Did you fill-out the form N565 to request for the replacement of your naturalization/ citizenship document? If you already paid for it kabayan, you should follow-up with them.

    Great video Tifanee thank you for that! I can't find my particular situation online or in other videos so thank you for taking my question . My daughter's birth mom is PH born and a US citizen most of her life and a US Passport holder. I am US born and US citizen (and filipino ethnicity). Daughter is US born and US citizen and holds a US Passport. Daughter needs PH Passport, does daughter need to apply to be a dual citizenship to qualify for a PH Passport?

      @Tifanee08  Před rokem +1

      Hello po Jay,
      Sorry for my delayed response. Yes. If you want your daughter to qualify for a PH passport, you guys will have to submit an ROB (report of birth) to your nearest Philippine embassy/ consulate. That’s if you or your wife was still a Filipino citizen at the time of your daughter’s birth.
      Let me give you the link here.

      No need to go to the office for appointment. It’s available online. If you go to the consulate website ( the consulate who has jurisdiction over your home) like sa amin SF consulate for example, if you click dual citizenship, they have a button to click for appointments. Now I applied last year. Somebody told me they might be accepting walk-ins now so please double check. :)

Normally sa forms nila they tell you to sign or sign with the officer present. I dont remember na pero para sigurado po you can leave it blank and just ask the officer once you submit if you should sign it already? I think I signed mine already nung pag submit ko. Pero para sgurado just put a Post It po to flag it tapos ask nyo but for this application form no notarization needed.

    Just recently 2 days ago became a US Citizen, looking for the best informative blog about how to became a Dual Citizen?. Lucky!! Found your blog, now my question is if you are traveling to Philippines or any part of the world, do I need to bring my US Passport or the Philippine Passport?If you are a dual citizen is there specific one passport only for that? hope you can help me about this matter. Thank you and God Bless Kabayan!!! 🙌

    • @Tifanee08
      @Tifanee08  Před 2 lety

      First of all, congratulations Kabayan sa US citizenship mo 😍.
      If you are traveling to the Philippines you can use your US passport and just present your certificate of dual citizenship ung nareceive mo nung nag oath taking ka sa Philippine consulate. The consular officer said it’s not necessary to get two passports depende sa choice mo. Since we travel full-time Kabayan, if for example we will explore Southeast Asia or go to countries who don’t require visas for Filipino citizens, I would consider getting my Filipino passport. Pero if sa Philippines ka pupunta your certificate of dual citizenship will be enough to present. I just don’t want to travel with so many important documents kaya for now isa lang muna passport ko :)

      Nope, di mo kelangan ng Philippine passport pag uwi mo. U can use your US passport and just bring your certificate of dual citizenship pag pasok mo. Pero, if may time ka pa? At pupunta ka na sa appointment mo? i would recommend isama mo na din yung pag apply ng Philippine passport mo para maging under ka talaga sa category 1 na “Filipino Citizen” sa list of people traveling to Pinas. Ung mga nakasabay ko pati ung isang kilala ko, wala silang appointment for passport pero nakiusap sila mag apply na din dun habang nag aantay ng same say oath taking for dual citizenship. Pag may time ka pa, set ka appointment for passport. Yan yung isang regret ko sana nag apply nadin ako passport nung nandun ako. Also sabi nung nakausap ko, it will make it easier pag nag travel ka around Asia sa neighboring countries natin para di ka hingian ng visa to enter kasi baka di nila tanggapin ung certificate lang.
      Good luck sa appointment mo and again dont stress kung di ka makaapply passport that day but if my time ka, I would recommend it para din di mo dala dala ung certificate mo palagi pag nag travel ka.

If you didn’t do a report of marriage tito and you just have the regular marriage certificate from US, I think it is okay? Kasi I emailed someone before and sabi nila it was okay. I submitted my documents via email for review just to see if I am missing anything and it was okay. I just happened to have the PSA marriage certificate kasi I reported my marriage years ago po.

I was then informed to report my birth, which I did. I have to go back next week to get a certificate or something to show that the report of my birth went through. I plan to study in the Philippines for college in February, for the second semester. I am also applying for a PH passport as well. Do I need other types of documents to show that I am a dual citizen while I am there, besides my PH and US Passports? Thank you in advance!

That’s what I needed if I wanted to apply for her passport. But maybe ask if the certificate your are getting next week is enough to apply for a passport? Not sure about that kasi.

