Ich habe Doug seinen Kanal schon seit 2020 abonniert, obwohl ich kein Wort verstehe. Ich habe auch mit „Ja“ gestimmt, aber mit Übersetzung wäre es ehrlich gesagt schöner gewesen.

This craftsmanship is astonishingly beautiful. I've seen videos of his workshop before but this time I actually sat down for the whole time, actively listening to him. He's so proud telling stories about it and he even answers comments on this channel - I really wish he'll stay healthy while getting older so he can continue building more and more. He's not only a great carpenter, he's a great human being you can tell by just listening to him. Me as a heating technician obviously like good tools - and this workshop is full of it. I always regretted to not have gone into carpentry because everytime I work with wood I totally love it.

I was just wondering how Doug's had to have enriched the lives of so many tradesmen, business owners and most importantly maybe, families and individuals currently loving the products. I sure hope we get to see that Doug in the future is spending all the time he wants in his amazing shop. For someone like me that is insanely organized almost to an OCD level, his shop is extremely satisfying. People don't realize how efficient and how much money & time you will save yourself by taking the extra time to organize. Also save yourself a huge headache by buying quality tools. 1st things my grandpa taught me in the garage was Don't cheap out on tools, take care of your tools, & always keep your tools clean and they will always be there when you need em. Awesome setup.
I've never heard a smarter or better said comment in my life my friend. You are 210% correct. Keep it organized keep them clean wipe them down oil them. And they will last you a lifetime by the best you can the first time and you won't have to buy it again. Wahnsinn... ich bin sprachlos. Diese Liebe im Detail, diese Leidenschaft bis in die kleinste Ecke. Wenn der Stift nicht hochkant in die Schublade passt dann legt jeder normale Mensch den einfach so rein in die Schublade. Nicht Doug, er baut einen Einsatz damit die Stifte schräg in die Schublade passen. Das ist verdammt smart
Was mich am meisten beeindruckt hat ist Doug. So nett und gelassen, er sollte berufsschüler für 2 Wochen mit in die Werkstatt nehmen. Ich glaube da kann man viel lernen.

Im Prinzip kann man es wohl wirklich sein Lebenswerk nennen. Ich hatte auch gefragt ob es jemanden gibt der vielleicht seine Leidenschaft mal teilen wird. Aber wahrscheinlich wird irgendwann die Werkstatt mal aufgelöst. Dafür müsste man eine Stiftung oder einen Verein gründen und einen Makerspace ins Leben rufen um dieses Meisterwerk zu erhalten... Was einen am meisten beeindruckt hat, kann man hier eigentlich gar nicht mehr in Worten fassen. Die Liebe zum Detail die Doug hat ist schon einzigartig! Wie bodenständig er dennoch geblieben ist, ist beeindrucken! Ich denke mal wenn man dort ist selbst für Wochen oder Monaten man würde immer wieder neue kleine Details entdecken etc. All das als ganzes ist beeindruckend! Und das muss ich schon zugeben auch wenn ich nicht gerade der Handwerker bin und es haut schon einen vom Stuhl!

An jeder Ecke entdeckt man wieder eine Sache, die bestimmt eine Arbeitszeit von 1-2 Stunden bekommen hat, bei der jeder andere nicht einmal einen Gedanken verlieren würde, diese Sache zu ändern, Beispiel Griffe der Kappsäge, Standbohrmaschiene etc.. The level of detail you put in your workshop is simply unbelievable. I have never seen a painting booth that has the quality of a damn wardrobe! I mean, are you kidding me? This is just next level! Seitdem Du die Werkstatt das erste mal vorgestellt hast, folge ich Doug und finde immer wieder neue Details; Mehr noch: ich schaue ein und dasselbe Video mehrfach und entdecke jedesmal was Neues. What a fantastic workshop. Doug is such a great person, you can tell he loves working with wood. I love workshops that are so organized. Looking forward to the following videos. The only thing that would bug me personally would be the imperial measurement system. No one can get along with that. And the confusion between the metric system and the imperial system, no one can understand it.

Hallo Andre, die deutsche Berufsbezeichnung für seinen Job ist "Generalübernehmer". Doug hat extrem viel Detailwissen, ein begnadeter "Handwerker" und total bescheiden. Aber zu Recht stolz auf seine Werkstatt und sein Lebenswerk, seine Tools (mit den Shopinitialen). Wahnsinn welche Werte an Werkzeug und Material er angehäuft hat. Allein die ganze Unterbringung, die Ausstattung ist mit einer Million bestimmt nicht zutreffend eingeschätzt. Seine Ordnung, Detailverliebtheit ist phänomenal. Er schmeisst nichts weg weil er den Wert selbst kleinster Dinge für den Job kennt und ist superordentlich. Seine Lebensauffassung findet sich in seiner Werkstatt wieder, seine Seele und sein Selbstverständnis sind MEGASYMPATHISCH. Warum senden unsere Fernsehsender nicht eine Dokumentation über deinen Besuch bei ihm oder mach demnächst mehr Stories über so tolle Typen wie Doug. Ich beneide Dich so für den Besuch bei und die Zeit mit ihm in seinem Business. SOOO COOL !!! Grüße aus Münster

This was a fascinating tour of the man's shop and his experience as a laborer, carpenter, and contractor. Also, what a clash of cultures. This man oozes what America knows as Texas: sureness, gumption, warmth, candor, and unbridled eccentricity. Doug is a fine ambassador to your German viewers.

