      @@rvs1444 Steve Waugh did inherit a world beating team from Mark Taylor which he turned into an absolute dominating force in the game. Mark Taylor is whom I considered the greatest captain of all time along with Imran Khan. He was instrumental in turning a young Warne and McGrath into becoming the most brutal match winning combination in world cricket and also he was the first captain to beat west indies at their home in nearly 16 years which is as great an achievement as that of Greame Smith whose South African team became the first team to beat Australia in Australia in almost 16 years . And for all the great things Steve Waugh's team achieved they still could not beat India in India which he himself said many times as the final frontier for his Aussie team .

    Levity aside, what I liked most about this video is how these masters interacted. I'm looking for egos and one-upsmanship to emerge and they checked that at the door. Respect for one another and collaboration on instruction were evident. Each was distinct in expression, unique in perspective, but committed to cooperative instruction. They didn't speak as one man: they supported the aim of the session positively. Well done!

Don't know what it is, but something seems to have been lost over the last few years. Windies decline, Aussies average, England usual mediocrity, the rest indistinct from each other. What a great video. Unbelievable players these guys...destroyed the morale of many a bowling attack and their oppositions fans happiness too! (Ponting in the 2003 WC was ruthless)
    Even when training in Fighting sport, the head is the balance...where the head goes the body follows.

    KP Gilly and Ricky.. absolutely genius..

  • @mosawirshah4282
    @mosawirshah4282 Před 4 lety +1

    Ricky is explaining it simply as where he looked at the pitch to ascertain his position in regards to play that ball.
    KP in regards to his switch shot of less risk and along side looking at the ball from the right eye.
    It was overall good lesson

    outstanding video - each of the pros had something different to say. This speaks to what Gilly said - everyone works out what works for them. But the various factors driving their actions are illuminating.

  • @willlloyd9480
    @willlloyd9480 Před 4 lety +3

    this really shows that to achieve greatness ponting had to really graft at his technique, whereas the other two just had to get out of their own way and allow their instinct to kick in, in order to score the big runs
    So interesting to see the different perspectives, neither of them better than the other, but mindsets and natural ability very different

    Gilly was my favourite player growing up just a great character on the field, one of the original two way Keeper/batters and in my opinion Australia's greatest wicket keeper, stats may disagree but it was his presence that really hyped the Aussie team and he pestered batters at times and other times had casual laughs with them. True legend!

    I can see Steve Smith's stance just as they described in right head/eye movement. He is really a conservative batsman. That's his basic are very clear and one of the current greats.
