Came with Stanton 681 Cartridge Body with 6324 etched on the side at the factory it looks like (appears hand etched). Replacement Stylus is 68 with EEE under the 68
I own a 1229, 1218, 1216, 1215S, 1225, 1226, and 506. I love all of the tables. All were completely refurbished in the last 5-10 years ago. All still in great shape. 3 of the tables were originally purchased by my father and me.. They all sound great and track we'll.
Why is the 1218 not a high end turntable? What in the build, parts used, quality, makes it less so? Just curious because I recently bought a 1218 specifically for playing my 78s.
turk1eighty2 well hay well I have the same one but mine dose not stop spinning and I would recommend a older turntable for 78s or you k ow you have to have a bigger needle
The "Start-Stop" lever should be centered, not canted to the left. Fix is easy, loosen setscrew under chassis, beneath lever, center lever, tighten setscrew. The 1218 was considered a high quality turntable, nice tonearm & drive with great specs
If you're asking about removing the platter, there's a small metal ring at the top of the center shaft above platter. Simply pry it off with a small screw driver (watch that it doesn't fly away).
well i don't if you will read this my opinion 10 inch platter or 12 inch platter I never heard any difference I had a 1225 which I gave to a friend of mine who wanted to start playing records it had a 10 inch platter never heard any difference I got a 1009sk the platter on this one is 11 inches and a 1237 TT this one has a full sized platter I hear no difference the 1009 has a 4lb platter boy its heavy but I love duals the quality is fantastic ,I read that some consider the 1218 not as good as the 1219 or 1225 was not as good and 1237 not rated high I don't understand why such critique I do not have a 1218 yet working on it thats why I watched you vid the ones I do have sound fantastic to me they all came with original stylus shure 91 hi-track maybe its the cart all I know the 1237 came in with the shure and stylus was new it was never used they are quiet and work flawlessly i have no problems ,I always liked thorens but I never could find one for a low price they always are sold for a lot of money but this was very good JRo
Have you ever heard of punctuation? I gave up trying to read and understand what you were trying to say after a few lines in. Sorry, but not using proper punctuation is just plain lazy lMHO..🤔😵💫
That baby puts my modern Audio Technica AT-LP120xBT-USB to shame, how have you got this wired up to the amp? Is it phono or 5 pin din? Also do you have to change the whole cartridge for playing 78s? Reason I ask is I have my eye on one on Ebay
Old video - Sold this a long time ago. A toy in comparison to this one I rebuilt: czcams.com/video/fxSznGmiHpo/video.html Then I sold that one and here are some other toys I rebuilt: czcams.com/video/ce3YsmhBZBg/video.html and czcams.com/video/ZrIAWB23kk0/video.html

Fixed and sold long ago thanks😉
How did you remove the turntable as I see no way of removing it. There is a clip on other models this doesn't seem to have one.
