Sorry, in no way does her "mistake" match the level of his deliberate action. If you make a decision that leaves you vulnerable, you do not automatically deserve bad treatment from bad people.
100000000000000000000000%
Yeah, also people often lut the choice into the hands of artists, to have a fun surprise...its not like she did something entirely crazy and for him to "make a Joke" in her face...damn
@@Lia_lg yes BUT THEY LOOK AT IT BEFORE ITS DONE ... just saying, I have let artist pick tats for me but I always look at it before they start !!!!!!
@@notyourgma well thats great for you. You're smarter than NYGF. You figured out what she could have done differently. Fine.
It doesn't change that his artist is a sick weirdo who thinks it's funny to make people miserable. He put the art on her, no doubt to "teach her a lesson," and coaxed her into going along with it. It's really disgusting IMO, 100X worse than being young, reckless, and having poor boundaries. Its abusive.
Ohhhh I feel for her 🥺
She wasn't really that stupid. She didn't trust a drunk guy she found in a back alley--she trusted a professional artist's opinion in his place of business. There's always a degree of trust placed in someone doing permanent changes to our appearance, and I wouldn't want a tattoo from anyone that I didn't feel I could trust.
People blaming her for daring to trust another human being, instead of blaming the psychopath who thought a tattoo on a stranger's face was a good place for a mocking joke, need to get their priorities straight.
I don't get what the joke is. as a practitioner of witchcraft and a former sex worker, that tattoo is hella powerful. I would be doing an invocation every day to make that money! I would feel so empowered with something like that. I'm not sure why she thinks it's a joke or he did it to be mean. he did it clearly because she's about that money! I would take it as a compliment.
@@Pugetwitch Yes, that's why he was laughing... because it was a compliment... The joke is she's a stripper, and the intention of the artist is pretty clear - He thought it was funny to demean her with something permanent and not anything close to what she wanted, that she now has to pay loads of money to remove. To put her down because she's a stripper.
@@Pugetwitch The "joke" is nothing more than the association between strippers and dollar bills, which it seems he found far funnier than she did. From how she tells the story, sex work is clearly not something she identifies with in an empowered way, since she got out of it when she was able to and wants to "put it behind her." And, as an atheist who doesn't believe in the supernatural, religious beliefs are a whole other issue. I'd be just as mad to be given a magic spell against my wishes as I would be a stripper brand. Both of those things are far too personal to tattoo on someone without explicit permission.
@@Pugetwitch you're tainting the craft with this purposefully ignorant comment. It is very clear the tattoo artist did that piece with malice. It's also clear the woman who got the tattoo was upset and damaged by it. Your expierence is irrelevant and absolutely not an excuse to ignore the subject of this videos pain. You aren't a witch, you're just a self obsessed jerk tbh and I hope you never "get that money" 😊
@@PugetwitchI get what you mean but his tattoo was an active way of mocking the girl who had it on her. She didn't choose to wear her work on her face, he permanently labelled her as a sex worker and (I do not agree with seeing people in the sex industry as this) a whore in some people's eyes
regardless of how ”stupid” she was - it doesn’t change the fact that the artist chose to do something horrible and disgusting. honestly blows my mind that people act like it was okay for him to do something so disgusting just because she wasn’t thinking things through??? people are so gross.
Yes! 100%.
"Stupid"? She was not "stupid" but that was definitely a stupid decision!
Not only was it disgusting but it was also disfiguring. WHY would someone think it’s “cute” or “funny” to brand someone like that. I’m just floored. Absolutely floored. Also I wouldn’t call her stupid, naive yes, but stupid no.
What kind of b.s. was that guy on. The worst part was he got a kick out of doing that to her.
Did you ever consider that maybe he genuinely thought it was cool. I think it's cool. IT'S A FACE TATTOO. Anything you tattoo on your face is going to be wild
@@KendallM0219 it's not a branding at all, in the sex worker seeing something like that would be looked at as dope. The girls I know that hustle at clubs like magic City and cheetahs got tattoos that are way more off the hook than this. A branding is different. I grew up in Seattle and on Fillmore in San Francisco with real pimps, my cousin was a ho who is murdered by her pimp back in the day. like, dude probably thought that he was hooking her up for her game at work. That's the way I see it. especially if he knows other dancers.
girl is not stupid, the guy was a malicious, misogynistic bully who didn't give her the respect and decency a fellow HUMAN BEING deserves
She didn’t even go to him saying “Give me a surprise face tattoo”, she wanted a specific one and he pressured her into letting him choose it. A young woman not being able to stand up for herself in the moment and trusting an older supposed professional is normal, but intentionally tattooing something humiliating and ugly on someone’s face is cruel and evil behavior. Everyone should be warned about him.
