No skin color to good old boys. My boys are and they're Puerto Rican. We live in a very mixed community in the middle of nowhere Texas. Somebody comes to mess with one, they're messing with us all and we will respond accordingly.
Amen. Way it should be. I live in a small town in Ky. Next door lives my Brother and his black wife and kids. We all know each other here. Black, Latino folks here will wreck you too if you come here and burn and wreck shit thats been in their family for ages. We look out for each other here. You cant be too racist here, black or white cause everybodys intermarried and shit. Mess with the wrong cat here and youll wind up with a mixed gang on your ass. 💯✌️❤️ from Ky
How it should be. All for one🫡
Absolutely. I live in a small town in Tx. You are 100% correct.
8th generation Texas good 'ole boy here and I concur.
THE WAY IT SHOULD BE
People seem to forget that there aren't just white people in small towns he talking about everyone of every race and religion in small towns
💯
Exactly
On behalf of all the small towns everywhere . . . he's not talking about any "underlying stuff." He's talking straight out and straight up. FAFO. Respect.
Bet
“Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk, carjack an old lady at a red light! Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store, you think it’s cool? Well act a fool if you like! Cuss at a cop, spit in his face, stomp on the flag, and light it up! Yeah, you think you’re tough? Well, try that in a small town, see how far you make it down the road! Around here, we take care of our own you cross that line, it won’t take long for you to find out! I recommend you don’t… try that in a small town!” it’s not a threat, it’s a promise!! I STAND WITH JASON!! Boycott CMT for pulling his video!!
If you notice, his 2nd verse is about gun control and how their attempst to confiscate (round up) guns wouldn't be tolerated in a small town. This is about the differences between law enforcement and politicians in a city vs a small town.
Understanding this, he isn't just talking about neighbors come together to help each in regards to the crimes he mentions. He is also talking about how police and politicians in a small town won't tolerate the crimes and violence they way they do in big cities.
I think he's talking about both. We back our police as well. The small town I live in heard th🎉 BLM was coming to town they were met with a very strong show of united armed police and citizens.
@@rebeccamills5527 Exactly. While big cities were telling police to stand down during the riots, this is the warning FL small town sheriff Grady Judd had for rioters that had threatened on social media to take violence into the neighborhoods within his county:
czcams.com/video/kQF2SFz0A0I/video.html
Exactly!! And a lot of jails actually take care of the prisoners! We have one that a grandma feeds the prisoners! And the food she cooks ain't prison food either! We talking on Sundays, fried chicken! 😂
Some of y'all from the city just might enjoy our jails! Lol! Ya might say they have a bit of Andy Taylor in them! But if you are an out of towner and you play games. You'll find out it's not tolerated.
There's nothing racist about this song. This song is about judging people by the contact of their character, not by the color of their skin.
The video is literally shot where a black man was lynched.
@@dilfhunterthv01Give it up already! Many videos and movies were filmed in front of that courthouse including Hallmark and Disney 🤦♀️
@@dilfhunterthv01which means absolutely nothing… stop reaching
@@dilfhunterthv01lynched by southern Democrats...they want you to forget that part. Democrats founded the KKK, they lynched white Republicans as well as black people. Conservatives are the ones who fought to end slavery and for civil rights. Don't make assumptions about people based on their skin color.
Personal story. I live between 3 different small towns.. literally have all 3 in my address XD.
There was a night we were at home around 9 or so at night, watching the news. Broadcast was interrupted by a news report about a high-speed pursuit from the Capital a hours drive away having made its way down to our neck of the woods. The guy they were chasing was wanted for an armed robbery / murder. Turns out he had crashed at the Off-ramp from the interstate about 2 miles from our house and they were now looking for him as he had ran on foot (it was around 9pm in the middle of fall, so was kinda dark outside). While this was being reported, we heard the unmistakable 'chirp' of a Nextel Phone. Anyone who has ever heard a Nextel chirp knows what they sound like.. no other phone has that distinct of a 'sound' to it. Problem was, no one in our house HAD a nextel, and the sound came from behind our heads, where nothing but a wall and a window was.
