"Born to Lose" Lyrics
I’m living life on a fault line
While you deconstruct my grief
And I think over and over
Why was it him instead of me
Now I have everything to lose
Or is it everything to prove
You won’t be happy either way
‘Cause I was born to lose
I’m born to lose
My gloom’s a shadow over you
You don’t see I see it too?
Yeah you know I’m born to lose
You can pull apart my words
And question everything I say
It doesn’t change the fact that I
Miss my friend more every day
Now I have everything to lose
Or is it everything to prove
You won’t be happy either way
‘Cause I was born to lose
Come now deconstruct my grief
Yeah you can tell me what to think
Come now deconstruct my grief
Don’t fucking tell me what to think
‘Cause I’m born to lose
You are here to salt the earth
You will get what you deserve
I’m born to lose
My gloom’s a shadow over you
You don’t see I see it too?
Yeah you know I’m born to lose - Hudba
This song is an obvious reference to those that preyed upon Joel's grief presented to us through "the gifthorse"
I don't remember his name but some music critic called Joel out on 'not being really sick' and 'trying to profit out of his friends death'. Obivous bullshit.
While not mentioning it directly in the interviews done before this post, it's pretty obvious what Joel's talking about.
For real, fuck some amity haters. Joel pours his heart out on every song. Nothing against those who cant get into the sound but to shit talk someone who's presenting themselves as vulnerable and struggling? that's low.
The Gifthorse is incredible, quickly became one of my favorite songs of all time. You can truly feel the pain in his words.
I saw people trying to also criticize Sam Carter for making, "Gone with the Wind," trying to say he was trying to monetize the death of a friend and fellow band member, even though his friend, the guitarist, wrote all the guitar work for the song and Sam cries on stage whenever he and the rest of the band are clearly distraught over the lose of someone they loved.
People just grasp for the lowest straws to insult people anymore.
@@itsinugami Didn't know about that, makes my blood boil. I always thought Tom wrote gone with the wind before passing.
Also, yeah, that alexandra palace live video when Sam breaks down, shit hits hard...
@@arthurlarrubia Tom did write it before passing, it was his last song. So it means alot to the rest of the band.
Is it just me or would this song live be an absolute experience
Zombie I’ll tell you if they perform it on Wednesday 😉
@@samfielding9335 please do
Ayy can't wait to see em May 22nd
Sam Fielding So how was it?
@@samfielding9335 did they play it? 🥺
Definitly amity affliction is my light in the dark life
Mine too.
well this is definitely my favorite off the new album
Kelly Rauser Same it doesn't feel forced like some of the others.
This one is a fucking banger!
Intro grabbed me right away but I think it could’ve started with screams, that riff was just so heavy! Chorus is dope
I agree, would've been dope if he started the song with IM BORN TO LOSE then went to the riffs
Deffiently one of the best songs on the album, mix between Let the ocean take meand This could be heartbreak vibe 👌
Spot on
This riff gives me huge Beartooth vibes I love it
Made me think of TDWP instantly.
2 seconds into this song and I'm already like ... Damn🤘🏻
Espectacular!
TAA for the past year heavy!!!
I always come back to this band. So many fucking feeling in all these lyrics. Can’t get over it.
Just seen you's live for my first time and what a gig, the atmosphere was immense can't wait to see you's again.
The breakdown is mmm when you have a good stereo or good headphones with bass
Bruhhhh ... Ain't it tho 💯🤘
TAA FOR LIFE!!
OH HELL YESS! I love this one so much
the breakdown is nice
the best of this album..
Born to die back from Chasing Ghosts, now Born to Lose! I know it was a cover but I like to compare it
This song is fucking sick man 🔥 and I’ve just listened to the whole album. Dudes are back in full force.
That hook before the chorus hits the eardrums just right. Idk what it is but that is an absolutely mesmerizing melody
Dude I feel so out of the loop, I'm just now finding out about this album and it's already been out almost a year. Never disappointed. Die hard fan my guys, much love 🖤.
Awesome!!
You Ahren and Joel have got me through so much. I love your music.
Great song i love it!!!
I love how you can hear ahrens screams in the background in most of the songs it's great
Wait where in the song i don't hear them?
The high screams are ahren
This change is a welcome one on this track🤘🤘
The only thing that could get me to stop watching NiN Woodstock 94 for 10 minutes.
oh yes! this is great
Good tune
favorite song off the album.
Nice 🤟
Best on the new album so far
Long time fan since the first album guys came along way every fucking Album is a banger can't wait to see you guys in Florida
This album is dope as fuck 💀🔥
Holy shit that start. I don't listen to this band often but holy shit, this is good.
Yuhhhh
Great
Please play this song live on the tour
👌👌👌
Whoa damn. That's some hot sauce.
I think this is about Joel's grief over losing his friend Shane
Oml my name is Shane!
Love this album so far. Definitely a different feel but its dope.
At the time of hearing this my girlfriend and I are going thru a lot and this song helps me realize how useless I actually am
Damn.....
❤️🥺
brasileira??
Love this song its got a Korn vibe going on!!!
Toyboyzink TV I was thinking with that intro riff I got a little I prevail/ Beartooth kick then it turned into a Korn/I prevail sound
@@ninjazombiestopper totally its a good song
@@ninjazombiestopper I don't hear any of these things. It's like a One Step Closer riff lol.
@Jason lovesABR Check out breaking down by I Prevail. That song near the middle gives me a similar vibe
Correction, not breaking down, but Come and get it!