Yes!!!! I have like 10 or so tattoos and I’ve only just started getting good and intentional about standing my ground during appointments regarding placement, size, details etc. it’s MY body afterall!!!
That tattoo artist should get "client abuser" tattoed on his forehead and only get the permission to remove it after 7 years.
I know it's harsh but I really hope that he didn't abuse/trick any other client...
I hope she sues.
If he felt comfortable doing that he probably did other terrible stuff as well 😭
He seems like the kind of guy to “hide” something like a dick in a meaningful tat as a joke.
The misogyny in that artist is through the roof. He clearly didn't respect her nor even see her as fully human, since he couldn't empathise even the tiniest bit to understand how this would affect her potentially for the rest of her life. She wanted something small and he bullied her into agreeing to the surprise. A few minutes of laughs to him was worth the eternal humiliation and pain to a woman. The things misogynists will do to women who haven't wronged them in any way are mindblowing
This. You know damn well he would have never done that to a man. But the fact that she let him do what he wanted on her FACE is also insane. Putting that amount of trust in a stranger is crazy. That kind of self destructive behavior will put you in situations like this with evil people.
@@puffball4484there are multitudes of professional, amazing artists that do surprise tattoos or have "trust the process" processes (freehanding, restricted prompts) that are perfectly fine and respected for this work. why put blame on her when she was coerced into a surprise only to be made the butt of a misogynistic joke ? her only fault is being impulsive and maybe not doing her research (if he had done the same to others prior) which she owns fully.
@@achewy7700The internet was younger 8 years ago with less reviews. He could have been a newer artist working in a shop as well.
Also - she wasn’t impulsive. She clearly knew what she wanted and was pressured into a ‘surprise tattoo’ by him manipulating her into thinking her idea wasn’t good enough.
My jaw actually dropped when she revealed why he chose what he did. I felt SO bad for her, especially being so young and carrying this thing around for 7 years! Plus getting lasered SUCKS... and to have to do it on your face! What an awful POS to do that to someone.
yeah thats crazy
The lack of empathy that comes from the belief that everyone is 100% rational and in control of every situation they're in 100% of the time is so draining to me. Like, we all make mistakes, we all understand power dynamics, peer pressure, etc. The fact that some people like to get on their high horse and shame others for being taken advantage of instead of shaming those who take advantage is so sad.
1000%
Well stated!
THIS
Exactly I relate to her so much especially with getting my hair done and not liking it but not being able to speak up (ik it's not the same beaches a tattoo is permanent) it's hard when speaking up will lead to conflict
This story is an a complete horror. I cannot even breathe, I am so appalled at the misogyny, arrogance and utter malevolence with which that tattoo criminal (I can NOT call him an artist) assaulted that beautiful, trusting, young woman.
As someone who grew up in NYC in the 1960’s & 1970’s and was assaulted many, many times, even raped, as a young woman, I have to say, this story shocked me to my core. This is one of the most despicable actions I have ever heard of. My heart goes out to her. She did NOTHING to deserve being demeaned and branded by this revolting excuse for a man, much less a human being!!!
I think she should expose him in any and every way possible, for the monster he is. Shame on any and everyone who adds to the abuse she has suffered.
Thank you for bringing this story forward. My heart broken that any woman should suffer this anywhere in the world at this present time. I encourage all young women to become extra vigilant for their own autonomy, safety and sacred integrity, at this current time of increasing attacks against them both culturally and in the legal system.
Idk if everyone should jump to conclusions.. imagine if she lied about being forced to get that tattoo being around a lot of tattoo shops I seen a lot of younger girls come in and want all kinds of crazy face tattoos and the artist say no and they literally beg to try to get it… I have a face tattoo I got when I was 16 .. should I also say that the artist tricked me ? Just cause I regret it ? .. I just think the artist should be found and hear the story before everyone just cancels him
As a SA survivor this story made me feel sick. This man took advantage of a young girl’s trust and used his power to mark her body in a way meant to shame her. He should be punished for that, at least by losing his tattoo license. But I also fully understand why she doesn’t want to expose who he is, she’s been through enough already. I just feel so incredibly heavy for this girl whose only mistake was to trust someone she should’ve been able to trust. And the abuse now being thrown at her for being “dumb” when that disgusting “artist” continues tattooing people is absolutely fucked up.
