I got to see them in 1978 with the B-52s at the Agora Ballroom on Peachtree St. - it was Album 88 benefit night; I was an Emoroid and we knew Rock Lobster from their local rotation. The Brains played a set, then the B-52s played a set, then the Brains played a second set and the B-52s played the same set again as they evidently had only one set! I finally got to meet Tom when he was playing solo shows at Sylvia's Atomic Cafe; he was always very kind and unpretentious!
Because I had that chance meeting with him that I described in the notes, I always had a spacial interest in the band. I wish they had gotten more traction.
@@oydave LOVED these guys! Peter used to make his guitar flash reflect the lights at me dancing. Miss him. They were all southern gentlemen. Froggy is one of best drummers I've ever heard and very nice person. Alan is an all around amazing genius of a human being. Can't believe I was not at that show, but I was in the back of Puttin On The Ritz there. THANK YOU!
I knew Charles and met Tom and Rick. All very nice guys. Miss them.
👍👍
Thanks! I really liked this band. They were great every time I saw them
This is a great album and Tom Gray was a very nice guy - so sad to hear that he passed away!
I didn't know until i was getting this post ready. Yep, he was a mensch. He's dancing under a different kind of light, now....

He wrote a song that will live forever!
Off subject but The Roys were one of my favorites. Got any Roys?
