- We’re joined by the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and son of the late great John Lennon (and his first wife, Cynthia), to talk about the prospect of Eurovision being hosted in Liverpool, his (and the Beatles) home city, and his new album Jude - a nod to the infamous “Hey Jude” (written by Paul McCartney to console the young Jules amid his parents divorce). He’s just released a climate change song and earlier this year, he also recorded a cover of his father's “Imagine” to raise funds for Ukraine.

The way Julian's held on to his sanity and not become another rock music casuality is his greatest achievement.
He's done well that's for sure but I seriously don't think that he had that much of a choice in the matter. His mother was his rock helping him cope to become the man we see before us today. John no doubt needed her strength as well and without it we would not have many of the wonderful songs that we can hear today. I tend to believe that she was their rock and would no doubt be outstandingly proud of who Julian has become.

Julian is a fantastic human being.
So inspiring that, even though his mom is gone, he always tries to make her proud. You can tell he still misses her and that all he does has nothing to do with his dad. He is a great guy.
I honestly feel bad for John Lennon. His mistake led him to miss out on his son's life. He missed out on this sweet child that grew up to be this incredible man. A good man. Julian, you made your mum proud alright. May you have all the happiness you so rightly deserve.

He wants to make his *mother* proud. Good for him. She was there for him his whole life up until she passed. He's a credit to her.

You can tell, Cinthia was a great mother because in spite of his absent father , he always keeps his mother’s memory alive and sounds a very grounded and nice man.

i have alot of respect for julian, he no doubt had to deal with alot since his dad died, court cases suing his fathers estate, i am sure he loves his father, but...an example sean and John have the same birthday, julian posted on seans birthday last year and said happy birthday to my brother but he didnt say dad...we all pretty much knew why ... john left julian practically nothing in his will

Maybe I'm naive and it would be impossible to make happen but I've always wondered why the sons of Paul,John George and Ringo never got together to explore the possibility of them creating some great music together.
I was a teenage Beatles fan, but I have to say that Cynthia did a splendid job in raising a really nice fellow in Julian...and it might have been for the best though no one should have to go through the messy breakup John provided for his family. God's mercy and love to all.

Paul got some heat from some Jewish people when he first wrote Hey JUDE.
Jews are always offended by something!!!
But, why?
They thought he was mocking them in a song. Honestly as a kid in the 80's, I originally thought he was saying "Jew as well. Their manager Brian was Jewish. Paul would never do that.

That song was written way before the term Dude was used. It was first Jules but Paul didn’t want John to know it was really about Julian so he changed it to Jude.
@@sherrieh2062Actually Paul consulted with John on the lyrics, so John indeed knew it was about Julian.
Paul has said Hey Jude rolled off the tongue easier than Hey Jules, so it was changed.
I know it was absolutely wrong for Lennon to leave his son but maybe it worked out for the best look at this man with little or no help from his father he turned into a goog man thanks to his mom
I used to think he looked a lot like John ... but really, he looks much more like Cynthia (in my opinion). I think Sean looks more like John facially than Julian.
Perhaps John would have turned out more like Julian had he too grown up having his mother in his life.
Unfortunately Julia n Lennon has never gotten over his father leaving his Mom and him. That shows very clearly ...even now.