@@supremethelegend9699 it's like you didn't even listen to the same story wtf is wrong with u
I understand these things can be upsetting, but that response seems to indicate a serious trigger you should work on. The guy was 100% in the wrong, but this isn't sa
@Heather Lynn she was literally BRANDED just for being a SWer. If you can't see the connotations behind that, idk what to tell you.
No matter how « irresponsible » a client is being, a tattoo artist should never abuse their power and shame a client like that. Those boomers are fucking clueless
Those Facebook comments made me so upset. Zero empathy for a girl that was taken advantage of. It probably wasn’t a great idea of hers in the first place, but everyone makes dumb decisions. Apparently years of embarrassment isn’t enough of a consequence for them. Not to mention the blatant sexism… yikes.
It’s a shame that sharing her experience and trying to correct her mistake has only brought NYGF more judgement. I hope her removal goes well and she’s able to look in the mirror without being reminded of her experience soon 💝
Facebook being Facebook. That shit is a cesspool of brain rot
Bunch of boomers
that's why i deleted it. they preach love thy neighbor until someone does something they disagree with
Its boomers what do you expect their humour is about how much they hate their wives and kids
💝 Her story is so relatable. The peer pressure to trust an "expert", then get punked for doing is traumatic. Even worse that she is bravely sharing her experience without invoking drama and people are hailing upon her with inexperienced judgement. We all have yolo times in our lives, so everyone can find some way to relate to being taken advantage of by an abuser. I have a less terrible, yet similar experience where the tattoo artist violated my trust and am currently paying 4x the amount to laser if off...at least I can hide it on my leg. Does she have a GFM that can be pinned in the comments or description box to help NYGF get her face back?
I’ll check if there’s a gfm thanks for that suggestion! I totally agree and so sorry you had a similar experience 🖤
My mom went to an older tattoo artist who was very well respected within the tattoo scene of my state. He was intuitive and a master of his craft, but he was very critical and was known to refuse doing tattoos if his critiques and warnings weren't headed. Anyway, she went in wanting a classic 1920s in color Winnie the Pooh and said that she wanted Pooh outlined in brown instead of black. The artist told her no, that the tattoo should be outlined in black just like the original animation because he was concerned it wouldn't look good otherwise. My mom stood her ground and insisted the outline be brown. With a huff, he accepted and did her tattoo. The tattoo turned out so precious and delicate with the brown outline. When it was over and they were both admiring the tattoo, he verbally agreed with my mother that brown was the better choice. The tattoo healed/faded beautifully and you can still see Winnie the Pooh's brown outline after 20 years.
ilovethis.
so glad your mom followed her gut! good for her.
As soon as she mentioned her age, I completely understood. It can be difficult to stand up for yourself at that age. He probably was young too...because that is not a mature thing to do to someone. (man-child). That's not an excuse, might be an explanation. I'm glad she got it removed, like she wanted. I feel bad it happened in the first place.
It also feels like the whole vibe of that day made it feel impossible to stand up for herself, the vibe was "let's impulsively get tattooed" and at that age in the shop of a skilled artist you don't want want to be a 'buzzkill'
He couldn’t have been young I’d he’s a professional with a shop. Regardless there’s no excuse. It was misogyny. Not immaturity
That is so wrong. She was young and inexperienced and she just trusted someone that was supposed to be a professional. She even wanted something completely different but was told by the "professional" it would look stupid. I honestly don't think it's much of her fault. She was manipulated into something she didn't want.
This poor girl, he should lose his license honestly. Taking advantage of a young girl like that is just disgusting and now she has spent so much of her youth with that right on her face having to see it every day. It’s a red flag also that he would tattoo someone so young on the face as a walk up which he knew was impulsive even if it was a nice tattoo. If he was remotely decent the tattoo would not be on her face, he would have told her no another placement or told her she needs to go away and think about it and come back. Also her idea wasn’t stupid, it’s not my cup of tea but I have seen several like what she was saying she wanted he was clearly pushing it into this situation from the start, scumbag.
It must be great to be one of those rude FB commenters that never did something dumb or been pressured and taken advantage of when they were young. She's not asking for handouts, she's fixing the situation in the best way she can. She's just trying to help others avoid something so traumatic and life-altering.
She’s literally being the elder giving warning on situations to look out for and be careful of. She’s doing a better job than 90% of the boomers on Facebook leaving cruel comments by telling people to be wary and to double check semi/Permanent things before they’re stuck to you by showing how her naivety, anxiety, and trust was abused by a man she thought was a professional in the field.