Within 2 minuts, not only was me and my dad on our back porch, both armed with rifles and a hunting spot-light combing the field behind our house, but so was our neighbor about 200 yards away who was an off-duty police officer who my mom had called out on His back porch with his duty-gun and a spotlight while his wife was holding a rifle.
So there were 4 guns + 2 spotlights just sweeping the fields between/behind our houses, and 2 dogs just begging to be let out of their pens.
About 5 minutes later we went back inside after the dogs had calmed down (likely lost the scent of the person who owned the Nextel we heard)
Another 5 minutes go by and we get a 'update' on the news, the guy had flagged down a passing police cruiser about 3 miles down the road and surrendered himself, stating he was more scared of the people inside the houses he was sneaking past than he was the police.
"THAT" is the small-town mentality. Criminals have no fear of the people in big-cities, because they get away with so much as no one is 'allowed' to react to them/defend from them.... That is NOT the case out here in these small towns. Those big-city DA's may bend themselves over backwards for their Politician overlords, but out here in the small towns, the PEOPLE are the first ones you deal with before the police or DA's ever get involved, and we dont bend-over backwards for any politician. Politician's can honestly kiss our collective arses, we care about ourselves, our family, and our neighbors before we ever think about some bureaucrat.
Violence in a Small town is never the 'first response', but it IS a response that WILL be used if given sufficient reason for it, and it is only ever in RESPONCE to someone else starting something.
liar
They took the end of the song out with the farmer saying. If you help, we'll help you, that's what this community is about helping each other. If somebody needs some help, they'll get it.
I noticed that was not in this version
6 seconds has been removed due to some copyright issues. 3 snippets, which does include that part you mention.
@@MegF142857 that sucks that they did that.
@@MegF142857 He had to take out the Fox 5 news logo..
They shouldn't have taken that out.
I think the smallest town they tried that riot nonsense was Kenosha, Wisconsin. Didn't end well for them.
it worked in 'part' of the town... but a side-town near to there that they tried to go into, was filled with people sitting on their porches, and everyone was armed... they decided to go somewhere else.
Rittenhouse wasn’t tolerating it, not a lot of people will.
This is a song that makes legends
The media can cut what they want from this song but we have seen it from day 1 and they cant take the images from us.
No they can't. This whole video awesome
My take - if you don't cause trouble there won't be any, if you come looking for trouble you will find it.
Jason is from Georgia where the state of emergency was. I don’t know when I don’t watch the news. But this video was shot in Columbia Tennessee, which is where Jason currently lives with his wife and family. That’s a courthouse with the flag hanging off of it which is one of the oldest structures in Columbia. People are trying to say that because of the lynching against Black people at this courthouse took place back in the 1920s that Jason intentionally shot the video there as a subliminal message supporting lynching, which is absolutely and utterly absurd. He simply shot the video there because it’s a monumental landmark in his hometown, and he doesn’t like to travel far away from his family when he works when he can avoid it because of the touring that he usually does.
The lynched one young black man near a hundred years ago, but he was also accused of acausting a young white girl, even though it was false. That was in the days of mob rule and both blacks and whites and other races were being lynched. People need to get over it it was a long time ago.
He's saying that shit won't flush here..... he lives there.
I love your reaction I'm not criticizing it in any way i'm just making a statement... Everyone interprets music differently. I believe hes saying don't bring that mess to a small town As in illegal and immoral activity... (Peaceful demonstration We are all about that)... For example, walking down the sidewalk in a big city and randomly getting punched so that someone can post it on their TikTok for views (has happened) For the most part in big cities, people mind their own business and don't want to get involved more likely In a small town, someone is going to get involved... And "small town" is not a color "good old boys" is not a color ... Just my thoughts Thank you for the reaction
thx for clarifying, never understood what ‘good ole boys’ ment. I know ‘proud boy’s’ is like bad right? Wasn’t sure if good ole boys was like a sub language to say proud boy’s or not.
@@DonVonProud Boys are NOT bad.......