This song has Of Mice And Men vibes and I LOVE IT
Alone at the midnight alcool drugs and amity affliction can grow up about my drama life ?
1st view From Chicago
🖤🖤🖤💚🖤🖤🖤
Joel's screams sound amazing on this album! As of the last few albums though, there's something about Ahren's cleans that just bothers me. I think he's an incredible singer, but it just doesn't hit me like it used to. I don't want to make it sound like I'm hating on him. When you have songs like Pittsburgh or RIP Foghorn where it seems like there is so much passion it makes you wish each song could hit that hard. It just seems like each song I hear him going "oooooo" and not a lot of anything else. Fever Dream though was very pleasant to hear.
Fever Dream was great. As far as i know he lost his range and he is not capable of singing like back in 2012 sadly
@@sweetlittlelebbian9032 That's unfortunate. His voice is incredible.
sweet little lebbian That’s strange because they sing songs from 2012 in concert 🤷🏼♂️
@@anonymouswombat9709 but in a lower key. Just watch his 2013 open letter performance and 2020. You should hear the difference in Ahren's voice
Vas despacio para no caerte en un mundo oscuro hasta encontrarla luz- Jordan ♥♫
Banda argentina, Jorda - Como arrancarte.
You know? I listened to this with at the crack of dawn with no headphones on. I sorta shrugged it off. But holy shit, this is better than I thought! I admit I head banged a little lol.
I fucking love angry Amity. This is sick.
I thought TDWP were born to lose
This deserves top comment
This
bump
tenaciousjoe24 exactly my thoughts 😂😂
I search it and found this comment 😂
The ghost scares me
This is fucking good. thank you.
the riffs sound exactly like something you'd hear in a wage war song, i love it
Aqui é BRAZIL porra 🤘🤘
You are wrong it s turkey :/ unfortunetly
Listen to this for 20 seconds then play Quantum Flux by Northlane. Fucking nailed the album bois every track is F I R E.
2:40 - 2:57 literally a Starset melody
fuck this song is so good
this isnt hitting me like misery did. I could just be my frame of mind.
Although Misery was different, I feel like it had a theme, a story behind it which made it so much better imo.
Misery was more techno if you will. It was an album where TAA wanted to explore. This album is a mix of all past albums. I do wish they could just make a straight album like the Chasing Ghosts/LTOTM again
You don't know~ what you need... oh wait wrong song
Feel like this would have worked a bit better as just screams all the way through given the guitar work. Still a good song.
Acending and descending my friend, otherwise it'll just sound like any other random wannabe metal song
Yeah
Alright alright fuck this is good
That main riff is not the traditional Amity sound at all, feels a bit odd mixed in with their regular style. Not bad tho
Ugh, it's a good riff but they don't go anywhere with it. It's tuned to Drop G# like Wage War.
now I have everything to loose, or is it everything to prove?
TDWP?
first!
Hmm...
This reminds me of Crazy Train. Heavy intro followed by wtf is going on here
Anyone else get some wage war vibes from the beginning of the song?
Wtf they poste new song the night of my birth day and sereosili live my life sucks
breaking benjamin vibes
little bit better then TDWP born to lose
Hell tf no.
Bahahahahababahahahaha booooo!!!!
yeh. it’s me. i wanna die
Kind of let down after the intro to be honest 🤷🏻♂️ still ok though.
There seems to be a glitch.. discontinuity is evident everywhere.. why is everything so uninteresting
Same
the drummer is a "Chad" he just dont fit in, horrible opinion on my
part, but that just how i feel, wish Ryan would come back, heck I liked
the drum tech playing better than the new guy @theamityaffliction
Born to lose really ?? ^^
Arthur Renson TDWP ain’t gonna be happy
Nah jk they’re nice guys
still trying to find a good song...
PANDA BLAZE same ...
PANDA BLAZE still searching for a bad one*
What constitutes as a good song bud?
All the songs are fucking amazing!! It's definitely another misery type album where half the fans are gonna love it and half will just say ehh!!
I know what you mean... Amity feels like they’ve lost their style... I miss songs like Pittsburgh and RIP Foghorn. Amity, where’d you go :(
I think amity can take it to the next level without Joel, he’s become more and more useless on each passing album. Just my hot take, but Ahren can scream just as well and he’s got a killer singing voice.
AscendingShogun Nah. If Joel leaves they don’t have anyone. Ahren is more useless. He doesn’t have the range he once had. Smokin too many damn cigarettes.
This album is the worst of all, we advance towards pop music, in which we find no depth of spirit. The measures are predictable, the structure of the music is very badly imagined. It has nothing to do with "youngbloods", or the old albums. Huge disappointment, I hope that the next album will be more expert, more metal, I hope that we will find choirs, and well-imagined melodies. This album there, is an album for teenagers, except that there are no more teenagers who listen to metal. Question yourself.
Robin B.F.C They are artists. They explore. It’s how you grow as an artist. If you don’t understand that maybe you should
Dude everyone grow up one day nobody becomes the same forever youngbloods is amazing , but the old albums is dealing from lose someone and depression they grow up as an artist they cant being teenager forever they already 30 .
@@hyunztarou7053 so, being 30 years old, is that an argument for making shitty music ?? Have you ever listened to real albums? Do you know music? I do not believe. The musical quality has worsened, in general when we progress we offer better music, and not verse-chorus-verse-chorus.