This craftsmanship is astonishingly beautiful.
I've seen videos of his workshop before but this time I actually sat down for the whole time, actively listening to him. He's so proud telling stories about it and he even answers comments on this channel - I really wish he'll stay healthy while getting older so he can continue building more and more. He's not only a great carpenter, he's a great human being you can tell by just listening to him.
Me as a heating technician obviously like good tools - and this workshop is full of it. I always regretted to not have gone into carpentry because everytime I work with wood I totally love it.

I was just wondering how Doug's had to have enriched the lives of so many tradesmen, business owners and most importantly maybe, families and individuals currently loving the products. For someone like me that is insanely organized almost to an OCD level, his shop is extremely satisfying. People don't realize how efficient and how much money & time you will save yourself by taking the extra time to organize. Also save yourself a huge headache by buying quality tools. 1st things my grandpa taught me in the garage was Don't cheap out on tools, take care of your tools, & always keep your tools clean and they will always be there when you need em. Awesome setup.
I've never heard a smarter or better said comment in my life my friend. You are 210% correct. Keep it organized keep them clean wipe them down oil them. And they will last you a lifetime by the best you can the first time and you won't have to buy it again. Wenn der Stift nicht hochkant in die Schublade passt dann legt jeder normale Mensch den einfach so rein in die Schublade. Im Prinzip kann man es wohl wirklich sein Lebenswerk nennen. Ich hatte auch gefragt ob es jemanden gibt der vielleicht seine Leidenschaft mal teilen wird. Aber wahrscheinlich wird irgendwann die Werkstatt mal aufgelöst. Dafür müsste man eine Stiftung oder einen Verein gründen und einen Makerspace ins Leben rufen um dieses Meisterwerk zu erhalten...

Die Liebe zum Detail die Doug hat ist schon einzigartig! Wie bodenständig er dennoch geblieben ist, ist beeindrucken! Ich denke mal wenn man dort ist selbst für Wochen oder Monaten man würde immer wieder neue kleine Details entdecken etc. All das als ganzes ist beeindruckend! Und das muss ich schon zugeben auch wenn ich nicht gerade der Handwerker bin und es haut schon einen vom Stuhl!

An jeder Ecke entdeckt man wieder eine Sache, die bestimmt eine Arbeitszeit von 1-2 Stunden bekommen hat, bei der jeder andere nicht einmal einen Gedanken verlieren würde, diese Sache zu ändern, Beispiel Griffe der Kappsäge, Standbohrmaschiene etc.. I initially did´nt want to click the video, because of it´s lenght. Well, without noticing i strechted my lunchbreak to an hour and eight minutes. This is just amazing. The level of detail you put in your workshop is simply unbelievable. I have never seen a painting booth that has the quality of a damn wardrobe! I mean, are you kidding me? This is just next level!

Da bleibt doch kein (Handwerker-) Auge trocken. Eine solche ÜBER-Werkstatt besichtigen zu dürfen ist wohl der Traum eines jeden.
Seitdem Du die Werkstatt das erste mal vorgestellt hast, folge ich Doug und finde immer wieder neue Details; Mehr noch: ich schaue ein und dasselbe Video mehrfach und entdecke jedesmal was Neues.

What a fantastic workshop. Doug is such a great person, you can tell he loves working with wood. I love workshops that are so organized. Looking forward to the following videos. The only thing that would bug me personally would be the imperial measurement system. No one can get along with that. And the confusion between the metric system and the imperial system, no one can understand it.

Hallo Andre, die deutsche Berufsbezeichnung für seinen Job ist "Generalübernehmer". Doug hat extrem viel Detailwissen, ein begnadeter "Handwerker" und total bescheiden. Aber zu Recht stolz auf seine Werkstatt und sein Lebenswerk, seine Tools (mit den Shopinitialen). Wahnsinn welche Werte an Werkzeug und Material er angehäuft hat. Allein die ganze Unterbringung, die Ausstattung ist mit einer Million bestimmt nicht zutreffend eingeschätzt. Seine Ordnung, Detailverliebtheit ist phänomenal. Er schmeisst nichts weg weil er den Wert selbst kleinster Dinge für den Job kennt und ist superordentlich. Seine Lebensauffassung findet sich in seiner Werkstatt wieder, seine Seele und sein Selbstverständnis sind MEGASYMPATHISCH.
Warum senden unsere Fernsehsender nicht eine Dokumentation über deinen Besuch bei ihm oder mach demnächst mehr Stories über so tolle Typen wie Doug.
Ich beneide Dich so für den Besuch bei und die Zeit mit ihm in seinem Business. SOOO COOL !!!

This was a fascinating tour of the man's shop and his experience as a laborer, carpenter, and contractor. Also, what a clash of cultures. This man oozes what America knows as Texas: sureness, gumption, warmth, candor, and unbridled eccentricity. Doug is a fine ambassador to your German viewers.
