You can use your astromaster for deep sky objects like dumbell nebula and ring nebula, please photograph it
Use a focal reducer to reduce focal length of the scope and increase the f ratio. Also, I can make a telescope mirror for you, of your desired focal length and aperture. You would just need to bear the material, coating cost and courrier charges.

Yes light pollution is matter but You can still get a telescope and use it to see some objects.

For a cheap deep sky setup i will recommend u to buy celestron inspire 100az or astromaster 102az or meade polaris 102az tube,a tracking eq mount,and zwo deep sky camera..or a DSLR.. I'm sure it will capture something unexpected in this budget
