Conservatives, NDP demand answers on McKinsey contracts with Trudeau government

  • During Tuesday's question period in Canada's House of Commons, Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre and MPs from both the Tory and New Democrat parties demanded answers from the Liberals on exactly how much the consultant firm McKinsey was paid under the Trudeau government.
The firm made headlines recently after news reports highlighted the rapid growth of the company’s work with the Trudeau government. The government says it has awarded 23 contracts to McKinsey since 2015 that are together worth $101.4 million.
“The say they’re going to be there for the people most in need - like the $1,000 an hour consultants over at McKinsey, a company that received over $100 million an hour for work that public servants say was of little or no value,” Poilievre said.
Polievre and other MPs tied the scandal over contracts awarded to McKinsey to the impact inflation and cost of living are having on Canadians.

It was just no big deal buring that kind of money and she would say "It's about the climate emergency", as if that is a valid reason to lose 15 billion dollars of tax payer money that Canadians desperately need. To put it in perspective, there are Canadian communities that don't have running water in a country that has one of the most abundant amounts of clean water on the planet, and would cost far less than 15 billion to set up the basic systems to these First Nations communties.

Often in some neighborhoods - WET basements. What price some of those young people are paying for rent in this century while fulfilling an internship in their chhosen profession now is outrageous.