I 100% understand why she made this "mistake". I have extreme anxiety, to the point I apologize for things others do to me. Oops, sorry I'm in the way of your spilling hot coffee. He fucking BRANDED her. It's DISGUSTING.
1. I really like your videos. The amount of care and research is noticeable.
2. Imagine if all of our sh*t decisions were marked on our face forever. Every one would be wearing a burqa. NYGF don't deserve those boomer comments.
3. I wouldn't call that piece of sh*t an artist. He was way more than disrespectful, he was sadistic. I don't believe in karma, but I hope he regrets it. And she doesn't deserve the stress of exposing that piece of sh*t. 💝
Totally agree with your comments on the “ artist “ in question !! Thanks for watching though happy you like the content 🤗
Thank you for being so kind to this girl, people victim blaming her will hopefully never have to experience being in a position where they cant stand up for themselves x
21 face tattoo you don't know what their gonna put on you because your nervous? Love gtfo that IS 100on HER
I see so many people calling this a mistake on her end, but I really can't see it as that.
Giving an artist free hands is so incredibly common, and when you go to a guy at his studio, whose a friend of a friend?
I know so many people who have gotten sleeves etc like that, it's not uncommon.
It's sad she didn't feel she could say no due to anxiety, but really she should have been able to trust him.
Going into a tattoo shop is already kinda intimidating, because you’re getting something permanently put on your body. Then if you have severe social anxiety, it makes it worse. None of that even takes into consideration how often women feel intimidated by men just in general. He basically just talked and or intimidated her into complying. She told him a basic idea of what she wanted and he told her it was dumb and let him do something. He could be the best tattoo artist in the world, but if he doesn’t listen to his clients he doesn’t sound reputable at all. He sounds completely in the wrong to me. If someone walks in and has never gotten a tattoo before, it’s that artists job to take care of that person. Terrible that that happened!
best thing to do is TURN AROUND and find a bookstore find a good book on history get a coffee and start reading
This hits home. Fortunately, mine isn't on my face. But when I was twenty I got forced into a tattoo I didn't want (I didn't get what the 'artist' had shown me on the stencil and knowingly messed my arm up) good on her for getting it removed and not listening to the haters. I'm still unsure whether I want tattoo removal... It's so expensive but this *sshole branded me
you know that you can take them to court for that, correct? if they didn't give you what you guys agreed to.
I am literally crying watching this. This is so wrong in every possible way! I also know personally how it feels to be pressured by a tattoo artist to get a tattoo I don't want and have it lasered off later.
Tattoo artists need to RESPECT their clients and leave their ego at home! Why is it so hard for them to do? They are in customer service business after all - or am I wrong?
it shouldn’t be on her for being vulnerable, it should be on the professions who took advantage of her
it should be on both parties. most of the blame should go to the guy, but who gets a tattoo without seeing what it will look like first?
Her mistake to trust a well known tattoo artist does NOT take away from his hateful act of putting her down through permanent ink.
Imagine a world where people instincively supported victims and people who have been taken advantage of, rather than ridicule and blame them to offload their own pain. 💝
The dude saying only men should get tattoos was literally the most stupid comment I've ever seen like wtf 💝
Also to the men commenting this on her life... Is this was their mother or daughter they would suddenly be super caring and sympathetic and go like "yeah that man is evil!!! He pressured you!!!!" but when it's a stranger people like to unreasonably sneer
It’s such an unfortunate situation to be in , I give my artist free reign for most of my tattoos and love the outcome.
I couldn’t even imagine her taking that and then doing something malicious with that , I hope all ends well for her and she can finally be rid it / move on permanently soon 🙏
It’s not a ‘boomer’ thing it’s a person lacking empathy thing. That occurs at any age. I can’t imagine what the poor girl felt when she saw that, I hope karma gets the bastard that did it. And yes, I am a boomer, and I dislike prejudice of any kind…
Wow. That is truly awful. This poor, young woman! I AM a boomer and have a fair amount of tattoos (2 - 3/4 sleeves and my lower legs covered and more bits and bobs). I get what she went through. Even in my last tattoo I just got (at 60 years old), I missed seeing something in the design (after it was drawn on me) and I'm not happy with that part of the tattoo - but reasonably happy with this fairly large tattoo as a whole. I'm OLD and don't have social anxiety, but have anxiety and get so amped up right before a tattoo, that it's hard to "see" EVERYTHING in the tattoo - on the stencil or hand drawing. I would never get a face tattoo (personally - other people can do what they want, of course) - but I CAN truly imagine being in her shoes and doing the same thing she did - especially at 20 or 21. I'm glad she can get it lasered off now. But I really feel for her - the hate she is getting from some, online, is NOT FAIR. I wish her all the best and the tattoo artist should have been SUED, IMO (but the court system is very expensive, etc., etc.). Edited to add: 💝
I had seen this story before and I find it appalling the way she was treated not only by that tattoo artist, but by much of the general public. I 100% agree with your assessment Celle. 👏
erm, they might be boomers that are commenting on the facebook post, but they were also predominantly men. I feel so bad for her. Shes obviously in the process of letting this incident go as shes talking about it, and having it removed and going through the process of healing, so good on her!
