    How do you practice PT there in Australia via student visa route? I’m quite confused ehh

  • @christiepaguirigan7391

    This is very informative! I’m a permanent residence here in Australia and wanting to convert my license to practice physio. I’m looking at the Standard Pathway but not really sure if it’s worth doing it cause I graduated PT waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy back in 2000! 😅 And I have not worked in hospital/rehab setting for a long time as well. Thank you. Might try my luck 😊

    Hi , I am really appreciate you to share this amazing journey about how a physiotherapist from Philippine transfer to Australia. May I ask :how do you think about Malaysia physiotherapy qualification, would it pass the eligibility of Australia qualification requirements in the first step of standard assessment? Hope and waiting for your reply , thank you so much

    • @PTMEALPodcast
      @PTMEALPodcast  Před rokem +1

      Hi Arvin, live what I've said in the other video, I am not familiar with the qualifications of Malaysian Physiotherapists but I think it would be the similar pathway as Filipino PTs - The Standard Assessment Pathway. You can check out the process here: physiocouncil.com.au/overseas-practitioners/getting-started Thank you for visiting the podcast!

    i’m wondering if PTs in Australia could specialize in wound care like we do in the UsA?

    • @PTMEALPodcast
      @PTMEALPodcast  Před 7 měsíci

      I believe so. I've found physiotherapists/physio clinics where their physios offer wound management.

    • @PTMEALPodcast
      @PTMEALPodcast  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi! Thanks for watching! As far as I know, the norm now in the US is that foreign-educated physical therapists need to have a graduate degree (Master's) or higher to be equivalent with the current course work tool (CWT). I believe there are agencies that would offer to cover your transitional or post-grad DPT in the Philippines.

      I don't believe experience is mandatory. But you have to be a registered/licensed in your country to practice Physiotherapy first.
