Did you figure out the root cause? Were you able to fix it? if so, how much did it cost you?

I have the Honda rebel 1100 almost at 9k miles and I had the same issue. (Same motor as the African twin) I took it to the dealer and they cleaned the oil off and found the boot was the cause of the leaked. I only had to pay for labor which came out to be $180.00
