I do love Under the Sign of Hell (actually have it on my phone right now), but as far as Gorgoroth goes, I really have to side with the King ov Hell era albums. Fucker has the "gift of riff"! 🤘

Imo, Darkthrone is more Ambient, Gorgoroth more heavy, evil-ish and grim. Both are great
I find Darkthrone to be Cold,Grim occultish by atmosphere and sound,it’s Gorgoroth who are Melodic to me.

Please make a comparison of fast technical vs. old school death metal. Some suggestions to include: Nile (e.g. Lashed to the Slave Stick), Immolation (e.g. Furthest from the Truth), Suffocation (Liege of Inveracity), Bolt Thrower (... for Victory), Dying Fetus (Grotesque Impalementand), and Six Feet Under (Victim of the Paranoid, Ghosts Of The Undead etc).
Ravishing Grimness is a super underated Darkthrone album. Across The Vacuum is an epic unto itself.

As someone who is not a fan of black metal, as I cannot stand the tone of the vocals.....I have to say just hearing the guitar riffs are amazing! If there was black metal *without* vocals, I'd like to hear that!

Darkthrone’s so intrinsically Black Metal that honestly the only band that I think outdoes them is Emperor. They have an atmosphere like no other in my opinion, and they had a unique sound compared to other black metal bands during the time.
What can I say luv them both but darkthrone has more of an edge for me 💥💀👹AHS666
