should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans understand that not only is aiding Ukraine the morally right thing to do, it is the practical thing to do also. America has spent something like approximately 6% of our military budget so far to aid Ukraine. However, more than half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure!! In addition, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a much more peaceful and stable place for decades - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions of dollars spent today to aid Ukraine saves trillions of dollars tomorrow.. The vast majority of Americans understand this fact. Americans also want Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support providing military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are an American citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities;, and promptly. The sooner America provides Ukraine the weapons it requires to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be done, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website.. One can also conduct a google search for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.

Shoigu is 100% loyal to Putin. There is no other reason he is still around. It's true that Ukraine could not last more than 2- 3 months without support, it is a country who had no any army up to 2014,
But the west promised to aid Ukraine, but till today are fighting without any single say 500km range missiles to hit deep inside Russian military complexes
They are literally fighting with a tied hand, where as Putin has a freedom to do use anything at his disposal
The fear is that Russia would retaliate by disrupting NATO missions in middle east .......and that is POLITICAL defeat, casted and carried on Ukraine shoulders
Just like how Putin sits on table and sign decrees about Ukrainian oblasts, NATO could just sit in Kiev and declare Ukraine a NATO state, then send in just only it's air force and wipe the Russians out .....but that decision is feared, because of too much politics involved

I'm kind of surprised how long these bridgeheads hands remained static. It seems like somewhere I would expect to either expand or collapse within a month...holding such a small and difficult to reinforce area can't be easy.
Nope it's ain't, and very difficult now during winter with ice and cold conditions. I watched a video of medevacs going to krynky. And they told that id you were injured, it could take up to 3 days to evacuate. As they did this during the night. And the possibility of fog that was very difficult to work in.
But as these strike shows, russia need to allocate quite much of their forces to this area. And it's always the possibility that Ukraine will try to expand this frontline when sprint/summer arrives. It's a torn into the russian "rear"
They provide fire support from the other side of the river. So they probably can't advance further without loosing this support.
I am no military analyst or have anything to do with the military but I have a theory: They didn't expand the bridgehead exactly because they are so difficult to reinforce, but by keeping them "online", they bind a huge amount of Ruzzian personnel with a rather small detachment. So just letting them be there as a thorn in Ruzzias side

Ukraine has drone superiority that takes out all the small columns approaching it, covered by a strong air defense system. Remember they downed those 3 jets that tried to do a run all the way from Crimea.
@@CellGames2006 Avdiivka fell because Putin announced to the Russian people it had been captured 4 months ago, and had already sold private land to businesses and landlords there. If he couldn't point to a picture and show no Ukrainians alive there, it would have hurt his "re-election" but more importantly it would have affected his next round of mobilization. Russia advanced so quickly a thousand Russians a day were dying to their own artillery fire and minefields. There was no real reason to rush the village and lose so much valuable and frankly irreplaceable equipment except as a political message. But, it worked, a few more Russian victories like that and Ukraine can't lose.

Historically it has been the case that Russian commanders exaggerate successes and understate setbacks when reporting up the chain of command. But not often has such practice blown up in their faces so spectacularly.

The Krinky kerfuffle reminds of the assault on the Reichstag in 1945.
The general in charge of the assault said to Stalin that the building had been seized, and he was congratulated... only to informed later by his subordinates that it was far from done.
If I remember correctly, he then launched costly assaults to make sure the Reichstag was in soviet hands before his superiors were informed of the truth, and sacrificed hundreds of lives when instead they could have waited and better prepare the Reichstag's capture.

This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a much more peaceful and stable place for decades - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions of dollars spent today to aid Ukraine saves trillions of dollars tomorrow.. The vast majority of Americans understand this fact. Americans also want Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support providing military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are an American citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons -- in war-winning quantities, and promptly. The sooner America provides Ukraine the weapons it requires to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be done, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also conduct a google search for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.

Atm from public news it seems Ukraine will receive 30-40 F16. But I guess the final number will be kept secret to the end of the war. For comparison, Ukraine had an air force of 207 (of them 120 fighters) pre 2021.
I think it is important that US citizens should push their elected Republican representatives to take a stand against the poison that Trump, MAGA and speaker Johnson currently represent. Push the representatives to sack Speaker Johnson! Make it clear that he is not wanted in the politics anymore. Otherwise they can bury the Republican party and let it turn into conspiracy madhouse. Preferably send Johnson to Russia? USA needs bi-party collaboration against all MAGA - qanon - flat earth - etc. insanity.
Notice that the bill, actively blocked by Johnson and Trump, got ~70% support in the Congress. So there is a pretty good support from the Republicans also. Blocking this means that Johnson is openly against the USA people, its democracy and values.
Johnson and Trump are now openly for 1) bombing of maternity hospitals, 2) organized civilian killings in Mariupol and Bucha, 3) Russia stealing factories, equipment and airplanes from USA companies, 4) Russia putting USA journalists to prison, 5) Russia being best buddies with Iran and North Korea etc.
The thing is I can imagine that if Ukraine starts attacking military factories inside Russia n large quantity , then Russia might think it is ok to attack military factories inside Germany, U.S. and other countries who are providing weapons to Ukraine. That would be insane, but I can see them do it, because at that point it would be an existential threat to them at that point. I mean in hypothetical situation would U.S. just stand by and let Mexico destroy us weapons factories, while Brazil and China were providing them the weapons to do so? Or would U.S. target those weapons factories in Brazil and China in order to prevent them from providing weapons to Mexico?
That is why this is a tricky war to win for Ukraine, even if it had enough artillery and military equipment's.
