Today is a huge day because I am picking up my new SeaArk Protege boat. This boat is a major upgrade from what I had previously. I partnered with @midkansasmarine on this boat to get it all rigged up and ready for year round outdoor activities. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for this rig!

#duckhunting - Sport
One thing I would consider adding on this is a jack plate. Really helps getting around some of the shallow areas and helps keeping the motor elevated and out of the longlines/anchor lines when diver hunting. In our group one of us has a excel f4 and the other has a rebuilt older starcraft that is a deep v but only about 8-12 degree deadrise so shallower deep v with a jackplate. Don't listen to all the people thinking this is a stupid boat for duck hunting. The starcraft can basically get into all the same places but can also be taken out on big water and used as a diver tender. Big boats really can be a swiss army knife and much more fishing/summer friendly than a jon boat with a mud motor. You will love setting your diver rigs out of this over the mud motor.
Jack plate would be nice, but I don't think ill need it with how I intend to use this rig. Plus it probably wouldn't fit in my garage anymore if I added it.
As a duck hunter you need (want) a boat for every type of situation, this is a badass big water rig and those windshields are gonna be life savers come late season
I think this is a heck of a late season diver rig. Windshield is going to be super nice when fighting chop or making long cold runs
I have a 2014 sea ark 1652DKLD. I bought it new and it’s been a phenomenal boat. I just recently repowered with a 40hp Yamaha. I take mine on electric only lakes, to limited hp lakes, to rivers, the bay/ocean. Sea ark boats are tough as nails!
Nice dude! You got the little boats for the marshes and this thing will treat you well for those diver hunts on big water. Or throw a yak in it to get to some spots off bigger water. Congrats on the new boat.
Little boats with long tails for shallow, 20ft boat for the big stuff. Now there is nothing I can't hunt.
My personal opinion I think the boat is perfect for what you are wanting to do with it . Perfect fishing boat , and the perfect bar for large lake and medium to large rivers. Not the best for going in flooded timber though.
Proud of you man keep up the good work.
For sea duck hunting/diver hunting be good for. As far as 25mph winds and lake Michigan definitely would recommend anything smaller then a 22footer. Still a nice boat though
Josh, #1 thing I would do right away is get a ram mount trolling motor rest for that minnkota, will save your butt if the motor doesn’t get fully locked and gets to deploy on you when ur on plane, not to mention it will completely save your trolling motors life span while driving down the road from wearing out!
good advice, have one on mine. something easily over looked but a great, cheap addon.
Drop a link for one that you recommend
Congratulations, look forward to seeing the new videos!!!
You’ve come along way since the beginning of the channel. Congratulations!!
Thank you so much!
Now you need a UFO layout boat to put that very nice tender boat...
Alot more options Josh...future is bright!!👍
Its actually interesting because I went the opposite direction. I went from a 20ft xpress center console to an 1850 with a tiller. Slick rig!
Awesome Josh, can’t wait to see what the new boat will bring to your channel and future, content will be fire🔥 congrats!
Heck ya Josh! Congrats now the fun starts!
Very very nice boat. You can do everything with it. I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of videos with it in the future. Don't worry about the people who don't like it, as long as you like it, that's all that matters.
Thanks! The people that don't like it just don't understand the main purpose of this boat.
Awesome good for you!
Congratulations on the new boat!!! Been watching you for a short while, didn't realise you were a fellow Kansasan.
Looks good!
Wowza Josh! That's quite a lot of boat. I guess we'll be seeing more fishing content this spring. Congrats, can't wait to see what's next.
Can't wait!
That’s sick!
I've had a Go light on my 1436 for a few years now and I absolutely love it, I think you will be very happy with it!
Good to hear!
Damn man this really is a great boat for big water fishing and hunting. perfect for what you intend to use it for
Congrats on the new boat, looks solid! Definitely give you some good peace of mind for getting on the water in wind/chop.
Wind shouldn't be too much of an issue now. Hoping for some awesome cold front hunts this season
That is awesome!!!! Congrats man!! U deserve it!!!
Thanks!!
Do yourself a little favor and go ahead and invest in the “battery tender” high voltage plug for the trolling motor. It probably won’t be an issue for a while but I know some folks who did have trouble with their plugs and had some smoke and melted wiring bc the factory plug gets hot with the amps these big trolling motors will pull. After I heard of the first 1 I swapped mine.
Killer boat!
Nice boat
That thing is going to be a beast on the reservoirs, congrats!
Sure is!
Congratulations
I love it. Only reason I don’t own a SeaArk is they had like a 1 year wait to build the boat I wanted when I ordered mine from a different manufacturer.
I think the windshields will be a savior and possibly a pain in the rear at times as well. When I say that I’m referring to putting out or picking up decoys. I don’t think it will be that way every time but I think there are going to be some cases.
Just have to use it to know how it will work best!
I have a decent amount of experience in sea ark boats and have used Lowrance electriconcs for close to 20 years.
I would be more than happy to answer questions or whatever.
