Lara is the GOAT not because of the sheer amount of runs he scored (and he scored a lot) but how he got them. He was so much fun to watch, so stylish. Used to dance around on the crease and somehow still used to nail the shots. Only batsman I loved watching bat even when he was destroying my team.
The greatest of all time * besides Bradman..
Bradman is a freak, in the nicest sense of the word. Lara is đ. He has the massive runs like all the modern greats PLUS the flair and entertainment of Richards.
Mari v ehi khaal hai sir
@@therealmega762 and still holds nearly every single batting record nearly 100 years later

My childhood is filled with memories of this guy. Those were the days when watching cricket on TV was special and precious.
Yes ABSOLUTELY.
Same. And yes, content overload these days...!
Right hander Lara is lefty bat ,Sachin is lefty and a righty bat . Guess that's why they had so much control over their top hand on the grip.
Sachin is right handed
Sachin is ambidextrous ,means writes and eats left handed ,but bats and bowls righthanded .
He had power distributed equally.,so he was equally good off both front and back foot.
@@devonspaulding3221 he is left handed bro
@@devonspaulding3221 sachin is left handed and plays right hand. Its well known fact.
@@Ram369k sachin tendulkar considers himself left handed. Many times in interviews he has pointed it out.
How beautifully has he explained the right left handed confusion
Brilliant Charles Lara
Brian Lara the G.O.A.T. đčđč
The goat
Nah Viv
Viv dominated bowlers Lara breaks their spirits. But technically Lara is superior and yes I did see Viv play
@@normanholmes11 Viv dominated bowlers to win Lara broke spirits to score runs. Thereâs a difference. Playing to win and just playing đ€·ââïž
@@normanholmes11 their ur a lot of great players but I hardly believe their will b another Brian Charles Lara đ
Brilliant!⊠I can listen to Lara all day that high back lift and flourish đ„
Still remember that 277 he scored against us in 92/93 @ the SCG. It was seeing a legend in the making. I think he was run out in that innings? Scary to think what he might have gone on to score had he not been run out. That innings is just as memorable today. When Lara got his eye in, he had big, big innings. This was one guy you never wanted to give any chances to because he made you pay big time. As an Aussie, I was never disappointed when Lara batted well against us because as a cricket fan first and foremost, it was such a joy to watch. Legend!
Healy didnât have the ball in glove when he removed the stumps. He knew it too but took the out.
for me he is best batsman i have seen in my lifetime.
Amen!
Absolutely well said! Great observation!
When you are dead too.
@@wycliffefahie607 Yeahman! Yuh Nuh! Indeed!
@@wycliffefahie607 I am still young enough ,maybe someone will along the way and surprise us.
Just learned more about batting in 9 minutes and 38 seconds, than I ever learned in my entire life đ. A right hander batting left handed on purpose is mind boggling.
400* and 501*. Records that will never ever brme broken.
This is what geniuses are made of, analytical observations! This is the flair of B.C. Lara's Excalibur Batsmanship of left, right get the work done!
Agreed well said and well OBSERVED.

