Why on earth would Mourinho come back to the same toxic environment with majority of the same players that threw him under the bus the first time around??? The players could handle his strong criticism of them back them just like they can't cope with Ten Hag's strong management. There's are too many soft weak minded prima donas within this squad. I loved Mourinho tho. He always said finishing 2nd with United was among his greatest ever achievements throughout his managerial career.
I don't think it's the prima dona's that are a problem for Jose. It's the part where the fans and media, especially the likes of Gary Neville side with the prima dona's against Jose just because they don't like him and don't want him to succeed, that is the problem.

Unnecessary attack on Boyle and Rashford deserved that new contract based on his performance last season. You can't predict if a player will drop in form, and you can't say for sure he won't regain form.

Also that's not how sports work, everyone doesn't have a crystal ball kid. If that was the case Barcelona wouldn't have bought Couthino for 100mil, and Manchester United wouldn't have bought Antony for 85mil. Everyone is an expert with the benefit of hindsight.

2018/2019 - 10 goals 6 assists
2019/2020 - 17 goals 7 assists
2020/2021 - 11 goals 9 assists
2021/2022 - 4 goals 2 assists
2022/2023 - 17 goals 5 assists
So he had 2 bad season including this one. Now compared his stats to Saka who most have as one of the best wingers on the league and tell me how much better Saka is.
In between those double digits outputs he had a 4 goals season which goes back to my point that there's no way to predict that a player won't regain form. Now go find some moron to convince that your personal opinion and feelings are facts

Mourinho is still a good coach. But it wouldn't work the second time for the same reason it didn't work the first time - the type of football. Utd fans weren't actually displeased (some where, but they lived in cuckoo land) with the results....it's the fact that a third of the games at least involved parking the bus etc.
He was on the way down the last time. He most certainly IS now - for 5 years. I'm no fan of Erik (at all) but I'd rather pragmatically keep him than go down the nostalgia road with Jose.

You fans are sick... And when Jose does come then you complain about the style of play. The fans have contributed to this attrition at United. There isn't a coach alive that has the experience to take on the managerial role at United. With the exception of Pep, Klopp, Jose, Ancelloti. There just isn't any coach that you give the reins to without giving them time to settle. You get a de Zerbi for instance, he will have to figure it out as he goes along because he just hasn't been in a position as big as the United Managerial position is. And besides he will struggle as well so either way give it soem time and relax. Just be patient... ten Hag needs a right of reply until the end of the season. We can review things in the meantime. Mourinho won 2 trophies that is true however City and Liverpool were not the forces they are now, not to mention Arsenal. The two trophies we won, we were very lucky, outplayed by saints in a league cup final where we had an easy run in and europa league win where we beat Ajax under 12s and if it wasn’t for Guidetti missing an open net in the semi we would have been knocked out. Football was awful, there was zero progress whilst he was there. It wasn’t beyond the realm that United could win a league back then but we got nowhere near it.
The current state of that team means Mourinho is the worst possible manager you could bring back. He is a loose cannon himself.

When Mourinho wanted to get rid of players like Pogba he was undermined by the sporting director Ed Woodward, who by the way is an accountant and not a guy that knows football. That is one of the facts people overlooked. Either you trust a manager or an accountant. The choice, given their history in football should have been obvious. It wasn't for the Glazers who don't really care about the club but only the financial side of it.