@@DonVonProud Boys haven't destroyed their backyards like Black Lives matter and ANTIFA. Those orgs have cost billions of dollars in damages to private and public property as well as Constantly assaulting the elderly and younger people just for supporting a political candidate.
@@DonVonActually, the Proud Boys are mostly non-white and not bad.
@@DonVonthe media has told everyone the Proud Boys are bad. They are not white.
Darlin. Trust me. As a small town Texas girl I can assure you we have no underlying meaning. Simply put the song is saying do not bring any violence to us because we will stand strong and protect each other. 🤍
love it, thank you
I'm a retired US Army Special Forces Sergeants Major (24 years) and I STAND WITH JASON ALDEAN!!!!
Okay so, if this song is so violent, then what is up with the crickets regarding other genders of music these days? Some of the rap music and grunge and heavy-metal that I’ve heard that is out currently getting billboard plaques by the way, are some of the most disturbing and violent lyrics I’ve ever heard! But this song, this song right here, is getting this type of backlash?!? An artist that is as well respected as Jason Aldean is being treated this way over this song and this video?!?!? I am so confused
From what I seen on a tik tok this song is getting flak, not because of violence but supposedly he talking about sun down towns. I honestly don't see it.
Yeah double standards
@@35547 facts!
@@gladiusgamer9324It was getting flak in the media for "promoting violence" too, and that argument is just cringe because there's a lot of other music that's actually promoting violence and the media doesn't have a problem with it.
I grew up in a small town in Kansas. Moved to the city and years later i came back and I'll never live in the city again!
ANYONE is welcomed in a small town, and we love to pamper our visitors! There is no air pollution or light pollution and the skies are crystal clear at night. So peaceful. Anti-stress, good home cooked food, no heavy traffic, hunting seasons, beautiful wildlife, some tame, some not. So much safer than the city. Lots of gardens with veggies and fruits we share with each other.
If we find you stranded, we'll help you get on your way...but not before we fix you up with a cold glass of iced tea, a good home cooked meal and some goodies to take with you. ❤
But if you come here with ill intentions, best know you'll get caught and you'll wish you were back in the city! Lol!
Best Public Service Announcement I have ever heard!!!💕
SIR, THE CRUX OF IT IS THIS: THOSE OF US RAISED RIGHT IN A SMALL TOWN, LIVING IN A SMALL TOWN HAVE A DIFFERENT MENTALITY THAN CITY DWELLERS, WE TAKE CARE OF OUR NEIGHBORS , THEY'RE LIKE EXTENDED FAMILY. WE ARE PATRIOTIC TO THE CORE!!! WE WILL DEFEND OURSELVES AGAINST ANYONE!!!! I AM PROUD TO LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN!!!
Well said. I'm near a small town.
I’ve seen so many reactions to this. It’s really awesome how everybody is rallying around him. This song should have been called “fuck around and find out”. Love you ❤️
It would be a terrible thing if the bad guy called the cops for help lol in small towns everybody know each other including the sheriff 😂
Who thinks a mainstream artist today gonna come out with a racist song? They got people tellin Black folks it’s racist, so they come in tryin to find racist messages, hidden messages or “dog whistles,” so that’s what they’re expecting to find. In a country song about small-town values. Whole thing is completely nuts.
We’re not out here lookin for trouble, but if trouble comes lookin…we’re gonna look out for all our people, all races together. We don’t have 40 other stores people can go to if something happens to our one grocery store, we gotta keep that thing open. Most folks would want to do the same, i think. Aint nothin against any group, he even told the government, “Don’t try it.”
Thanks for the reaction, brother. 👍
Guess you’ll get the latest. They cut last news footage of farmers gathering to help out a farmer in need. I’ve seen seen in my town.
I just watched another video and saw that farmer part
Jason Aldean is from the little town that I live in. He’s saying F around and find out. We have 2 stoplights here, when I say everyone knows everyone I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
I live in a small town and we have one grocery store and a few gas stations and black and white both work there side by side just trying to make sure that their kids have the opportunity to get an education. We are a community and we will protect them all. Thank you for really taking the time to look into this. He's talking about crime not race! The people who Automatically hear black, there's your racist!
