Thank you all for your support and comments! I’ve added details and specs about the model to the video description.
Videos like this is the reason why I love this hobby. Thank you for sharing. 😊
So nice to see a scale model with a far more realistic flying speed.
OMG…..I didn’t know what to expect but I really didn’t expect this, that was phenomenal, the softest, slowest most gracious take off and landing I’ve ever seen, I was apprehensive watching this but soon turned to complete joy when it gently lifted. Outstanding work.
OMS not OMG. No gods. So it’s oh my science that brought this plane to fruition.
@@dukeallen432 try Oh My Gosh 😅
Congratulations, Ben! A beautiful maiden flight. Only one word really describes the C-47 you've created; "Majestic!"
All around great day. Still cant get over how effortlessly she took to the skies. Great job Ben staying calm on the sticks and bringing her back down as smoothly.
Such a glorious lady. She looks great, and the 3-point landings were primo. Even though I knew it was successful, I found myself holding my breath. Cheers!
Impressive! I really expected a longer take-off roll, but she lifted off as smooth as anyone could ask, and landed equally well.
So nice to see 3 bladed props!
Congratulations!!! Great flight!! God bless you
Bigger flies better! Onto the next project!
That overhead pass looked so real and must have been even more impressive in person. Fantastic work!
and the Dad giving a little chuckle was the icing on the cake!
Yeah, you're right.
It would have been unbelievable with a bit of paint😁
I love the tailwheel and left main touching down simultaneous and when it turns off to taxi back the windsock confirms light wind off the water. Perfect landing. You could probably get the kid up in it, but a little more wind and takeoff straight into the wind over the water. Don't tell mom and claim CGI if she does see the video.
Awesome scale looking flight!
Nice! My father flew a C 47 in the CBI during WWII in support of British, American and Chinese troops. They were known as Hump Pilots flying over the Himalayan mountains.
My grandfather flew on the same route! He was a crew chief and mechanic on C-46s, but before flying “The Hump” he trained in New York on C-47s for D-Day. He was transferred out right before the invasion.
Superb, Ben!
Masterfully built, expertly flown. Fantastic job everyone!
THAT WAS AWESOME! Seriously, great build. D-Day stripes and a few paratroopers falling out of it, would make for a show. Well done!
I’ve watched the flight a couple of times, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a model that looked so real in the air. Huge congrats!
Looks kinda small, 1/2 scale next? 😂😂😂
🤣😳🤣
Funny stuff right here! 😂🤣
i didnt know you knew about the c 47
What a gentle GIANT! NIIIIIIIIIIIICE Ben! 😁👍🛩
The best dc3 rc ever. It flies, takes off, and lands in a very softly way. I can watch the video over and over again. Great build. Kudos.
You're amazing, Ben! Congratulations on a spectacular flight. Your C-47 looks indistinguishable from the real thing in takeoff, flight, and landing.
Very scale like speed. Well done on the maiden flight on a beast of a plane. All that is missing is paratroopers jumping out.
Congratulation’s! Nice end to the saga. Love the scale speed, no more 500 mph C-47s!
It even sounds like a C-47‼️good job all the way around. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Big or small...first flights always, and I mean always put you of the edge of your seat. I am pleased you didn't leave you creative talents behind in California when you moved. Well done. Jim
That was such an effortless takeoff, can’t wait to see it at flite fest 🤩
Absolutely amazing flight that looked so real of the epic Warbirds. I am amazed how quickly it got in the air. So smooth. Thanks for sharing the video. I loved the encouragement “keep the speed up”.
Way to go Ben! Absolutely amazing! Congratulations!
Another amazing build Ben. I can not wait to see this BEAST in person. Congratulations on the maiden flights.
What else can I say but fantastic
Simply beautiful, outstanding prototypical flying!! Very nice job!!
Congratulations!!! It's huge, it's beautifull and it's slow. Great job.
Ben, you are a legend for sure! This is one of the best builds I have seen using good ol' foamboard! You and your family are an amazing bunch. Keep doing you, so glad to be able to call you friend.
Very stable and rock solid, well done great work
Proud of you, brother Ben! Job well done! What a beauty!
Its beautiful Ben! and the take offs.... EPIC! Well done sir!
Fantastic! Slow, Graceful and Beautiful. Nice work !
That lift-off was breath taking! Beautiful flyer, well done!
That’s awesome! All you need now is a 1/4 scale foam Horsa or Hadrian to tow behind it 😉
Gorgeous Graceful giant Gooney bird. Congratulations, that is a wonderful bit of design work. What a maiden. Thanks for sharing.
Ah, I see - a John Overstreet. Impeccable.
Congratulations Ben! Loved the sound as it flew over. Thanks for sharing the journey.
Perfect morning for a perfect maiden. All your hard work has paid off!
Super achievement.nice story with a happy landing.Greetings from the small country of Belgium
Amazingly realistic flying! Wow wow WOW (and what a beautiful model!).
Put a recording of radial engines and speaker in it. Absolutely beautiful bird. Congratulations.
Wooow!!!!totally crazy!!!!!!! I'm absolutely impressed !!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice "Rosinenbomber" - great build and flying !
Damn! It flies so smooth, Ben!!! 😮
Truly amazing work! And amazing flying as well!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Buttery smooth! That was awesome! Fantastic build! 👍
Awesome Maiden, Ben! That beast just floats into the air.
Holy cow man, that thing flies so sweetly! Such gentle take takeoffs and landings.
What a gorgeous aircraft. People that can build something that great and fly them os well have really advanced creativity. I love it.
Great job Ben!
Absolutely fantastic! Congratulations, and thank you so much for sharing this build. Greased those landings!
