    OMG, this is so great! I graduated from my RT program in 1989 and worked in many different settings for over 10 years. Loved doing IVP's and working trauma. This is bringing back so many memories. I'd forgotten how much training RT's go thru and the level of knowledge we have. Makes me want to dig out my old texts and notebooks.

    I've recently switched to Xray/CT after doing only CT for 20+ years, your videos are super helpful getting me back into the Xray groove. Thank you for making such clear and concise videos! Much appreciated... I forgot most of the angles, over time.

    I just had my xray on my lower back. And I’m just wondering because she didn’t let me wear any protective gear. Is it ok not to wear any protective gear during xrays?

    I’m in my clinicals round and was taught in class that due to anatomy cutoff we can’t shield women for lumbar but for males yes .. but in clinic I’ve gotten dinged for not shielding ?

    • @xrayimaginglady2586
      @xrayimaginglady2586  Před 2 lety +2

      Each site can have different requirements. Some sites are actually not shielding at all anymore, for anything. It’s a lot to explain but the science behind it is shows that shielding actually increases the dose, because it can trap radiation inside the body.
      It’s tough because there can be a lot of variation from place to place. The best advice I have is follow the protocols at your Clinical sites and if you have concerns speak to your Clinical coordinator.

    wow I had X-rays yesterday and it took 1 mons the girl didn't check if I was lined up at all or she didn't use the wedge, I had to struggle to hold myself in the position. And she had me roll on only one side . Is this normal at all

    • @alexismartinez3275
      @alexismartinez3275 Před rokem +2

      Yes it’s normal it’s usually always only the left side.

    Is a chest x-ray taken 3 times in a row in a two-month period? Is it safe? And how long is the medically permissible period between one x-ray examination and the other?

    • @blacklistreaper5253
      @blacklistreaper5253 Před 10 měsíci

      I'm still a student but we were taught that 1 x-ray is equivalent to 20 flights as far as radiation exposure goes.

  • @topkgoo-sb4px
    @topkgoo-sb4px Před rokem

    I did an x-ray of my chest. My eyes remained open during the x-ray. Is there damage to the eyes.... and should we close our eyes during the x-ray?

    • @xrayimaginglady2586
      @xrayimaginglady2586  Před rokem

      Hi
      The radiation is focused on your chest area and exposure should not reach your eyes. Unfortunately closing your eyes wouldn’t stop radiation from passing through if was near them. However we safely take images of patients orbits/eyes all the time.

    In rpo are we doing a X-ray on right side? Need help

    • @231mac

      In RPO (lumbar), you're x raying for the left (downside) z joints.

    Why did you put a left marker on her right side of the body at 4:00? Sorry if this is a dumb question

    • @xrayimaginglady2586
      @xrayimaginglady2586  Před rokem +2

      Hello! Even though the left marker is technically on the right anterior side of the patients body, it’s meant to indicate this a left lateral. Due to the patient being on their left side.

      For an RPO the right side is down. The right posterior side of the patient is touching the table. We do center using the upside of the anatomy.