The point is simple. As a small town boy I can tell you that around here we have each other's back no matter skin color or political affiliation. I may not agree with the sign in my neighbors yard, but if their house is on fire I'll run in to save their cat.
Don't come around here with that silliness. You won't like how it ends.
He's just saying in small towns
FU*K AROUND AND FIND OUT!!
Look at the video it’s almost all whites ppl… It’s not about color it’s about protecting the people we love and a small town we have everyone’s back
In the great words of little Jon
He’s saying “don’t start no shit there won’t be no shit”
Small town does not equal race. It equals neighbors. We take care of our neighbors. Regardless of race color or creed. We love our neighbors as ourselves. That’s what people don’t understand.
CMT is a coward. I love this song and he's just calling out all this ridiculous violence saying nothing excuses it and don't bring that crap to my doorstep!!
I recommend you dont!! I love that line
Agreed
My favorite line is " See how far you make it down the road." The answer is not far. In other words, you won't get away with that kind of behavior in a small town.
This is exactly what the world needs, a mother teaching her children. I totally respect whT you are doing.
The only ones that hear the dog whistle, are the dogs.
Hey my guy!! Long time!!
👋🏽
People just hating on that man cuz he nailed that song Rock the charts in country music
Nicely played Brother 👍👍 I'm blessed to live in one of those "small towns" in the mountains of east Tennessee 🙏 Anybody, anytime... regardless your welcome here. Just don't act stupid 😉 Spread the love 🐶😎🇺🇸🤙
Go Jason you are a hero
Jasons message is clear.
And I'll leave it at that.
This song is a direct response to the lawlessness we saw in 2020 with the riots, burning and looting in some US cities. The courthouse in the video is a symbol of law and order. He's saying don't try that behavior in a small town. Here we take care of each other and watch each other's backs. You won't get very far without suffering the consequences.
First of all, this was an awesome powerful, strong kick ass song! But it’s simple, this song is music and music takes you over bridges to other cultures and other views, but always you’ll find the truth. The truth is this song is nothing more than an anti-crime I wish more artist of all would produce more of this positive
music and songs, and lyrics about what’s really going on in America so we can stand together in community’s
There is no underlying message. Being from a small town myself he’s saying the people, including the law, in a small town won’t tolderate the crimes and riots.
I stand with Jason 100%
Hey I grew up and lived most of my life in a small one red light town, and their ain't no color to it. He's talking about standing up for your country, and you way of life against those that want to destroy it.
Candace Owens did a review of this controversy. She said her family moved in a little town in TN three years ago and Alden and his wife were the first to befriend them and have been close friends since. She said maybe she should be be afraid-not
What comes to your mind when you think of The Bronx? I live here. Where I live, it's racially diverse (always has been), quiet, neighborly, everyone says "hi" to you. We are part of NYC! Everyone thinks NYC is just Manhattan, it isn't. Like everywhere else, there are hard neighborhoods, I will not lie about that. In the summer of 2020, the men patrolled the streets with baseball bats, 2X4's, I'm sure some were illegally carrying. We can't carry in NY. Jason Aldean is referring to rampant crime. EVERYWHERE. But mostly, in big cities where DA's care more about criminals than victims. Under the 2nd Amendment we are allowed to defend ourselves. What would you do if it were a member of YOUR family who was hurt by a career criminal?
Love your reaction...
Great Song, Criminals we are not going to Tolerate Your BS in our small town. Proven in History. Got it Proven.
This video has been played with since it first came out. The ending has been cut out and a few key moments eliminated, to fit a narrative
2023 July 30 it's a great song I love it
There isn't nothing racist about this song small towns with stick together not only that you got to worry about the small towns besides them to or even within the state itself.
If these riots were happening in a small town in my state I would most definitely pack up my bags and head that way.
We help our neighbors we respect our neighbors if a tornado comes through the town or in neighboring town we all band together and help each other. We're not going to tolerate people attacking businesses and other people that's not how we work.
