In todays video I am installing a the new consumer unit for a Fuse box RCBO board with SPD at the bathroom project we have been working on. We carry out a full test on the property and discover some issues that need to be rectified. I also give you a quick tour of the new bathroom project that we completed

Banging install Mike. The miniature RCBO’s are brilliant but given the size of the consumer units even using the normal RCBO’s, you still have loads and loads of space. Cracking job mate 🙌🙌
Thanks Craig I must Amit they are rapidly becoming my go to board
Mike!! We are super super happy with out bathroom!! We are kind of a gray loving people and so so happy with the result more power to your channel and business!! Subscribed to this channel for some inspiration in the future for the planned extension. 😊
Thanks guys glad you are enjoying the new bathroom and looking forward to working with you in the future 👍👍👍
Just found your channel, great video and very helpful, thanks for sharing 👌🏽
I recently got that wera torque driver for free 👌🏼 love it !
Good effort like the vids keep em coming
The din rail mounted blanks are well worth using mate
Is that Lewis capaldi sitting on the sofa 🤣🤣💪💪
Hi mike. Loving the videos. As with previous comment is the spd now protected by its own rcbo. They weren't a few months ago and neither were the hager boards with spds pre fitted. Seems to be a slight change in practice
Hi buddy no as it stands now It is not 👍👍
Time lapsed most informative bit, testing ?. Other than that love the vids. Seeing how other sparks approach testing is always good to take bits away from. 👍
Noted mate I will do a video on testing at some point 👍👍
I've started just recently watching your vid's. I feel that I'm watching is an estate agent walking us around a property that is going to be on the market soon, waving his hands over there, telling us, that's where a light switch is going. When it came to this vid the electrical stuff was a fast forward consumer unit fix that flew by in a few blinks and: the testing, which was mentioned in passing, which we never saw. It wasn't covered at all.
The interesting isn't covered at all or is sped by.
Hi retired sparkie here,do like that board, need to change mine, not knowing what's what with these new boards, live in a grd floor flat,6 circuits, obviously need rcd,do I have to fit a spd, definitely won't be able to have a car charger,if that makes a difference,my eyes it's still good saw the customer playing you a song on his guitar ,😂😂👍
🤣🤣🤣 yes very good eyes he is a musician so puts lots of practice in
Regarding your board change it’s always best for a site survey first to really make proper comments on your own installation 👍
06:20 Never seen that before. . . is that a concentric cable that's taking L and N into meter?
Nice work 👍🏼
Can the Main Switch be put on the other end on those boards? I know some are polarity sensitive
To be honest with you I am not sure I will find out 🤙
Is the SPD now protected by it's own RCBO, I've seen this in other installs'. Also leaving blanks every few spaces for heat dissipation, controversal I know, what are your views on that. Great videos BTW.
Thanks for watching yes there seems to be a lot of confusion on that subject and there are some evidence that for it but for now until more research is carried out by the manufacturers I will carry on the way I am 💪💪💪
Cable tieing the neutral fly leads not affecting grouping; voltage drop???????
I've seen this comment a few times recently, so It would be great if there could be some clarification from the powers that be. Personally I don't see a problem with it from a voltage drop point of view considering these fly leads are only a few inches long and without being tied would be virtually just as grouped.
@@melodious1750 because if there’s a loss of supply of neutral they basically come into play, so maybe then it would affect it? Not 100 percent🤷♂️
SPD?
Yep spd
Hello mate... just a quick question if this fusebox RCBO would fit to MK box CU. or only for fusebox CU?
Need a hair cut and shave.....😱🤣plenty of room for growth....I am laughing doing two 66 space panel (consumer unit) I already have 60 separate circuits at present. So more than doubling the space. But here in the states I have a 400amp service and we tend to wire separate dedicated radial/branch circuits for lots of new smart devices.
On that fuse box you can get blank rcbos they make an even better looking board than using blanking plates - well that’s what I have heard from the other UK electricians. Top job. Better get back to mum and dad’s place.....they must be crawling up the wall.
