- Winter time is often when a lot of people hang up their fly rods and wait for spring. But if you have warm clothes and open rivers, you can still swing up some great fish. Here we were actually swinging soft hackles on our trout spey gear for whitefish, but sometimes you get a nice surprise!
Yeah! Winter fishing and the feeling of peace. It cannot be compared to anything else.
I love how the snow dampens everything, and the color palette becomes reduced ... its fun and tranquil
I feel like I almost like this more every time I watch it. Really like how you capture the mood. Really stands out in the flashy world of fish porn
Thanks man, it's definitely a favorite of mine. I hear you are buried in snow right now. My inlaws are out there trying to ski, but I think they are just snowed in where they are staying.
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker it’s deep!
I have just started flyfishing, so I enjoy watching these videos. Nothing like catching a fish on a fly rod. The action is just amazing. Great video
Tis the season , Thanks for the video
It sure is, now i just need to get out more myself!
Neat channel! I very much enjoyed watching this. I have been blessed to fish Colorado for 30 years and truly love fly fishing most out of any other style.
Do you do much trout Spey? Would be fun to hear how that works out in your area.
Well done. I really enjoyed watching this.
Thanks Rich! Appreciate that. Have you had a chance to make it out fishing this year yet?
Very nice, love the cinematic feel!

Nicely put together video.
I was thinking of picking up a switch rod. Looks fun

let me see if there's something I can do.
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker All right. Just shoot a mail with your coordinates at info@lemouching.com and we'll sort you out. we've got someone traveling to upstate NY this week, you'll get your cap ^^.
This is awesome. What’s your go-to line + tip setup for swinging softies?
I like using the rio scandi trout spey and then an a medium sink rate like ips 3 10 ft sink tip. Sometimes ill do an intermediate head. In the winter the fish tend to not move a lot so i like getting the fly lower in the column than warmer months
Blue was so skinny. She looks like an egg roll now.
Haha