Oh my goodness gracious! She's an absolute floater! Congrats! Can't wait to see her at FF this year!
Talk about scale speed...!!!
First I thought "what a crude model...". But when I saw it take off and fly, I fell in love!
Congratulations on your maiden. She’s beautiful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Congratulations Ben!!!! 👏👏👏👏
Fantastic job!!! That thing doesn't fly, it lumberly floats in a generally forward direction!!!! Lol. Beautiful work!!
I've been on commercial flights that didn't go that well. Congrats!!!
Brilliant ! ! Well Done Ben . . . She flies Amazing with You at the Controls. . . Bob
Cant wait to hear your pilot's assessment on the flight characteristics:-)
WOW ! Absolutely amazing, your builds are always super. My Mother, brother and I flew in a C-47 from New York to Germany via the Azores in the mid 1950's to join my Father who was stationed in Germany.
Amazing job my friend keep flying every day. ✈✈✈🛩
So awesome!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Spectacular! Thanks for sharing!!
WOW. It floats on the air! Impressive
Größe und Geschwindigkeit passen super zusammen. Gut gemacht.
Vielen dankeschön
Oh yeah! That is sweet. I heard you got her up yesterday, so stoked to get to see it. Congrats on the great build and flight!!!
That's a wonderful masterpiece of engineering. The take off looked a bit by surprise, as it suddenly just lifted off ground and more power was given to ensure the ascend.
One minor remark, though: if you have a twin engine setup, it's benefit would be to eliminate prop torque by having them turning in opposite directions. These two engines/props, however, turn in the same direction...
I enjoyed every minute of this build. Thanks for sharing and congratulations!
Congrats Ben on the maiden! Always amazing to see your projects to the end!
Your reaction and response at the end of this video were PRICELESS Ben!! That encapsulates everything this crazy FUN hobby is all about.. The spirit of adventure and learning. The thrill of "can I do this". Amazing job Ben, and happy I was able to enjoy your enthusiasm through this video. Look forward to seeing more at Flite Test. That bird is smooth as silk. Well done..✈
Beautiful! Excellent Job Ben! You made it happen. Congrats!
Love the distinctive sound of those propellers. Very nice realistic flight of the old Gooney Bird. Good job guys. The reverberating sound of those motors through the whole aircraft on the fly by sounds like the drone of reciprocating engines. Nice landings. Now to add insignias to dress her all up.
Fantastic! Congratulations on a successful first and second flight. All of those long hours and challenges, your hard work paid off.
Congrats, Ben! THAT is what scale flight is supposed to be! What a gorgeous beast in the air!
YOU NEED TO BRING THAT TO FLITE FEST
A great and very large aircraft, super implemented and flown, I want to see more thumbs up for this project. .
Kudos to you brother. What an amazing journey! I felt your deep apprehension as you got her ready for take off. We’ve all been there but to put one that size up must be , almost overwhelming. Great job!!!
Awesome! Perfect and size and the perfect flying speed
Huge congrats on such an impressive plane and maiden! I'm also really impressed by your cheering section and ground crew - you're a lucky guy! 👍
As the words of the builder said, "I hope this will be the most boring and Univentfly flight I have ever had"
I don't know about Boring cause I loved it, and Univentful it was, awesome work and I look forward to more flights and any other type of stuff you do with it, it's beautifully and flew awesomely.
Congratulations Ben, awesome flight and effortless take-off and landing. Great job !!
Your beautiful C47 flies at scale!
The speed, the way she flies, it's so real!
Only thing is the landing gear... if it could retract in a way that it wouldn't be an extra weight for the airframe... I understand that it was not an option.
VERY NICE PLANE! The overall shape is perfect and the final result is GREAT!
Greetings from Brazil.
Amazing. This is your best build so far. When she took off, I was yelling to my screen and clapping. YESSSSSSS. she flies like the real thing.
Super Job. Wow was that exciting to watch it lift off and climb. Effortless. Spectacular flight of an awesome RC C-47 project. Well done.
Congratulations, so many long hours of work and worry. Wonderful job, you should be so very proud. Thanks for sharing. On of the planes I enjoyed flying in the most.
Spectacular! Really nice work, Ben and crew.
Great job guys. That is awesome!
I just commented on the Flite Test forum about this, but I have to give you props again..... absolutely amazing and inspiring!!!! LOVE IT
Congratulations!! an awesome build. your plane is incredible! You are an inspiration.
This is what it's all about! The friendships, humility, and embracing the passion for flight makes this gold. That combined with what makes a plane fly amazing: building it LIGHT! This thing looks like a real DC-3/C-47 in flight and it's all thanks to the LOW wing loading. I'd love to see some wheel landings with it! The full scale can't do three points unfortunately due to structural issues. Amazing work!
I'll work on the landings! :D Need to keep the speed up a little for that. Now that I know how far she rolls I can keep that in mind. :)
@@TheHarberHangar Your three point landings were beautiful! This plane would have no problem stopping on the runway you've got even from a wheel landing speed on touchdown thanks to it's weight. Can't wait to see more footage!
Ben that was EPIC!!!!! Nice work.
That was pretty cool to see Ben! I’m sure it was great for you too, thanks for sharing!
Super job! Flies great.
Very Majestic! great takeoffs, great landings, Looked good, As a fellow RC pilot, You done good! Thanks for this vid, You may have certain manufacturers wanting this, This was Cool!
Amazing job Ben just a perfect maiden!!
Beautiful flight Ben. Looks very scale like in the air! This is a big difference from the typical, "lead sled" war bird performance.
Awesome build 🔥 I couldn't believe how easy it took off and the landings we're sweet as well.
Nice flying and congrats on the maiden. 🔥👍✌️