I’ve watched a few of your videos today for the first time, and to me, a lot of these tattoo horror stories can be attributed to women being taught not to stand up for themselves… you hear about stuff like this all the time with relationships, salons, tattoos, jobs, etc where women (particularly young women) are too afraid to stand up for themselves and say no. I feel that way too sometimes and it’s f’ed.
The non-stop “Karen” stories don’t help this issue either, young women see these horrible older ladies going viral for “asking for the manager” and being bossy and rude or whatever and because we don’t want to be seen that way, we react by not even being able to say no when we really really should. This was an absolute violation that happened with a completely unbalanced power dynamic. I feel horrible for these women with permanent and very visible reminders.
We all have to remember, it’s YOUR body, YOUR money, YOUR life… we have to learn that it’s okay to say “absolutely not!”
This situation reminded me of an experience i had getting inked at a professional parlor for the first time when i was 20. My friend and i found a shop that we were recommended from coworkers (other young women)so she dropped me off after we were getting the sketches started. They are on my ribs underneath my arms so the artist told me i would have to take my shirt and bra off for him to be able to do his work. Like i said, first time in a shop, i had only had house tattoos and stick and pokes before and had no idea that you dont have to take off anything you dont want to. He took FOREVER cleaning up my sketches chatting up a storm, didnt get started till there was no one else in the shop, then kept me after closing. He even asked to hug and kiss me afterwards, thank god my friend was outside waiting for me or who knows 😣 It is so sad and heavy on my heart that people would abuse their position of power for their own pleasure when it hurts people on so many different levels. I personally get tattooed because i think it looks beautiful and my ink reminds me of the aspects of myself, my experiences, or the people i love that anchors and grounds me. For people to taint these very personal forms of expression and milestone experiences never ceases to baffle and disgust me 💔
I'm SO SORRY that happened to you.😔💔
@@spidernymph8964 thank you so much for listening ! Your kindness is everything 🙏🏽❤️🩹
I can definitely relate to not feeling confident enough to speak up in tattoo shops 💝
I’ve been getting tattoos for 6 years now, but in the beginning I didn’t feel comfortable standing up for myself to say that I didn’t like something. We feel like we’re supposed to trust the experts because they should know what do, right? I’ve learned that, when working with a good artist, they won’t get really upset if you point out an aspect of the tattoo that you don’t like (or the tattoo in general). They’ll work with you until you’re both satisfied, or just tell you that they might not be the right artist for you (and that’s totally okay).
Personally, I love my tattoo artist. I recently got my chest tattooed and in the initial design, there were a few details that I didn’t like. We reworked a part of it and now it’s one of my favorites tattoos, and my artist is super proud of it :)
The frustrating thing about her not going back on the artist is the fact that these type of people don't just do it once. You know someone else has suffered from the pain of that artist. I think it is also truly sad that she was shamed more by the media. I def send everyone some love going through this. I also identify the pressure of tattoo shops when you don't have many yourself. You try and trust the professional being an artist and being in their hands.
yup she's just letting him get away with it because she's afraid of conflict. That's my only criticism of her in this whole thing. SMH She's protecting him IMO
I let an artist talk me into a totally different design than what I wanted, I can relate to being a pushover and leaving feeling like you don’t know why the fuck you just did that. At least it wasn’t on my face.
That artist was horrible do her. He could have done a flower, a star, and he chose the dollar bill design.
He could've given her what she wanted. Probably said no just to trick her.
I am so glad/lucky that as a woman I was able to find a shop in my town owned by and staffed with women. They are all so chill and don't give off the gatekeeping vibes.
As a man yes tell us when we’re out of line. so many guys are assholes and genuinely don’t see it. because people just put up with them and them and then separate.
