Lt's concern for Joe on the field told you the whole story about how LT felt about the situation sportsmanship should always be respected
Joe: L.t I'll be back
L.t: Yeah I knw but not tonight
Legendary #respect both guys
And if anyone remembers watching the game, they replayed the replay over, and over, and over, and over, and over...
5:38, when the other team is yelling for the trainers, you know its bad.
“It was a good one” 😂
Lmaoo mayneeee hahaha 😆
LT was every bit as good as Joe Theismann thought Joe Theismann was.
A reminder of how brutal and unpredictable the game can be. I'm happy they both seemed to have made peace with it.
It’s impressive they put up that many points back in 1983 when QBs could get assaulted & wide receivers could get decapitated across the middle
it wasn't intentional. not like the jerk that picked up Jim McMahon and slammed him to the ground on his shoulder. that ended his career. he was never the same passer after that.
Great story two NFL football legends Joe Theismann and Lawrence Taylor.
Yes they were the MICHAEL JORDAN and hulk. Hogan.of the nfl in there time LT was the goat
Remember, Monday night football was the only national televised game back then, so the whole nation saw Lawrence Taylor destroy Joe's leg
Wow the whole country. Those must have been amazing ratings
mf thinks he’s a historian or thinks he can analyze america’s watching patterns
@@dspsblyuth in the nation's capital. So much irony
And americas team
@@fredo2x625 the patriots are Americas team now. Bandwagon fans
For the record I hate the patriots and Brady
A admire the Respect between
Joe nd L.T
Wow look at the shape of the once great RFK stadium..such wonderful memories there for me back when the skins were a true powerhouse. The risers bouncing up and down, the seat cushions..it should be at least cleaned up and treated with dignity. It's so much more deserving for all the legends that went to war on that grass. Wow..just wow.
Hard to see RFK in such bad shape. I loved watching the Nats games there when they first came back to town.
That was my last memory ever of RFK was going to a Nats game when they were the new team. I thought of all the Redskins games and the WHFS festival I went to in that stadium. (I want them to build the new Redskins stadium in DC just like it was when I was a little kid and a teenager/young adult... Signing off, a Springfield kid in Phoenix for decades at 49... My parents still live there so maybe they don't want the stadium in Virginia causing traffic problems)
Pretty much reminds me of the Joe Theismann's injury in '85 that ended his days of being a Quarterback for the Redskins. Broke my heart😢😢😢😢. Poor guy. Hope it turns out better than it looks. 😢😢😢
Thrilling QB, my first favourite player
Lawrence "I don't do things halfway" Taylor.
Lmaoo ayeoo
Joe Theisman humbled? Impossible
Yes it hurts! My Femur was folded in half I remember how much it hurt! Understandment!
Absolutely Legendary👑🙌🏼💎💐💖🌉💫🗺🕊
This was two years before I was Born. I heard about this when I was in college, as I was trying to look back at the Giants history being a Fan myself! It was an unfortunate accident, but to this day Joe Theisman has never blamed LT for breaking his leg. He knows it was not LT's intentions
I really miss the Redskins
Joe Theismann Best Quarterback For Washington Redskins From 1974 To 1985 And Play By Play Announcer For ESPN Sunday Night NFL 1987 To 1993
Wish football still was the old days
56 snap the leg but it was 55 who did the latter of the damage , his weight crush Theisman.
Damn, Taylor's a big tall guy!!!
LT is as great a person as he was a player. Sad to see RFK in that condition. Ruins of the NFL's golden age.
Dude was the worst person that ever played football
I watched it live I was 10 years old
Lt goat
LT > Jack Tatum
One showed sportsmanship, compassion and divinity and the other said 🤷🏻♂️
When the game was more violent the players were more respectful when they left the field. Today it's much lighter touch yet more trash talk after the fact.
Because back then, you could get away with slamming someone to the ground. Now you get a flag for looking at the QB wrong.
I watched this happen live on TV and it was awful. Then the network kept replaying the clip of the break ad nauseam throughout the game.
why would you call a flea flicker with LT on the field
Same coach that called the screen in the Super Bowl......
Washington Redskins!
Besides the horrible accident, the piling on top of Joe Theismann was so unnecessary after he was down already.
Nothing against Lawrence Taylor I respect his accomplishments in football and even the concern he showed towards Joe during the injury. But I also felt he was a tad bit arrogant about it with some of his jokes. Yet I also understand that could just be a mechanism used to cope with what happened and how severe it was.
yeah dude it’s a defense mechanism he’s not prideful of that
I had the feeling that both of them went through that talk hundreds of times. What gets me is him saying that he never watch that
Only Carrol nd Russ Will Call nd Play was worst
Terrible play call lol
Lawrence Taylor and clean don’t go together 👀