Brian Lara is aesthetically the best cricketer world cricket has ever produced. When he gets going he was the most pleasant sight of the game. No matter how many runs and 100s Tendulkar have scored but when it comes to the quality of test innings anyone has played it's undoubtedly BRIAN CHARLES LARA - THE PRINCE OF TRINIDAD đ
đđ
Watch out, you'll be bombarded with jealous Indians commenting that Sachin is the god etc đ
Jealous about what ??? Facts !!
@@pummyy my point proven đ
Mcgraths bunny?
Lol
Good batsman. Rather watch david gower or vvs or the more elegant of the waugh twins.
Lara was a fantastic player of spin bowling . absolute legend
"He dances down the pitch and lofts it over extra cover.........."
My O My, Brian Charles Lara has been the hero I've always had the highest respect.
His batting is work of art.
The way he stitched his career to emerge as one of the game's best batsman is just phenomenal.
I always wanted to be a cricketer while watching him play.
Take a bow legend.
No matter what form of cricket emerges.
Test cricket will remain the undisputed king of all formats.
Sachin Tendulkar had Sehwag, Dravid, Azharuddin, Laxman, Ganguly.
But Brian Lara only had Chanderpaul and others were Rubbish. Brian Lara was One Man Army. Best Batsman in last 30 Years BRIAN CHARLES LARA
Careful the Indian army will be coming for this comment
Sarwan and Gayle in their prime were very decent as well.
@@c3vzn
Even I could have added Gambhir and Yuvraj. They were good but not great same with Sarwan and Gayle. Gayle became better Player after Lara retired.
That was post 2001. Before then India was basically one man army
Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan....
B.C. Lara's Excalibur flair of batmanship on display! Greatest ever! The true Natural Mystic that blew through the cricket arena, yeahman!
Arguably the most elegant batsman that the game has seen! He is the original opposition annihilator
Nooooooo!!! Original annihilator?!!? Have you heard of The Master Blaster IVA Richards!!??! đ đ
Pure goosebumps even listening to him explain!!! Just feel like he should play forever or have someone exactly play like him in this era!
Absolutely TRUE
Batting with high back lift made me a fan of Lara
Just watching Lara bat was a delight- the most stylish batsman ever
Lara one of the greatest batsman for this era.. always he was into tough situation to Bat.. THe King Lara
What a class act! No one but Chanderpaul can stand next to him!
Nobody at all can stand next to him! Chanderpaul was talented no disrespect but lara was in his own class!
Are you kidding? What about Kallis and Tendulkar?
Cricket Westindies need to hire this legend, ASAP!
Dont expect any logic from WICB, you seeing the team they sent over, thank goodness its just two tests
Naw. The problem is not coaching it's development. Joining as coach is a reputation killer
GOAT! No one can be like you. Respect legend
Brian Charles Lara. The legendary left hander. The great Trinidadian. Coming from a Jamaican. My favourite batsman. Forever.
In 12 years time, the Australian cricket team is going to be filled with left-handers
... who are actually right handers but want to use their left hand just to guide the bat.
@@connorduke4619 Yep!
:)
Good - More of us, less of them.
In 12 years, the Australian cricket team is going to be filled with Indians.
I met Brian Lara last week
Anyone else missed Shane Warne here, #GoneButNotForgotten he would've loved to give his valuable comments. MISS you Warnie.
+1
What a Champion you are Brian. So smart!
GOAT. I watched days and days of cricket on TV growing up in Adelaide and always enjoyed watching Lara, Hooper, Ambrose. The Windies were amazing.
The Best I have ever seeing bat!
Great interview! I could listen to Lara all day. What a champion.
Iâm ten years old. And I went to the st.Andrews golf course in Trinidad and Tobago and met him and my brother got a fist bump đđż
This guy was a master and loved to watch bat
Excellent insights ! Lara literally nailed it when he said 30 70 to 50 50 to 70 30 and the bowler doesnt want to bowl to me was simply amazing & speaks a lot of his mental toughness ! Also him acknowledging how sober Gilly was behind the stumps earned my love & respect for both him & Gilly as the greats of the modern era ! đđ»đđ
131 matches 11k+ runs thatâs crazy đź
I never realized he was right handed and used it as top hand power.. makes sense looking at it⊠like tennis playing a backhand
Plays golf right handed
Sachin left handed batting in right ,lara right handed but batting in left that's tells the bit of success of them
I wonder if he had a good reverse sweep then
He was a great left hander batsman &he had faced great bowler's in his career
I like Brian Lara so much !! A great legend!! đđ
His focus is immaculate
Greatest ever...poetry in motion wen he is batting ....
I would love to watch this video thousand times.
What made him great was his high strike rate and ability to find gaps and power in his shots.
Brian is unquestionably the greatest batsmen to watch playing. Just a genius in the.most difficult conditions, not just a flat track bully.
He dominated in Australia, in England , India, at home in the West Indies.
Most importantly he destroyed England and Australia ina declining the bit maintained his superior standards, truly truly class player
No left hander is even close to him . My all time favourite Lara 2nd to none â€
Aesthetic to watch him play, GOAT.
Ohh the 90s nostalgia ! Cable and wireless series with Match starting at Night...And we could see the WI pacers and carribian dancing batsmen..
The best that ever graced the sport. Box office at its best. Always good to see the Prince.
Brian Lara. What a legend and such a gentleman.
Thanks for sharing, that back foot triggers moments , great sharing by legends .

This man has all the good techniques to assist our players to become great players.
You were a work of art, sir.

Thanks Brian for the pro tips. Scored my fastest 30 (with 5 boundaries) in the first game I tried your grip!
Great see to master classes from real master.
Blessed to have lived at a time to witness Lara bat.
Wonderful player BL
I was at edgbaston as a 14 year old to watch last 100 or so of his epic 501 for Warwickshire vs Durham. Headed to ground straight from school, oldies were wondering where heck I'd got to, worth the telling off and some. Flicking 6's off his legs like he was grabbing an ice cream, great memories, goosebumps thank you (SIR?!) Brian Charles Lara đ
This man made me love cricket hes just glorius to watch I was 7 years old when I first watch this man bat oh my God ur a goat of cricket living attacking cover drive Legend â€
That shimmy down the pitch, can still see the speed of foot followed by the quick bat swing and the ball disappearing over the bowler's head.
My favorite batsman.....the great B.C.Lara
"sometimes I could see the bowler didn't want to bowl to me".............đI have a lot of sympathy for the bowler!
One of the greatest classiest batter to ever play the game, Lara in test matches is a masterclass. What a legend he is. My uncle loves his gameplay so much he named my nephew after him. And the surprise is I'm from south India. That's how much influential Mr. Brian Lara is.
Great Man!!
For me, he's best ever
Backlift â€ïž
Real god of batting
The greatest ever
What a legend.
Nobody comes even close to Lara's left-handed technical brilliance and flourish. He can still give the present-day batters a run for their money.
Some will say Garry Sobers
Lara is GOAT because he played his brand of cricket and scored tons of runs when WI were not that formidable as a team but still he won matches for them singlehandedly, what a genius
Brian you're a total genius, your style of batting is just one of a kind. Whenever you're on the ball it's like a delicious meal đđđ