So glad you've made a video on this 👏🏼 I really wish we knew who the artist was so we could name and shame. But I also respect her choice to not want to 💝
I think she definitely did the right thing by not calling him out. Seems like a win-win or a lose-lose.
Excellent video, as usual. Honestly, I'm three years too young to be a boomer, but damned if those people don't p!ss me right the fvck off on so many fronts. Being cruel to other humans is just stock in trade for them. Good for NYGF in getting that piece lasered off. Abuse on the part of the artist and absolute disrespect is abhorrent. I do appreciate the handoff to karma though. There are things in life that simply have too high an emotional & mental price - like perpetuating the original pain, rather than moving on like NYGF is doing. Karma will balance the scales of the universe. Trust in it and move forward. (obviously that doesn't apply blankly across the board, but when its reasonable to do so...) 💝
i love that you’re always so attentive whenever you look at other’s clips/vids
I have a 21 year old daughter my stomach is in knots listening to this. Utterly reprehensible what the tattooist did I'm so sorry that happened to her. Such is the evil that exists in human beings, unfortunately we usually find this out the hard way, through experience. Glad it ends well for her.
I just love your content, format, and personality! Finding your content has made difficult days easier.
I don’t know anything about tattoo-culture, so I didn’t really understand why one might not be able to stand up for oneself. But now i fully understand, because you explained it really well. it’s probably not uncommon when young people get their first tattoos.
I'm so sad for her experience. Both that she had a negative experience of stripping/dancing, and that she was essentially branded by a stranger in this way. I'm so glad she can now get it removed and close that chapter out entirely. I hope her removal is going great and she never has to think of that shitbag ever again
I also had laser removal because I was 20 and I accepted a design I didn't love. I asked the artist to change it and they said "well I've already spent a long time drawing this".
I love your sweet empathetic way of telling your stories. Keep up the good work! ❤
I love the kindness and grace you handled this with. Subscribed!
Hey celle! I absolutely love your videos and your delivery, Ive been subscribed for a couple months now and I’ve learned so much, i love your energy! I was wondering if you would be open to covering unique placements or compositions of tattoos? I think it would be a fun idea 💗
That’s a great idea I’ll look into that thanks for the suggestion 😁 happy you enjoy the videos 💓💓
I don't have tattoos and I don't plan to get any but I've been binging your content haha.. love your laidback vibe and empathy for others x
She is quickly learning something I learned many years ago, as well, which is that 1.) all people are not rational. And not only are all people not rational, some of them are that way intentionally. In addition, 2.) everyone does not have your best interest at heart…even when you spill your guts, even when you beg and plead and ask them to please respect your waning mental health. Some people also get off on having that power.
The cherry on top of this shit sundae is that just the very nature of social media is increasingly causing people to become more abrasive, irrational/illogical, more calloused and unyielding, etc. Just because they can! And I think we see this across the board - it’s happening on all platforms and it happens to pretty much everyone. Even we who are aware of it can’t help but comment something snarky from time to time; things we would absolutely never say to a person’s face. And unfortunately, I don’t see this aspect of social media changing ever. It may even continue to devolve the human race back into fucking knuckle-dragging, shit-eating cavepeople 😂 aka the Croods
it's funny that I'm at the stage of my life now, having gone through a series of horrible relationships that have left me shattered as a human, lol and now I have rebuilt myself pretty much, I just find out ironic how everybody's talking about narcissism, autism, and other things that I've actually been dealing with personally and that have came to a head over the past 6 years. it's actually kind of empowering because there's a lot of information out there about pathological individuals, which I now realize I have been surrounded by and am also won myself, although my own unique brand of pathology seems to be a blend of multiple cluster b trades, with a side dose of cluster one postpartum a few years ago. lol I'm also autistic, which I was told at age 37 after being in multiple abusive relationships for over 20 years.
The two places where people are the absolute worst are Facebook and Reddit. People will absolutely rip someone to shreds for nothing. Even on subreddits meant for people to get advice can be super rude.
💝 Such a great video
💝
Love your videos!
That tattoo artist is a degenerate to do something like that. No integrity or depth in character whatsoever. I’m sorry that happened to her and I’m glad she’s moved on and getting that off her body.
I am half way through the video and I am so sad and hurt. This is victim shaming. She got insulted by a guy and then gets shamed for it. It is disgusting that these boomers or whatever shame her instead of this Eww of a thing that tattooed this on her. I makes me feel sick.
Edit: she didn't do a mistake, she was young and naive at someone abused this fact to insult her. He is the one to be shamed solely. I hope she gets lots of support and will be able to leave this behind.
