Greetings and much RESPECT oh noble Salif Keita from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬🇵🇬🇵🇬. I watched this video from the beginning to the end and I truly enjoyed it. The very first time I was told about you was in 2010 by an international musician/artist from my country 🇵🇬; he met you at the first WOMADELAIDE Festival in 1992. His name is Pius Wasi. Pius first bought your cassette the album "Soro" in 1998 in Adelaide before he had the privilege of personally meeting you in Adelaide at the WOMADELAIDE in 1992. He was with two other renowned PNG international musicians George Telek and Ben Hakalitz. A few days later on a Sunday he & I called into one of an open air second hand clothing market whilst on our way to a jazz performance at the Airways Hotel in Port Moresby City. I opted to check out some books and CDs. It was there and then I picked up a CD with the face of a man spelling the name "SALIF". I was totally thrilled, I purchased the CD for PGK7.00. I showed it to Pius, who was equally thrilled and he said to me, "get the CD, Elsie, I tell you you'll be blown by Salif's naturally powerful voice, his singing and the music". The other best part is there were two CDs inside Vol. 1 & Vol. 2. As soon as I returned home, I took out Vol. 1 and played it on my Sharp Stereo system listening to your songs from start to finish without even moving. Then I played Vol. 2 right through to the end. I was amazed and captivated by your voice, the songs and the music. I still have the CDs with me without even a single scratch.
You are truly the best of the best in African music! Mali is richly blessed in music because of you. A LEGEND you are! With heaps of admiration & respect to you & best wishes to you and family...long life to you and long live your music.
