  • You may have heard that silencer wait times are down. That’s good news, but it didn’t just happen by sheer luck. Knox Williams, President and Executive Director of the American Suppressor Association sits down with Gun Talk Nation’s Ryan Gresham to examine why forms are being processed faster and the massive amount of work the ASA has done to help this process.
Formed in 2011, the American Suppressor Association describes itself as “the unified voice of the suppressor community” and they exist “to fight for pro-suppressor reform nationwide.”

I put in a trust application for a SBR back in October and still havent heard anything from them. Looks like the people wanting suppressors are very lucky.

For an individual it's no different than a simple NICS check when you walk into a store to buy a handgun.. If you already own habdguns it should be approved on the spot!

I keep hearing about the faster wait times, but I have never seen them. Currently, I have items pending for just over a month now. Historically, the average for me has been about 8 months(no signs of that changing, so far).

217 days and counting for me. Single Shot Trust.

@@streetgrip Yeah, I think a few people are getting approved quickly, and since the consumers have no way of knowing the actual numbers, the suppressor industry has capitalized on it.

Keep seeing people online talking about these faster wait times for a suppressor, have yet to meet anyone in person that didn’t wait a minimum of 4 months …. 🤷‍♂

This whole wait time is a bunch of crap!!!! Some people are getting approved in a day or two. I'm waiting 4 weeks so far for individual. The ATF needs to start approving as they are received and not this random BS!!! You can claim wait times are down but for the majority of us they are not.

Well if you're working with the ATF you aren't doing a great job.
