We are basically just a small group of friends who wanted to go out and make a fun little movie, and we had a blast doing so. Well, it’s finally here! “Down the Road” is my first (completed) feature film and I’m so excited to share it with you all. This was a project many years in the making, and was the hardest project I've ever tackled. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into making it, and I hope you enjoy!

Haven’t watched it yet but for the fact that the crew has even stated that they made it with a group of friends and was mainly for fun, I give that a huge thumbs up. They stated that one should not expect it to be perfect cause they’re still learning and I’ll definitely watch it❤😊I love how real they are and not trying to sell us a fake idea of a perfect movie.

This gem found me on CZcams - this film needs to be entered in a film festival or two. Great combination of suspense and the mysterious, mystical woods, the acting is decent, cinematography is well above average, and an original story with interesting twists. Will be viewing this one again!

I absolutely LOVE this little Indie gem! I get so very tired of the many distracting and discouraging agendas pushed in big Hollywood films, and this is much more than the occasional breath of fresh air with its interesting story, intriguing mystery, and true message of love and friendship, all topped off with surprisingly excellent acting. I was impressed with the authenticity of the whole package, and I would LOVE to see this kind of movie get real attention...give the public a real alternative to Hollywood.
"A greater love hath no man than this; than to lay down his life for his friends..." or something like that. The compassion throughout was a beautiful thing, and it is good to be reminded sometimes of the tender side of humanity. There is so much more to life than building up material things. So much finer to value the lasting treasures of the temporal world.

I thought paperboys went extinct, I am seriously loving this soundtrack. It brings up the hair on the back of your neck and really keeps the pace going. Music can make or break a film and you made a great choice.
Incredible movie. This came up for me out of the blue, and I was intrigued. Everything about this movie is just right; writing, plot, characters/actors, cinematography.
Completely done from the heart, which cannot be duplicated in Hollywood these days. Not answering to producers, but to yourself. Just incredible.

If this was your first attempt at a movie, it is nearly a block buster! Some of the acting was a little stiff, don't shine a light into the camera, EVER, but I was glued to this all the way to the credits!

I'm not one to usually comment, but this movie deserves an applause. I was glued to it from the moment it played, all the suspense, not knowing what will happen next. It was completely unpredictable, unlike movies we commonly come across. Great acting too! Keep it up, hope to see more. Thanks for making this!

This is a masterpiece by itself...what a story,acting,direction...everything absolutely perfectly placed...its an award winning movie and must watch for everyone....Kudos to the entire team...expecting more from these genious.

Gotta pause and jump on to say that as a thoroughly devout fan of Stephen King, by 3:59 I had the strange sensation I had just read an entire King short story...cannot wait to watch further. Kudos to you all; this is very seriously impressive.

This is a very good film. Towering trees create a tunnel shrouded in heavy fog enticing all to want to know what is beyond. I was captivated by the woods and what mystery they held. The music is beautiful and eerie. The poignant ending, wow. I couldn't yearn for a better film which drew me in from its opening to its ending.

You can never really see and know the light till you've peered into the dark. Into the unknown. We tend to fear that which we don't know. Good job on your film. Tense, edge of the seat style. The ending was totally unexpected. It's all the better when it's a surprise and not what was expected.

Great little gem of a film. It was intriguing, visually stunning and very atmospheric.
Oh good I couldn't stop watching it. It was so suspenseful and so non predictable. And the message was so good at the end that I copied it down and sent it to somebody who needed to hear that that particular day. And the last line how you tied it into the title absolutely gave me chills and just did again while I was talking about it. Kudos timesca million!!

It moved slowly but suspenseful. The choice of music built my curiosity to a fragile balance on the edge of a new discovery, a clue, a surprisind revelation, coaxing me on to the next rush of adrenaline! With the great cinematography and choreographed scenes I felt like I was the one running from the cloaked figure with my heart pounding! This is exactly what two teens would do to find their lost friend and not give up! Good mystery movie without the gore!! 👍🏻

Good Direction, Good Acting, Good editing... what more could an audience ask for?
I watched this a couple of months ago but didn't recognize it until the first 15 minutes or so but it was so good I decided to watch it again this morning. The was a great movie that you should be very proud of. I don't watch movies a second time so for me to watch it again I had to have really liked the movie. I've been to Washington a couple of times and I'm in love with Mount Rainier. It's funny how now since I've been there anytime I see anything filmed in Washington I can always recognize it immediately.... there's just something about Washington that looks like nothing else.

This film is brilliant! I'm so glad it came up on my suggestions feed. It's one of the best independent films I've ever seen. And it's message of hope, even with life's ups and downs, its inevitable changes, is so well delivered without so much as a hint of corniness. Amazing!

We have beautiful forests and foggy mountains here too. I love a good forest-centred story and a town bordering on a mysterious but beautiful forest , I also live in one of those..

Really enjoyed watching this. It's full of suspense but doesn't come across as intentionally scaring the viewer. That night scene where they were being chased home actually reminded me of that Nazgul chasing the hobbits at the Shire, one of the most suspenseful movie scenes I've seen.
This was pretty good guys...kept me on the edge of my seat.

Outstanding!!! Gentleman, I'll be 58 years old next month and have to compliment you on your first movie release. This was amazing! You should all be very, very proud of your work! ❤ I don't know the location you shot your movie on, but I will say this; the opening into those woods immediately brought The Dark Hedges that line Bregagh Road in Northern Ireland. What a beautiful location!!! Don't ever let anyone quell your creativity or imaginations. The story kept me engaged from start to finish. That kind of writing has become scarce. These are all things we haven't seen come out of Hollywood on the big screen for 20 + years. Stay the course gentleman.

Thank you for the kind words! We mostly filmed the woods scenes in places along the Oregon coast, and in some small woodsy locations on the outskirts of Los Angeles. However, the main entrance to the woods (the image we have as the thumbnail/poster for the film and its tunnel of trees) was actually a visual effect, a composite from a variety of photos we took in various forests. The Dark Hedges was actually one of the inspirations for us in designing that image. Though I would love to someday actually film in Ireland! In terms of the actor who played Kevin… There are actually several roles that are uncredited, due to the fact many of us played more than one role in the film. For Kevin specifically, that’s me (the director). Since I also play Chris I opted to only list myself as Chris, since I didn’t want to credit myself too many times in the credits. 😁 We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed the film! Great job! As an industry insider, you really told a new and interesting story with what you had, and it reminds everyone that story and doing the best visual storytelling your equipment will allow is more important than special effects, top-tier editing, expensive equipment, and everything else that goes with a big budget. In the end, it is always all about the story we're trying to tell. Really enjoyed this.

Ha! I was excited to see the “Bear Mountain Ski Resort picture on the wall. I grew up in Big Bear and have skied those slopes more times than I can count. Great movie! Keep up the good work guys!
Thank you! Love that you noticed that detail, haha! We love the resort too and already had the poster from past trips. We asked Bear Mountain if we could feature it in our film and they were more than happy to let us. They even sent us some extra stickers to go along with it. Great place!
