That is a very nice collection. As a collector myself, I’m a terrible technician (I have fine motor control issues) and wouldn’t attempt some of repairs beyond light seals. I was given 2 Rollieflex T’s by my father in law and have always enjoyed taking photos. A couple of accessories you may wish to consider are: a 645 mask that fits in the back film plane and accompanying mask for the viewfinder, a new fresnel for the view finder as original is a bit dim, closeup lenses that fit on the bayonet mount, and a color filter for B&W. I typically shoot it looking down as a strap provides excellent stabilization, but I also have a pentaprism which slides onto the top after removing the hood. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
The fresnel is definitely something to change sooner or later. Especially the corners are basically grey. I have not yet tried filters for black and white film photography, just read about them. I think I will start experimenting with these on 35mm some day. 👋🙂
i love this kind of projects ! A few years back you coul really find this ebay lots everyday! i bougt myself a few boxes of untested/unwanted cameras for very cheap and still enjoy them today ! I really missed all those amazing deals, today they have become extremely rare
Yes, it is really a lot of fun -‚and I learned a lot about camera technics of the last century. But it is also very time consuming and took my about 3 month to end it finally. But if there is another lot like this, I think I will go this way again. 😁
Well done. Nice find. As you say, the key hidden cost is ‘time’. Researching, procuring, CLA, etc all takes a lot of time. Nevertheless you have landed a fantastic ‘free’ set of cameras.
I wouldn’t call it a business. At least the payment is ready Bad if I would take the time, I worked on these cameras, into the equation. This was really a very rare bunch of cameras, I don’t see regularly. Normally I just buy and sell very small amounts of cameras. More like 1-2 cameras a month max. But keep looking, maybe some day we find each other on eBay. 😁