During the summer of protests, the following rioting is what is being addressed. Watching the news, you could see a huge antifa influence. What was mostly peaceful protesting was corrupted.
You would hear people say “try that in a small town “as the antifa rumors were that it would spread to the small towns.
What he is saying, is unlike the large cities that held back the police, and let the cities burn that would not occur in a small town. The people would not allow.
I think this song has done more to bring people together to say WTF about the woke comments that this song is racist.
This is the GREATEST country song ever!!!!!
Guitar 🎸 is the same as in Beat It. Especially at the end.
100% agree with Aldean...Powerful message...don't be bringing that crazy destructive stuff to us. We will protect our families, our neighbors, church, and community. FACT!
My thing is.. doesn't matter if you're country or city... most of us have a community... and what I get from this song is ... we take care of our own... I was born and raised in a small town... Can't even go to the Food Lion without running into a family member... but I do believe that city ppl have their blocks or apartments .. and they all know each other too... This song is about not putting up with criminal behavior... Period
My mom knows Alden he’s not like that he’s just a small town country boy very respectful. I’m from a small town in alabama u won’t get it if u we’re not raised the way you are in a small southern town.
I know black friends who call themselves "good old boys". It's not about race. It's community!
wait, when he says "Round" is he also refering to them having the biggest guns too?
Hes talking about small communities and small town fighting together to protect one another and how government will never take away their freedoms like taking away their guns small towns will protect they rally together protect one another from all wrongs crime wrongs governmebtal wrongs all wrongs of crime they protect one another by banding together to right any wrongs they dont condone and join in on wrongfulness they ban together to protect
There is no hidden message or anything like that. Defending yourself and your livelihood is not violence. We had a guy burning houses down in my small-town neighborhood. He got the house three doors down from me. Luckily they were out of town. He’s lucky he didn’t hit my house.
There is no subliminal message. Listen to what the man is saying. Nothing more, nothing less.
New sub
The small communities welcome everyone. We´ll take care and help eachother no matter race, gender, religion. When was the last time you talked to the mailman is what its really about. We dont need all the big city drama nonsense. We good
My Small Town has 3 Cops and 1700 Registered Guns to back them up. 😊
Music is open to interpretation. But honestly, if anyone takes this as being racist and search for racist undertones in it, that says more about that person than it does about the singer. Not one word in this song was directed at race. It was directed at small town vs cities. Anyone who says it is racist is themselves a racist. Do they really think only white people live in small towns? I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm half an hour from the nearest stop light. I've got hispanic neighbors, and a couple black neighbors too. And we *all* have one another's back when stuff goes wrong. We're an average of 40 minutes for a response to a 911 call out here. We *have* to take care of one another. Cities don't have that.
Thanks for understanding that this is not a racist song.
Like what underlying stuff
I might subscribe, waiting to see your reaction
This song became my ringtone ❤ i wish i had a small town supporting community that'll help and protect me against the leftist rioters here... Each time I listen to this i get goosbumps and teary eyed 😢
God bless!
The song is about rural America.
White Black native American Asian Indian European .
We are all AMERICANS!
I don't see anything in the song that is racist or against protesting. Peaceful protests are a Constitutionally protected right all Americans enjoy. The scenes depicted in the video are NOT protests; they are criminal behavior and that is not protected by the Constitution. Sucker punching someone, carjacking, robbing a liquor store, looting, destroying stores and cars - those are crimes, not protests. Can't understand why some people can't make the distinction between peaceful protesting and violent criminal behavior. Protest all you want but if you bring that criminal stuff to a small town, the town will deal with you; obey the law and you'll be treated just fine. Don't see anything wrong with that message.
Defense against violence
born and raised in a small town. One thing no one is talking about. We do not care what color your skin is. We do not care what god you pry to. We do not care what your sexual orientation is. All we care about is, Are you a good person? If you are a good person, We will go through hell for you. If you are not, Well, then we have no use for you, and you are on your own.
There's no hidden meaning. It's simply self-defense. Protect your own. We won't stand by and allow it.