      You can print the dual citizenship affidavit- you can find that form on the consulate website or just Google, “affidavit of dual citizenship philippine consulate” in that form explain mo lang why your last name is different tapos have it notarized. With regards report of marriage naman di ako sure maybe email the relevant consulate kung saan ka mag apply to make sure okay lang ung original Marriage Cert nyo from US? :)

      Please email the consulate as well to so they can guide you properly as I am not very familiar with this 🙏. I hope you get your dual citizenship 💓

    Hello, Tifanee. I definitely received value from this video. However, because you consistently jumped between languages, I think I missed quite a bit. I am assisting my wife, who is an elderly Pilipina, to apply for her dual citizenship. The two questions that I have are: 1) Does the primary application need to be signed and notarized before the appointment? and 2) We will apply for the passport at time of our dual citizenship appointment...will they mail the passport to us or will we be required to return to personally pick up the passport? Thank you. Gil

    • @Tifanee08
      @Tifanee08  Před 11 měsíci

      Hello Gil,
      Thank you for your feedback. My initial target audience are former Filipino viewers who are trying to do the dual citizenship application and I realize over the years there are viewers like you who are non-Filipino speakers who assist family members. It is very admirable you are helping your wife figure this out. Let me try to help you as much as I can ☺️
      1. For the duly accomplished form, you don’t need to have it notarized before hand as your wife will be signing it infront of a consular officer as her witness. Once the officer checks all original documents he/ she will point to the signature section of the application and ask that your wife sign it.
      2. As far as the passport application, I didn’t do this at the time of my dual citizenship application but a fee of my friends did. The requirements are different and I think you need to bring a self-addressed pre-paid envelope with tracking number with the consulate as the sender and your wife as the recipient.
      I recommend that you check the the website of the Philippine consulate that has the jurisdiction over your current home state in that way you can check their sample envelope and also requirements.
      I hope this helps Gil and good luck with the application ☺️

Also, I watched your Vlog about doing an affidavit because of name change on naturalization certificate due to getting married. I could not find anything about that at the Consulate web page or in Dual citizenship instructions. Hello. :) thank you for watching. Do you mean the Affidavit of Dual Citizenship for change of name diba? So I wrote my name the one I have on my birth certificate and wrote my “other name” which is my married name.
      I just wrote my explanation why my name changed. So sa dual citizenship certificate ko may nakalagay na “aka/ also know as” para when I travel with my US passport alam na may other name ako. :) I hope this helps ☺️

      Hello Liza, salamat for watching.
      I am not sure about the tweet app to get an appointment. I never had to do it. But I did mine last August last year so maybe it changed? Try to check the consulate website every Monday at 8-9am and keep refreshing lang during the day when you check. They open up their appointments that day. But not sure about the tweet app part.

The one I have was the original NSO for my birth certificate tito Isidro since luma na ung copy ko and PSA naman for the marriage certificate since this year ko lang kinuha ung copy. My aunt just recently applied and her NSO copy was very old na tito pero they accepted it po kasi it’s original basta clear and readable lang tito :) good luck sa application nyo and thank you for watching po.

      Hello Alex, sorry na late ang reply ko. LA has their own consulate general so you don't have to go to SF for your application. Actually if you go to their website the consulates mention where you should go and what branch has the jurisdiction over your address.
      good luck sa application :)

      Hello, thank you for watching. For this question, I recommend email mo yung consulate to be sure. You need proof kasi to show the reason why you lost your Filipino citizenship and that’s by naturalization. Nung na naturalized ako they told us you can go to the USCIS website to order a new one if mawala kaso may kamahalan dati $700 di ko lang alam ngayon.

      Hello! Thank you for watching :) you can get the affidavit of dual citizenship form under other/ additional forms sa consulate website or you can just Google it :)
      As far as for the passport, your Philippine passport automatically becomes invalid daw when you become naturalized US citizen so you have to apply for another one kahit 2026 pa yung expiration date. ☺️ I hope this helps. Ingat

    • @Tifanee08
      @Tifanee08  Před rokem

      Hello King, thank you for watching.
      We were married in the US. A year after we got married I had to submit a “report of marriage” as a requirement to renew my Philippine passport. This was years before I became a US citizen. Because I was able to submit a report of marriage, I was able to request PSA to send me a copy of my PSA authenticated marriage certificate. I recommend that you email the consulate if your original marriage certificate is enough :)

      Hello po! Under the FAQs in their website po they answer this particular question- the pros of being a dual citizen as well as if you need top pay taxes. In my understanding po in their website, only income earned in the Philippines will be subject to Philippine tax and also kung may property kayo dun. But if you do not work sa Phil po then you don’t have to pay anything. Good luck sa dual citizenship if you are pursuing it po ☺️

      Hello sis thanks for watching. Yung unexpired na passport mo it becomes invalid agad daw the moment na naging naturalized citizen ka. Yan ung sabi sa FAQs sa consulate website and nung officer na nag assist sa akin. So you will have to apply for a new passport ulit. ☺️
