- Come with me to view the construction of the longest bridge being built at the Irwindale section that will go over the Barnett River and connect to Fairfield Irwin.
This is a US220 Million Dollar project that is between the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation and China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd who is in charge of the construction. The unskilled workforce will include 90% Jamaican and 50% of the technical skilled area will be covered by Jamaicans as well. This project is part 2b of the Highway 2000 master plan.

Thank you very informative
You are welcome. Appreciate the support.
Great job 👏🏾 ❤❤
Not only the longest bridge but also the highest in Jamaica. It would be shortsighted not to construct this bit of infrastructure in a flexible way to accommodate expansion to six lanes (inclusive of HOV lanes) in order to relieve vehicular congestion when areas around the bypass urbanizes/densifies.
I can just imagine how it’s gonna look. It will attract a lot of tourists going through the area as well to get to Negril.
@@BrownBossJaTours and to get from Negril to Falmouth and Ocho Rios....but without six lanes (including two HOV ones) this roadway will soon become very congested...especially after the now rural areas around the bypass urbanizes/densifies....
Having 3 lanes on each side of the bridge filtering into 2 lanes will cause a bottleneck on the bridge so unless the entire thoroughfare is 6 lanes then is makes no sense having 6 lanes on the bridge.
@@casssius2428 that's not what I'm suggesting...they need to build out the entire bypass (inclusive of the bridge) with enough space on the margins to accommodate two additional HOV lanes going forward in order to accommodate the flood of traffic that will inundate the four lanes once the areas around the bypass urbanizes/densifies....that's smart planning to save $billions...
Already the four lane Bogue Rd., Howard Cooke Blvd., and Elegant Corridor is suffering from peak hour gridlock/congestion....
Have you seen the Double Overpass Bridge in Three Miles, South West Saint Andrew?
Very nice moving along 😮
Yes man
Thank you Brown Boss JAT, new sub
Respect everytime….
Correction “ you’re very intelligent! Thanks!
Also as time progresses hoping they have a planned exit to the road it passes over as that is a busy road linking a lot of communities and business around that area.
A whole lot of communities will be connected and it will open up lands for development, so new housing will be introduced. The will have exit roads at each section.
I am really impressed with our intelligence. I am a ja who lives aboard and it’s embarrassing to hear some Jamaican CZcamsrs speak. My friends don’t understand the patios! It’s terrible. So I am proud to listen and watch you! Great job!!
I appreciate your feedback. I try ☺️ Thanks for stopping by. More to come…..Stay tuned….
@@BrownBossJaToursI never knew speaking patois means you are less intelligent. That’s the dumbe$t thing I have heard in a long time. In this man’s opinion, Ms Lou and all of the great patois speaking Jamaican people less intelligent. Craziest thing I ever heard.
Are you saying our good good patios it terrible and embarrassing 😮? Come on now.
As a Jamaican, I'm embarrassed by your comment. So because your friends don't understand "the patois" that makes it terrible? Our language is beautiful. Your comment is giving colonialism. It's modern day, change your mindset!
Good evening am new here I have been your blog and have a serious problem with the road construction and my family home in Irwin st James where we live for over 39yrs and would like to come and see what there are doing to me and my family thank you.
Definitely come and check it out….Hopefully everything works out….
I think they need more people to help push the work like in teams
The workforce will increase overtime.
@@BrownBossJaTours I hope it does
Do you kno Is it going to be a walking lane for pedestrians 🚶🏿♂️ and can you say if it’s going to be 4 lanes bridge 🌉
It would have been nice if the work plans had included the planned construction of the western end connection linking it with Howard Cooke Boulevard around the Fairview shopping district to the connection to the North Coast Highway first. That would help much with the congestion on Howard Cooke & Alice Eldermire. Also, the Long Hill Bypass same time in one project, 2028 is far off for a road needed from around 2008.
Time is going fast nowadays. It was just 2024 and now we are almost half way through the year. The bypass to Ironshore should be completed by the end of 2025 though.
It will be connected to the Howard Cooke boulevard as well at G15. That end has started already and will go around the sewage ponds
So when it goes around the ponds that means it's to the seacoast but I don't see much land in that area to build a dual carriageway road, can you clarify here??
@@phillipbeckford7814 based on what I’m seeing they are dumping the area with marl. The area also appears to be able to hold the dual carriage way. Once the trees are removed a lot of land is revealed underneath
@@phillipbeckford7814It’s going to cut across the road from ATL over the sewage pond then out in the water and connect to the road between Fairview and G15. So ATL will have an intersection as well as an overpass heading towards Fairview
I wander how long is one of those tee beam is
Not sure at the moment, but will find out soon.
@BrownBossJaTours okay and let me know please
