Yalls Turkey yelping while walking through the woods is a game changer …last season I was able to jump 2 mature bucks as soon as they ran off I would freeze and Turkey yelp …both bucks came right back to where they was bedded down ..one time I was scouting right before season and another time I had my rifle and was squeezing the trigger on the big buck and right before my trigger broke he darted back off….had another encounter on a rainy day rifle hunt I was slowly slipping around and yelping every hundred yards or so got within 40 yards of a decent 2.5 yr old 8 pt
Suggestion; Have a “green horn” QA section for our newbies and young hunters that are interested and maybe don’t have the seasoned knowledge at their disposal. Might be interesting. LOVE this content for us southern hunters! I’ve been drowning for years trying to make northern/western hunting styles fit our southern deer!!
Kansas bound baby! Maybe we'll cross paths. But yeah - i shot a 300lb 150 year before last, they will fool you. Being from Georgia, your gauge is WAAAY off. And for perspective, every 300 acres has a 150-160" buck on it, guaranteed. A 140" buck will look like a 120 relative to it's body in Kansas.
Let’s be real guys! For one sec , let’s be real n keep it real! I grew up barefoot as a child also but nobody walking barefoot when grown through briar patches and cane reed thickets and transitional pine thickets period! Not in the south, not in copperhead/rattlesnake country, not in 90 degree heat with ticks and chiggers n red bugs etc I’m not buyin it !
We did run into a guy back in November that was .75 a mile from the truck on public land that was hiking barefoot in camo while scouting. And he was not walking a well kept trail or road bed. It definitely through us off when we met that random hunter but we’ve had some listeners reach out after Kelsey’s episode dropped and said they do the same thing. We might not do it but I’m sure others to walk barefoot out there.

Love the Q&A
I’m trying to find episode 290 “calling deer the right way”…I’m not seeing it on CZcams. Can you share a link?
It’s not available on CZcams. You can listen to it on any major podcast listening platform.
Thank you
