    It already exists. It’s called “All Hell Let Loose” 6mm WW2 rules. (Available on Wargames Vault). My initial premise was to turn Bolt Action into a 6mm scale game. I pitched them to Warlord just before Covid. They were very interested until they received a copy then they said they weren’t going to do it, because of Covid. I just hope they’ve genuinely done their own version and not nicked my game!

      Will have to wait and see, the changes they have made would defo suit a smaller scale larger battle such as there Epic games, would be crap if they take your ideas and not credit you in some way, :(

      @@GDWargames the bolt action ranges are better at a smaller scale, i wish they increase some of the ranges in the 28 mm version, we house rules a fix, same with movement.
      i know scales betwixt shooting and figures needs to be skewed for table top reasons, and a desire for smaller 4x4 or less boards, but some of us play larger games and a long range sniper shot from an anti tank rifle against an enemy character makes for a great surprise, same with tank destroyers hiding in the woods 54 inches away...

    I know they had something like this written towards the end of the V2 book as an idea of how to play larger games, so I wouldn't be surprised if they plan on making it more official in the coming years with V3.

    This would be an easy thing to do because they already have the excellent skytrex models or they could do a marriage with the superb Victrix 1/144 scale or Pendraken

    This new release reminds me of WH40k and the Ed 3 release. It followed the demand switching 40k from a skirmish game to an army game where more troops and vehicles were gamed and the rules were not as crunchy. For those who gamed it do you remember the steps for H to H in Ed 2?

    Might be willing to play if it uses the same scale as flames of war since I bought two armies back in 1st edition of that and then in my area the game flat out died but I still have the armies. Also need to find people to play with. Plus models at that scale are easy to get hold of by a variety of companies fairly cheaply.

      Hi, i think if they release it with there own strange 12mm minis they use for there epic range, i think a lot of players will use there FOW armies to play it, i know i will be. :)

  • @jonathanbirkeland1085
    @jonathanbirkeland1085 Před měsícem +2

    I don’t see them doing that, at least not for quite a while. They have too many 28mm models to sell and splitting their biggest community between scales would suck for the game. They can do it with their less popular games because, let’s face it, if you play a warlord game that isn’t Bolt Action you are in the minority and you probably have a dedicated game buddy or you provide the models for both sides.

    • @GDWargames
      @GDWargames  Před měsícem

      I did say in the next year or two, but i can't see warlord not doing it even if they just release a Epic Bolt Action set of rules, there not going to pass up a potential cash cow, :)

    Yes, and No, I wouldn't. The table wpu;d have to be epic. If they try to turn this into 40k or Lames of War (sorry, V.4) I'm not really sure whether II'll see it through, or bounce on over to Star Wars Legion. I absolutely love this game so, I would hate to abandon it.

    This is for smaller scales then? I want to see rules that make playing the game at bigger scales much more speedy. But no less complicated.. Apocalypse for bolt action so we can have literally hundreds or even thousands a side. Seems fitting given the continent and to some level world shattering nature of ww2. I want to see the true to life effects of squadrons of heavy bombers mass artillery, Or even naval bombardment opening up on hordes of infantry and armour, Give players some kind of idea or feel for the level of devastation that even 80-100 year old hardware can have in a short space of time. With massive dincounted bundles for it on the warlord store w appropriate periphrials.

    • @GDWargames
      @GDWargames  Před měsícem

      @powerwolf-vw8st Good idea, and it is possible to do that just increase the number of points per side to say 25000 and let each order dice activate a platoon, should be a fun game, :)

    i thought you needed one inf platoon for every other type of platoon in company,
    so that the force was always half infantry, so one tank, one heavy weapon, and two infantry needed to be legal... am i wrong?

    • @GDWargames
      @GDWargames  Před měsícem +1

      You are right thats how V3 will work, so you need a rifle platoon with a HQ and two squads, however if you were to scale it to company size then you would need a company HQ and two or three infantry platoons, for each of the other platoons in your force.

    • @DrakesHobbiesAndGames
      @DrakesHobbiesAndGames Před měsícem

      It’s one tank, one heavy and one rifle. Each rifle platoon unlocks one of each of the others, you don’t need a second rifle platoon before you want a second tank or heavy weapons platoon.

    • @GDWargames
      @GDWargames  Před měsícem +1

      @@DrakesHobbiesAndGames yes thats for standard V3 Bolt action, if you moved down in scale to 15mm, and up in army size then everything would multiply, so one squad in 28mm would be one platoon in 15mm, going by that in 28mm v3 you need 1 hq and min 2 squads per rifle platoon, but in scaling the game to 15mm company formation you would need 1 company HQ and min 2 platoons. hope that makes more sense, :)

      I’d love to play Epic Bolt Action, I suppose Warlord would have to make it at their current ‘Epic’ 12mm scale rather than FoW/Battlegroup 15mm.
      I think it’d still be a day one pre-order for me.