Videos like these make me very very thankful for the tattoo artist that I have♥️
I love how incredibly thoughtful you are. You seem truly empathetic and it’s refreshing. Thanks for being you and Im so happy the removal process is going well for nygf. She or any person don’t deserve that. Truly disgusting on the tattoo “artist” behalf, definitely some underground misogyny.
💝 I learn so much from watching these videos and can’t wait to see your apprenticeship and experience grow. You’ve got a top notch love for everything tattoos. I’d like to see more history about artists like Ed Hardy
Hey celle - just felt so badly for the woman who got face ink that made her feel degraded. It had nothing to do with her value - just said a lot about the immaturity of the tattoo "artist". BTW - I am a Boomer and have nothing "bad" to say about someone who is beautiful, inside and out, who shares her story of MATURING into a self-loving, smart woman. We are all young and stupid at some point - we all bear the burden of our misjudgments. It's ok - each day we get to learn more about ourselves and our world. LOVE your videos and no, I do not have any ink, nor does anyone in my family. I just love you and the culture you present.💝
This kind of behavior makes me wish tattoo artists had to get a license or go to jail for practicing the art without having the credentials 💀
Her response to the posts article was so perfect.
That's so messed up of the artist. I like the idea of the crystals. Screw the boomers. I'm glad she's finally getting it removed since it bothered her so much. I always like your take on these videos. People are often way to quick to judge over things they don't understand.
This is such a sad story taking a sadder turn, I feel so sorry for the girl. A bit off topic but regards to laser removal ,I have heard how it is a long and painful process. I have been getting laser hair removal and on my last session, the person doing the laser accidentally barely touched one of my tattoos and poof there's a dot gone never to be found again. No pain no nothing so it got me thinking (the tattoo is black and grey, the laser touched the outline for the most part so one pass was more than enough to suck the black out of it)
this is reminiscent of when traffickers will brand their hostages against their will or by persuasion. so dehumanizing and controlling :( great video 💝
I wanted a tattoo done by a certain artist, but they actually left the studio after I booked. Instead of telling me, the studio waited until I showed up to tell me they had another artist for me. The artist's work seemed alright and I had driven all the way out that I didn't know how to say no. The tattoo isn't the worst thing in the world, I still got what I wanted done, but the lines and quality were nothing like what I wanted from my first pick. They are incredibly wobbly and there's so many mistakes when you look close. I completely understand not being able to say no to artists, and its very unfortunate that some will even take advantage of that in such a way like this. I hope her tattoo fades fast so she can feel better
Thank you for making this video. I’m getting my first big tattoo tomorrow and I have not seen the finished design yet. I’m a little nervous that I’m not gonna like it and I won’t be able to say no. But I’ll definitely have your advise on my mind tomorrow. Hopefully everything will go well. BYW I love your content! ❤️❤️ I watching from Colombia 🇨🇴
This is unfortunately pretty common practice, my artist did the same for my art piece, in the studio his brother made fun of him for that, haha! It's a way artists have to protect their work, making sure you for example don't take their design and run elsewhere. All you need to know is if you are not happy with the design, you can just walk out, if a small element doesn't please you, ask if it can be changed, this is even more important with big designs. YOU have to be happy!
I kinda wish she would expose who did it so that other people don’t go there and make the same mistake
hi from Paris ! love your videos !💝
I got a tattoo of a lady bug on my hand for my aunt that passed. I personally had a picture of what I wanted and the tattoo artist scraped that idea and told me to go larger because he could do more detail. Of course, I trusted him and wanted the best detail I could get…. Well, it’s basically a blob on my hand. Kind of looks like a spider. I had a different person tattoo vines to make it look better. STAND UP FOR YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU WANT.
💝 Could not agree more. ESPECIALLY your concluding thoughts on SW
Gaurentee the artist would NEVER do that shit to a male
It's crazy to me how mean people are. My first thought was I wish I could help this girl and start a go fund me for her tattoo removal.
And how can people write articles about you without letting her know? that same so exploitive. ❤
💝 Great video
💝💝i fell in loooove with your content even tho it has only been 3 days. you deserve all the love and support you already get and so much more. oh and a one last thing have a lovely day!
💝 thank you for taking this stand. Mean comments are so unnecessary and unhelpful.
Upfront bias disclosure: I am in the Baby Boomer age cohort by random chance; I made the choice to be a feminist in the late 1960s, which makes me a second wave feminist.
