Kylie Minogue is 53 now. She started her music career many years ago. I think her first hit was a cover of the song Loca Motion. She was engaged to Michael Hutchens singer of INXS long before he passed away. She also collaborated with Robbie Williams on one of his albums, did a duet called Kids. Cool song! She is also a breast cancer survivor! Love her!

Kylie became famous from being on an Australian soap opera called Neighbours, which did remarkably well in the UK back in the 80s and 90s, catapulting her to stardom when she decided to come here and make music. Her sister Dannii was also famous in the UK from being on another Aussie soap called "Home & Away" and also did some music but never became quite the household name that Kylie ended up being. I actually met her sister Dannii twice back in 1991, when she was over here promoting her single and I was doing work experience back stage at two of the events/TV shows she was performing on. Weirdly, she went on to have a kid with a rugby player from my home town!
She is an Australian icon! This song lit up every dance club around the world. How could you not dance to this?

She was very private during her treatment and didnt cut her hair it fell out from Chemotherapy.

Kylie Minogue is the Australian UK-based equivalent to Madonna. She's been in the music business for over 30 years, and remains a non-stop hit machine with no less than 60 hit singles so far.
Many of Kylie's albums have outsold Madonna's.
She's not our equivalent to Madonna, are you stoned, that's so offensive to Kylie. Kylie can sing, write song's and she's as down to earth as she was when she first started out on young talent time. Madonna can't sing, she's a horrible person and her claim to fame is spreading her legs while singing other people's songs. Vast difference man.

Cathy had 4 top 10 hits in the U.S. in the late 80s/early 90s -- C'mon and Get My Love, Just Another Dream, Touch Me (All Night Long) and Too Many Walls. She then became a successful songwriter with this song, Toxic by Britney Spears, I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry (co-written with Dr. Luke) and the theme from Pop Idol/American Idol to name a few.
Can't Get You Out of My Head peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 but was a #1 hit on the dance charts and was #1 in a number of countries in Europe as well as Kylie's home country of Australia and New Zealand.

Haha, I love the way you worded that. Kylie in this clip to me is the *ultimate* $exy woman. And I've thought this since I was a 9 year old girl when it came out 20 years ago. I always tell people to check this clip out. Not many other women come close to this in my opinion. I do find the song and her vocals $exy as hell too.

I think the apparent simplicity of the lyrics is misleading. I have contemplated the meaning of these lyrics over the years and I think they could be either the joyful beginning of a new relationship where some uncertainty over its dynamics remain, or it may be about a mutual destructive and abusive relationship that causes harm to both parties. At times the message is contradictory such as "stay forever and ever" while later on she asks to be set free and talks of the darkness and need within her and implies they are destructive. I think the song actually accurately depicts that never-ending cycle in many relationships where the hope for something special, unique, and meaningful is often exposed as an individual attempts to construct their experience into a love that does not exist and instead is merely an illusion and ultimately unsatisfactory for either one or both parties to the relationship.

I was thinking of that! She is one of those glam women that women /girls like too. She's very down to earth when interviewed, and has worked really hard. Even guys I know who love punk/thrash also like Kylie! This video doesn't show what a pretty face she has, odd camera angles /styling, but she's tiny with big personality! Apparently Madonna nearly got this song, or turned it down, can't remember which. It was a huge hit and Madge missed out!

After Locamotion a young 18 year old Kylie had I should be so lucky. Like I said not as big a hit but in no way did her career stall. TV, movies, albums, world tours. She's been everywhere. Don't have to look hard to find her.

Kylie started already in the 80s with hits I Should Be So Lucky and Locomotion. In '95 she sang a duet with Nick Cave which became known for its video, Where the Wild Roses Grow. This was her real comeback song in 2001, quaranteed not to get it out of your head. It was number one worldwide and played everywhere.
That song was EVERYWHERE back then, like everyone had it on repeat. And the video- groundbreaking at the time. I love it!!!

Kylie was the ultimate pop princess in the late 80’s and early 90’s. She had a bit of a lull until 2000 when ‘Spinning Around’ was released and this song made her on top again. She is Australian but she is an honorary Brit since we loved her in the soap ‘Neighbours’. She is just a lovely woman and she hardly looks any different now to when she did this song ( She’s 53!!!!)

She's from Australia originally! I saw her perform originally on late-night TV and she was an instant blast!

She is not only a great singer but a lovely lady. Her career spans decades and she is great not only in Australia but here in the UK. The more I hear her the more I enjoy her music. Her white top had my Mum saying she catch a cold in that which made us laugh but Mum would often say something that struck us as funny bless her. Kylie is one of the most loved Pop Stars I can think of. You can't go wrong with watching Tears on My Pillow and then Better The Devil You Know to see her transformation from one Era to the next. It has long been commented that Michael Hutchence from INXS started to influence her in music/image and in the bedroom lol
Kylie Jenner tried to trademark the name "Kylie" for business purposes. But Kylie Minogue took her to court to stop the trademark as she had been using "Kylie" for more than three decades. (Internationally, but not so strong in the US). The same way as does "Cher," , "Madonna", "Rihanna", and "Lorde" . Can you imagine someone trying the trademark "Cher" to stop her from using it?
@Margareta Holmgren I know right.. I remember Kylie from when she started in the television show Neighbours so many years ago even though I didn't really watch it. I really like some of her music but not all of it. But you can't knock that she has been around so long with so many record sales and committed fans around the world. I have seen many many interviews with Kylie and she always comes across as such a wonderful person. Such a sweetheart. So kind. Never a bad word for anyone. I can't say I am a big fan of her work, but I am a huge fan of Kylie herself Such lovely lady.

Kylie is an icon. She is what a "POP Idol" should be. She is gracious, she does so much and gives back and a Cancer Survivor. A Warrior, she is what Gwen and Madonna should embody. She holds her own and she is a huge guilty pleasure for me. You need to do more Kylie music please!
A personnal favorite of mine from Kylie is "Two hearts", she impersonnates a rock version of Marylin Monroe and the song is incredibly catchy ; and that walk to the mike in the black suit at 1'48'' is pure perfection ! ^^. Hey I like Kylie but c’mon guys, some of the comments on here comparing her to Madonna are hilarious lol. Madonna is consistently ranked 1,2 or 3rd in most all time female music artists of all time lists, while Kylie doesn’t even crack top 50, or sometimes 100 lists. Plus Madonna’s in the Guinness Book as the highest selling female artist of all time. Sure Kylie is the highest selling Australian female artist in her own country but who do you think is the highest selling female artist regardless of where she’s from in Australia? Yup you guessed it, Madonna! Even in her own country Madonna is the best. So, yeah Kylie is great but stop with the craziness lol.

Back in the day when I would go to the gym for my 5:30a.m. Body Pump class at 24 Hr Fitness, our music playlist ALWAYS started with “I Believe In You” by Kylie Minogue. I still love that song to this day.

When you said short & sweet, that perfectly describes Kylie. She use to be in a Australian soap called Neighbours. She had a hit record with I Should Be So Lucky and has been making hit records for over 20 years now. I thought you would like the video, and the look on your face when she appeared with the white split outfit was priceless. You would enjoy Spinning Around as well.

One time this song came on the radio when I was entering a large city and the freeway traffic got fast and a little tight with 5 lanes and no shoulder (speed limits do not exist). Suddenly I became relaxed and maneuvered in and out and around the traffic so effortlessly going 85. LIke it was slow motion but totally SLICK and FAST at the same time.
Just chill back weaving in and out. I’ll probably never forget that. I really enjoyed that drive! The right groove for the right moment.
