To save one Spirit, one must stay to take it's place. The mum on the other hand knew exactly what her mission was even before they got to their destination, but the mum did not see what was the final outcome for herself only for her daughter and her daughter saw the final ending for her mum. This movie is not easy for anyone to really understand what is happening. For me it's ok.