I don't see why people are thinking "racist". Doesn't matter anyways if people think it's racist or not. If you're an outsider, white and want to commit criminal acts stay out of small towns because they will defend themselves and property. If you're an outsider, a poc and thinking about committing a crime stay out of small towns because they will defend themselves and property. This is not discriminating against anyone, all races are included. As for people already living in a small town they should definitely know better than to try to pull off criminal activity, thry definitely won't get far, everybody knows who they are.
If caring about your neighbors, and loving and protecting your families and homes is "racy," call me that.
There is nothing underneath. Why would you even go there. take it for what you see! This is where division is created. That doubt or "possible" maybe meaning is what keeps us divided. His message is clear. Don't bring that big city shit to our small towns. Nothing more, nothing less !!!!!
This 66 year old grandma ran a dude out of our house with an aluminum baseball bat, because he had a fended, my granddaughter, and our generosity. Did not take him long. No, I meant is this I have had no trouble from him again he knows I mean it small-town bread and raised.
So you a gangsta too! I like it ⚾️
"Underlying stuff"
Dude, you lost me on that.
Pull up Aldean and Luda on stage and that should tell you what you need to know. I lived in Louisville Kentucky when they had the challenge of slapping random people for no reason. At least half of the perps were white. I had crackheads tryna break in my house in the middle of the day while they looked at me through the door. They were white and my black husband and son went after them. Let's just agree to say those crackheads never did that again. My husband is an ex football player and I called the cops and said y'all better get here fast he's gonna kill em' . It's not all black perps trust me. I moved to the country in a small town 😁
The whole point that I see is it's about self-defense and standing up for your community in a small town and the gun reference was talking about threats of gun grabbing or going and taking peoples guns from them. We're not just gonna stand by and let that happen especially in a small town!!
U live in these cities .u don't see these images as a big deal .but it is .
Why do people try to use color to divide us. Treat everyone with respect and kindness. This song is about good people standing together against evil.
Nothing underneath. , take care of your own. Big or small town
He's talking about criminals in general and if you try that in a small town you're going to get dealt with so anybody that is calling racism on this song and says it's about black people that makes them the racist because they're calling all black people criminals
Read the book. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD.
I don't think he's promoting violence with violence...I think he stating the fact that this is what where living with now n the ppl that are causing these problems got away with it... He's stating a small town will handle their own...And I'm stating in ur a criminal don't come in a small town or a neighborhood n look for trouble then u don't need to worry about anything..
that why black people need to stick together stop hate on each other we can have better place in life got stop this
No one is saying he's racist that has reacted, so far. There has beenhave a political suggestion as why.
The point to the song is far simpler than people make it out to be. These people are ruining their own homelands by acting like animals, and yes us who live in small towns think it's outrageous behavior and would do something about it if anyone behaved that way in our small town. It's more love of our country and even patriotic and has zero to do with racism. It's like saying have more respect for the area you live in, we are all part of the US of A, put into a song.
Nobody is offended by this song. Race baiters just trying to find something to get mad about.
Don't start nothing won't be nothing
I don't think there is a hidden message. There is no "race" in there. I think it is just saying keep the city violence (that the media tried to justify) out of our towns unless you want it back ten-fold. There is no justification for destroying or stealing an innocent person's property or assaulting someone because you think your emotions "justify" it. Peace, Love!!
I have nothing to say personally about the music but where he shot it and the people that he's shorn in it that's doing all the bad stuff are black people so it's not about the song personally is about how he protraded it
The BS about it is that where they shot the video 100 + yes ago they lynched a black man in front of this court house
Theme song from the Duke's of Hazzard
Just a good old boys
Never meanin' no harm
Beats all you never saw
Been in trouble with the law since the day they was born
Straightening the curves, yeah
Flattenin' the hills
Someday the mountain might get 'em, but the law never will
Makin' their way the only way they know how
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow
Makin' their way the only way they know how (yeah)
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow
I'm a good old boy
You know my mama loves me
But she don't understand
They keep a-showing my hands and not my face on TV, haha