The T Rail system is a great feature. I’ve got that for my Havoc and the options are endless. Nice rig
Nice rig be safe on the water
Thank you, I will
Love my sea ark. Although they have a gas tank filling issue. Thanks California
What is the issue?
@@OutdoorLimits its a pain in the rear to get it to fill up. Back pressure builds up and wont allow to take in gas. This newer model could be fixed, I'm not sure. I always have to unhook the boat and jack it all the way up to get it to take gas.
I have a 2023 SeaArk Procat 240, and have the same problem. Apparently there is a way to fix it but havent taken the time to figure it out.
Now it needs a couple halogen lights mounted to the front rails, for those early mornings. And fog cutting capabilities on big water.
Or for bow fishing
CONGRATS. 80gal livewell, 200hp motor and 3-4 batteries all at the rear? Good luck when that livewell has water in it!
That thing looks crazy! Some diver hunting coming up? Haha awesome man, looking forward to the content this coming waterfowl season!
I do like hunting divers!
Nice fishing boat! 😂
I didn't see a jack plate, does it have one? Top speed? Total weight? Thanks
It's morning here and my mate and I have lots of ducks to process
First thing I did on my Sea Ark was pull those stickers off the side.
Nice It's first week of the season here in NZ Loved to see the new toy and your thinking behind it We carry 1-2 layout blinds or boats on our G3 for access. Will you do this for accessing remote marshes on the far side of lakes and resovoirs?
definitely a possibility
Put tackle tray holders under the consoles
Time to come up here to the Great Lakes and do some diver hunting.
Always been something I wanted to do
I feel like this will be a great boat. I’d love to own one too but I need rod storage for travel purposes so that’s my issue
Still trying to figure that one out. Fortunately I don't need many rods in the boat for crappie fishing
@@OutdoorLimits if I solely crappie fished anymore then it wouldn’t be a problem… its now the catfish, walleye, bass, and crappie rods I need storage for so I can go further and not take up the entire deck
What brand are your courtesy lights?
Black oak
That boat is awesome but it's only your ultimate boat where I hunt on the Marsh areas on the great salt lake that boat wouldn't even get off the trailer I need a flat bottom and a mud motor but I definitely would fish strawberry with it
I agree. This is a reservoir/big river runner. My Four Rivers boats would work out there though!
@@OutdoorLimits if you ever make it to Utah I would like to show you a few spots that I have found over the year's
Not something I thought you would get! You can literally hunt whatever you want now though. You could even haul sneak boats out on it.
The possibilities are endless now! Layout boats for shallow stuff and this for the big waters.
Nice rig man! What happened to your other boat?
Sold it
I see divers!
100%
I sense some more diver hunting in your future as well.
You know it!
I was about to say. To get a duck boat for a couple of seasons then sell it doesn’t seem right 😂
Always room to upgrade as long as it makes sense
I absolutely love the new boat it looks awesome. One thing iam curious about is how much it was if you want to say that. Also will you just be getting a new one every year like the lake fork guy does but he is only sponsored and gets a new one and takes the older one back for them to resell. Is that the case with your boat? Otherwise don't listen to all the negative people that boat is awesome. I would love to hunt in it if i knew you and lived in Kansas.
Expensive
First here lol
It’s a fishing boat
Do y’all hunt that’s a perfect hunting and fishing boat! You haters probably don’t even own a kayak
I’d personally never own a duck boat with glass. I guess if you’re only using it for transport it’s good. But not good for marshes or shallow rivers. Very 1 dimensional. That’s a fishing rig or driving to your floating blind boat.
It's a big water boat. He has plenty of stuff for small water.
@@SomewhereInWisconsin I understand it’s a big water boat. TDB & Bankes make big water boats for duck hunting. Lots of guys run big water boats on reservoirs & rivers. What kind of blind are you going to put on this Seaark? They make nice boats. This boat setup the way it is, is geared towards fishing. Check out Barnie Calef or Sean Stahls big water duck hunting boats. Look at what GatorTrax is building for big water. All I’m saying is this ting is ok if you’re putting a layout boat in the water & using it as a tinder. Or parking it in a boat garage on a floater. But other than that it’s very very limited in hunting usefulness.
He's gonna haul everything in and hunt from shore. I'd guess his intention isin't going to be throwing a blind on it and hunting out of it. Like you said there are other options for that.
Just for transport. Boat blinds don’t work as good as blinds on the bank in most cases.
11k views in 2 weeks. That’s not good. Cut your losses sell now
In my opinion that’s definitely not a boat you want for duck hunting that is the worst boat you can get for that
You ever diver hunt big water? He's not taking this into marshes, he has two rigs for that. This thing will haul 3 guys and all the gear in the world to hunt from shore.
All depends on where you hunt and what you target. This rig is for big lakes and large rivers. Kansas winds are pretty brutal on the water
Right I run a Triton 2072 sportsman which is pretty much the same set up handles the big Kansas lakes with ease.
I disagree. I have a center console 2070 with a 150 and it’s great for lakes and rivers.
Where’s the decoys equipment etc gonna go???? Alright for fishing probably the worst “duck boat” I’ve ever seen
