I've attempted to purchase the Riverdale from Home Depot almost 2 months ago, and it came in damaged nearly 30 days ago and has been a nightmare to return and replace it. I still have the broken one in my possession and Home Depot has made 2 false replacement orders, I still do no have the replacement. The whole experience is terrible. I would recommend if any of you purchase these vanities online, OPEN the boxes and inspect the vanity BEFORE the delivery drivers leave, They will be in a hurry and try to leave as soon as possible, do not sign for anything until you confirm it is not damaged. If it's damage, refuse to accept delivery and make them take it back with them.
A few things...just because the inside of the drawer is solid wood with dovetail joints, does not mean the drawer faces are solid wood. They very well may be, but they also may be MDF. One of the vanities on your list actually has MDF drawer faces and cabinets. It is very true that MDF is more susceptible to moisture damage...however, if they were properly sealed when painted, they SHOULD be fine. Now, that doesn't mean that these big box stores don't sell mass-produced items from overseas that cut corners, but quality control really is getting better. However, it is of course still better to get a vanity that is entirely constructed of solid wood, but the best way to ensure that is having a contractor or carpenter custom make one for your space...and you'd be surprised that they won't charge you much more than what you'll pay at a big box store. If you're doing a full bath renovation, you may want to reconsider buying from a big box store and just have your GC include custom cabinets...but they will be a more basic, shaker style design. If you are wanting something more ornate, you'll probably have to custom order that...and pay more (for the real thing - wood that is). ;)
great vid! thanks
This video was so helpful! I've been looking at the Madsen, so it was great that you mentioned it. I just purchased it! Do you use the same products to clean cultured marble as regular marble?
Thanks so much!! This was helpful. Do you find the marble too much of a hassle to maintain?
Good point on the real wood rather than MDF or particle board. Mine right now is very old and made with particle board. There is warping in the back, underneath. I will be looking for the dovetails, too. My dilemma in the bathroom remodel is that I want a pretty mirror, but need a trifold medicine cabinet because I need to see the back of my hair when styling, and my husband also cuts his own hair with this mirror. We only have one bathroom, and I don’t see any way around this. There are no “pretty” trifold mirrors, unfortunately. I am kind of bummed about it. If we ever build onto our house (ha!), first thing will be to add a second bath, and the trifold mirror will go in the back bathroom!
That sounds like quite a dilemma with the mirror. Have you thought about hanging a mirror on the back wall? Maybe that would work? I’m glad I could help at least a little bit!
Very helpful
Do you have a link for your black faucet?
Plywood is common for the cabinet box
Bathroom vanity is the important part in bathroom design.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy from a supplier
where did you purchase the 52 inch vanity? my space is 53 and having a hard time finding a vanity in that size. only option is to do a 48inch
I have a space 59 3/4"😂 considering chopping into the wall to use a 60" vanity😂
Sorry to say but those prices are absolutely ridiculous...
I like the Beckett
The Beckett is MDF cabinets and drawer faces.
and this one time, at bathroom vanity camp
never buy a vanity if you can't see the construction most are particle board which is a cheap build and high price make sure its all hardwood.
When you said Home Depot you lost me. They don't make sell decent vanities.
I know it’s hard to believe! They actually sell through “drop ship” companies. So HD doesn’t actually manufacture all the vanities on their website. They carry a lot of the same manufacturers as Wayfair and Lowe’s.
