@@bradyhayes7911 ya, having heard him live quite a lot during that time, Where The Light is" was really really in tune, which made me think that there was some amount of pitch correction in post production. I could be totally wrong though. That said, it's one of my favourite live concert recordings of all time and has an incredibly important place in my life 😬
My boyfriend is a keeper for introducing me to John's music, I'm hooked and this is one of my favourite songs!!!.
I'm pushing 40 (almost), I'm definitely in the friendzone and I have a friend who might see me in a new light if he gave me just one night... It amazes me how much I can relate with John's writing and music sometimes!

He’s really honed in on those live vocals. Saw him on search for everything tour and it was incredible. Most of the time he’s good if not better than the record, but with that naturalness where you can tell he’s singing live. Props Johnny.

Gotta be honest, I don't think the mix you are hearing here is what was played live. Watch his solo. He's clearly hitting notes that are not audible.
Also watch the official music video and then listen to this one straight after. It is almost identical.
@@MattRandallProductions There's absolutely a ton of post production goin on here; I wouldn't be surprised if there were multiple takes of the song, and while the audio was comped, the video was edited from one take, hence things not lining up exactly. There's also some background vocals that are coming from somewhere else, and at the top you can clearly see them all getting a count in, indicating they're playing to tracks.
Doesn't detract from the musicianship on show here, this band is full of world class musicians who are more than capable of pulling off a fantastic live performance, just a production choice for whatever reason.

@@johnvlasiou3222 Nah. The take in the video does not match the take in the audio during the solo, I spotted that one myself before reading the comments. Could have still been live audio though, with video comped from different takes. Certainly not questioning their ability to sound this way live.

I'd guess the music is indeed one take. But the shot you are talking about is a video insert from another take, but it's video only. The inserted video is not a perfect match for the music that is of from master audio take, therefore you see the sync error, which shows the differences in performances, visually. This could have been done to cover up some visual mistake, like the camera not in focus, some tech glitching in the video, or some lighting problem. The video insert is covering up something, but they had to suffer the sync error to fix the issue. Most people would never notice the sync problem, but you, sir, have a good eye. I work in pro video, so I can spot it too, but most people wouldn't notice at all. You should be a video editor; that's what editors look for!!!
