可児高美術部と同人サークルCCP が1986年に完成させた８ミリ・アニメ、「 エスペランザ(*1)」のパイロット版とNGカットを編集した動画です。(This is the video which is edited NG cuts & Pilot film of my original animation ESPERANZA. Pilot film was made when I was 16 - 17 years old.)
＜当時の思い出　あらすじ風＞
1985年夏、文化発表会(いわゆる文化祭)での上映を目標に可児高美術部員有志によってある８ミリペーパーアニメの製作が進められていた。
パラパラ漫画しか経験のないスタッフにとって製作は難航を極め、完成は絶望視されていたが、上映だけは行おうと、作画を続けるスタッフ。
しかし、少しでも作画枚数を増やそうと粘り過ぎたために撮影が遅れ、現像を間に合わせるために急きょ名古屋の現像所にフィルムを持ち込まなければならなくなった。
徹夜での撮影の末、総監督の橋本は学校を休んで名古屋へと向かう。しかし、タイムリミットまでに現像所に辿り着けず、結局上映は幻に・・・。（後に現像されたフィルムも撮影に失敗していた。）
涙を飲んだスタッフだったが、翌年の春、大学生となった橋本は、リメイクを心に誓い、四畳半の下宿で黙々とリメイク版の絵コンテを切り始めるのだった・・・。
*1 完成版での正式名称は、エスペランザ(ESPERANZA：スペイン語で"希望"の意味)ですが、パイロット版製作時点では、正確なつづりを知らなかったため、ESPELANZAとなっています。

1. Which productions/franchises were the biggest inspiration for you while making ESPERANZA?
2. Which animators were your biggest inspiration?
3. Do you know any other independent animations? Convention animations or not. Maybe some of your friends made some animations too?
4. Are you still keen on animation, and have you made any other animations, or was Esperanza just a one-shot?
