- das ist kein Hokus-Pokus und man muss es zumindest einmal im Jahr oder alle 12000km machen, entweder putzen oder tauschen. Ob selber oder von Werkstatt gemacht wird, ist ziemlich egal. man braucht dabei nur ein biscen Geduld und richtigen Schlüssel und Luftfilter! allerdings man muss es entweder ordentlich machen, oder von Fachmann machen lassen, jedem seiner Entscheidung!
P.s: in dem Fall habe ich den originellen Luftfilter von Honda verwendet.

Hallo Alex, es ist schon seltsam, dass ein Hersteller so ein tolles Gerät zum offroad fahren herstellt und verkauft und dabei die Servicefreundlichkeit vergisst. Offensichtlich will man den Kunden zur Werkstatt zwingen, dass finde ich etwas schade. 🤷🏻♂️
Aber es ist halt ein absolut geniales Motorrad und ich liebe jeden Kilometer, den ich mit der Maschine fahre. Vor allem das DCT hat mich beim Urlaub auf Sardinien wieder mal restlos begeistert.
Mach weiter so mit deinen tollen Berichten und Videos. Ich freue mich immer über Neuigkeiten von Dir.

Hi there 😅 it’s a half true what you saw and found out from this clip, because there’s always something about new bikes, which is not easy to work on and this is not understandable for an Adventure-Motorcycle! On the other hand, AfricaTwin is for example in comparison to Tenere700 is much complicated, and in comparison to many other bikes very trustworthy and durable.

@@roadcallsme All of the bikes that I have owned have been Hondas except for one. Changing the air filter on an '03 Gold Wing was probably more involved than the Africa Twin but, I did it. Honda has been my default bike, automobile and lawn equipment for many years because of their reliability and dealer support.
I agree that the first time performing the task is always the most challenging and would become less of a challenge the more often you do the job. You have my respect for doing it yourself. But, it still looks like a pain in the ass.
You’re Absolutely right 😅 it is a pain in the ass, there for a didn’t film the action, as i changed those 4 spark plugs 😂✌🏽

super informative video, but I want to ask if I can change the air filters on my AT AD Sp 2018 without removing the HEED crash hopper. because to remove it is a lot of work and time. Thanks in advance🤝
Hi there 😃 i don’t think that you can change those filter, without removing the crashbar! Because you need to dissemble the cover of bike, and it’s exactly behind the crashbar 🤓 however it’s easy to do, you’ll be able to manage it 😉 cheers - alex

Ehrlich gesagt bin ich gerade ein wenig schockiert was das für ein Aufwand ist. Gerade eine Enduro kommt ja wohl öfter mit Staub in Kontakt. Da sollte der Luftfilter eigentlich einfach zu reinigen sein. Aber dieser Aufwand ist ja monströs... das hätt ich von Honda nicht erwartet.
Grüße dich Markus 😃 ja leider Honda hat sich auch in diesem Bereich so wie Markt entwickelt, sprich eine Saison fahren und ab in die Werkstatt bzw. Honda-Werkstatt und alles machen lassen und natürlich gute Stundenlohn zahlen 😏
Trotz allem, weil AT zwei Luftfilter hat, und ich nicht in die Wüste fahre, komme ich gut mit 10k km einmal auf und zu klar 😅

Jep 🤦🏽♂️ ich sehe es wirklich als ein großer Schwachpunkt bei einem „Reise-Enduro“ und zum Vergleich, bei einer Tenere muss man nur Sitzbank abnehmen und zwei Schrauben umdrehen und fertig ist die Sache!

Hi there 😃 There are some other bikes out there, which are easier or friendlier to work on (like Yamaha T7) but also some others which are like nightmare 😅 so I’m not happy with it, but I’m gonna live with that. I believe the problem is, there are not many bikers, who works on their bike, so it brings the Honda to make such decisions 😏 however, thanks for your kind interest, cheers
Was für ein Schrott. Um an den Luftfilter zu kommen muss das halbe Motorrad auseinander gebaut werden. Wenn ich im staubigen Gelände unterwegs bin, muss das später am Campingplatz in ein paar Minuten erledigt sein. Da lobe ich doch wieder meine optimierte Suzuki DR 650 BJ 95.

Hi man 🙈 i believe i answered your question some month ago, but now i see here’s nothing! I am sorry for this.
Sadly no, you have to dismount the crashbar (doesn’t matter from which brand) at least half way to get those plastic pieces off.

@@roadcallsme Thank you, but I’m a little upset because the HEED crash bar cannot be disassembled in parts, but can only be removed as a whole - a monolith. Taking it off is a lot of work. I was already thinking about sawing off part of it 🤣. I’ll come up with something 👍 What if it works out 😎
