    Outstanding presentation. Clear, precise and tailor made for technophobes like me. My Safari is now 90 per cent faster and like a brand new desktop. Thanks Gary, you are a great teacher!

    Gary, yours is the most useful CZcams site I've ever found - on any subject. Well presented, too.
    What worked for me was deleting the data from 1,617 websites that had been stored data on my iMac.
    Thanks, Gary.

    What I notice with Safari is really really long load times after I close the program. Safari as of last week will no longer support viewing youtube videos in 4k without choking start stop choppy replay. Never happened before. It's feels like something major is running in the back ground, I used activity monitor to detect where the problem is coming from and I saw 20% plus cpu usage from both Window server and equal amounts for Safari which is normal from what I can see. I see no other programs other than Safari graphics(name maybe incorrect) function taking up 20-30 % cpu while replaying 4k video my total usage would be 40% sometimes and it just doesn't want to work without choppy replay. I switched over to a different well known privacy browser and all problems disappeared. I can close the browser and restart it in less than 5 seconds. Safari is over 30 seconds. really frustrating. I thought for the longest time my computer was just slow, nope, it's my browser not functioning properly.

    Facebook is painfully bloated on the Mac in Safari. After using FB for a while I need to quit Safari and relaunch it to clear out the garbage associated with FB.

    It works for most of my daily web, except Facebook. Is it normal Facebook use 1.5GB of RAM?

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Před 3 lety +1

      Possibly. It is a very complex page with a lot going on. Keep in mind that it may not *need* 1.5GB, but if you have that available then Safari may use that much to make the page more responsive. If you had other apps also asking for memory, then it may give less to that page.