I think what happened to NYGF with that tattoo shop owner (I can't bring myself to call him an artist--sorry, not sorry) was horrifying. As you said, he used manipulative tactics and social pressure to assert power and control over someone who was probably younger and much less powerful (in that environment) than himself. I'm not surprised she doesn't want to out him, despite the fact that he richly deserves it: I've had well over 50 years to observe how we, as a society, treat whistleblowers and it is not pretty. Generally, it turns into a personal disaster for the whistleblower.
But... celle, do they actually post the age of commenter's on the NYPost's comment section? And, if so, do they do any sort of verification? How do you know that those horrid comments came from people in my age cohort? I mean, I think about the people I know and while I am acquainted with some who would have no understanding of the dynamics that led to that tattoo, all of my actual friends would be just as horrified and angry as I am. Of course, most of my friends have tattoos as well, so there's that (potential skew due to limited population sample).
Is it possible that you may have some bias of your own in viewing certain opinions and making certain assumptions about the age of the people who express those opinions that are not actually supported by the facts?
I agree with most of your commen but the reason celle is assuming the age of the commentors in the facecebook post is that most of Facebook's user base is older gen X and babby boomers
I got very lucky, when I went to get one of my first tattoos the guys printer was down and I wanted to get a quote in a girly font on my shoulder, I was rushing so I really wanted it THAT day. He ended up freehand writing it out in a cursive sort of gothic font, and I'm so grateful because I think his version was more mature and its something I still love. Its a tattoo that grew with me, if I had gotten the font I thought was "so cute" I'm fuckin positive I would have covered it up by now xD
It’s not her fault for trusting a tattoo artist that is literally their job to be someone, you can fucking trust
💝Really interesting topic. I can relate, to that feeling, when you first start your tattoo journey, not feeling ‘comfortable’ about what to say and do in a tattooist shop. I have a couple of tattoos that really didn’t turnout the way I envisaged .
I
Had this happened to my gf, sister, cousin, etc, the artist would have lost his ability to use that hand for quite some time.
I hate those type of comments - it's her fault?- no! You should be able to trust a tattoo artist not to actively shame and humiliate you for who you are!! He branded her as a joke to him, absolutely shameless!
I'm with you, Celle. This tattoo artist needs to be exposed. If he did that to one girl, he's done it to others and will continue to do it until he's stopped. 💝
Facebook boomers acting like they haven’t done anything stupid in their life
Your videos make me want to get my second sleeve, only a matter of time.
That tattoo artist 100% violated her trust and did it on purpose to be funny and disrespected her, which makes it 1,000x worse.
If anything, her story very very much needs to be out there! (She’s brave for sharing!!!) But younger people NEED to hear her story!
I will never get tattoos myself...but dang, she should *not* have gotten that much criticism. That tattoo artist should have been ashamed of himself. Wow.
Hi ! great video, all good points. Can we have an update on your face piercing ? how's that healing up ? 💝
Not only did he brand her, but it didn't even look nice, like the fact you cant even tell what it was and its on her face, not mention how dark it is, i honestly just hope its able to be completely removed unless shes does to the point its faded enough to get a cover up with something nicer that isn't dehumanising, also just because you give free regin to artist, it does not give a free pass to do shit like this and I'll be interested to see what his clients experiences with him are because thats clearly not the first time for him
It's as if the public heard. That she wished she had stood up for herself. Then went "Oh, free pass to also exploit her."
It's very frustrating. This example is a great snapshot into what is wrong with society as a whole. When vulnerable people express their experiences, the public tends to bully that individual with logic. It's very sad.
I appreciate her candor
💝 I remember doing in to get my first tattoo with coworkers, and I wanted a small word in my lip and they were like no so I understood because it faded so they convinced me to get it big as hell on my hip. I LOVE IT! But I understand completely how intimating it is when they recommended something
I always wanted the USS Enterprise tattooed on my hand. I went to 3 different shops, all of them telling me that they would not do a hand tattoo unless I had at least a half sleeve first. But I didn’t want a half sleeve and never will; I wanted my Enterprise hand tat only. So it was at the fourth shop that I finally found the artist that would do it for me. It turned out perfectly, and the only time I regret it is when people comment on it/ ask to take pictures. I work in customer service and people always ask me if I'm a trekkie. I say . . . "No ... not at all..." 😂
Tattoo artists want customer trust, but then, bullies do things like that that diminish customers and other tattoo artists.
I do sympathise with her, the artist was very disrespectful tattooing that filigree on her. He knew very well the symbolism of it, not cool at all 💝
