- RETURN OF THE MAC! Pulling out my old friends modified Vauxhall Nova from its grave and bringing it back to life as it should! It was one of the most famous Max Power Novas from back in the day, the first Nova on 19" alloys, flip paint and also a C20XE Red Top Conversion! We hope to be able to bring the car along with us to shows, and show you guys that a little helping hand can go a long way!

Crazy I actually remember this car from the magazines growing up. So cool to see they are well taken care of and still hiding in someone's shed
Think I still have one that this car was in definitely remember it
Same here I had this car on my cell wall in feltham YOI back in the day
Love it 👍
I remember it to
I was going to write the same thing
That's an EVO5 bumper and Sunny GTi R hood scoop innit🤣
I’m watching from Japan, been stuck here for 14 years. So glad I stumbled on this channel.
Oh bro fast and furious is over you can come back now, you went too deep 😅
😂😂😂
@@JamieWalker-pc6nd haha you telling me.
Aww she's still beautiful 😍...my teens and early 20s were dominated by the max cars and scene. God bless her and the guys and girls who keep the vibe alive in 2022
Fantastic to see this running again and hope they bring it to next year's Max Power Reunion
I remember drooling over this years ago! Great to see it’s still in 1 piece and still working. Get it back on the road and show these “pop and bang” boys how modified cars should be
lol, get left in the dust by anything with FI and a tune these days
I disagree . I'm from that era and allways liked OEM Pluss only the most nerdy nerd should be able to tell it didn't leave the factory that way .
How can you drool over this. It’s shit.
Drooling over a Corsa? 🤦🏻♂️
@@seechim it's not a Corsa.
Im 40…. In a messed up society we live in today, back in the 90s… the car scene brought so many together! Great video, great car… I cant begin to count how much was spent on it! But it wasn’t cheap!
Man, Most of us must remember this, I love that i keep seeing all these relics pop up still alive after so many years, Its a Key part of english car culture IMO
Its nice to actually still see the max power cars still around, growing up as a kid looking at all the magazines and looking at all the body kits etc in a1 motorstores catalog as a kid, wow 23year ago
Oh my God it's like a kind of retrochav time capsule. Horrifying and awesome at the same time. The fridge in the passenger footwell is amazing and the twin exit exhaust. Body-wise it's like some kind of a Corsa / Integrale mashup. To have survived at all is remarkable, to have survived perfectly preserved is mind boggling
Its been garaged. How is it mind boggling it survived? Have a day off @hydorah
@@1990JohnG That's what's mind boggling, it's been built then put away safe and sound, not sold, then ragged around. How about you a day ON
@Breath of Fresh Air Agreed. I'm not knocking it :-) It's a little slice of cultural history
@@hydorah 😂 ok sunshine
@@1990JohnG haha no worries
Unbelievable...piece off history right there....i had a nova gte back in 99...i felt like batman driving around in that thing at only 19 years old,and woow the girls loved it😉😋
It's like a little time capsule.! Absolutely brilliant put a huge smile on my face
That’s been done tastefully still looks good today
That thing is sic as fuq. Can't believe it would be just as much in spec with today's cars. Solid.
Wicked vid, brought back some memories this!! Rememeber this car well back in the day, i had ever mag. Good memories
When cars where cars love the nova shape can’t beat box arches
This is my first video, and what an introduction. Great to see an old Max Power car being brought out in to the sunshine again.
And simply brilliant to see a bunch of mates getting together to help and support each in a shared passion.
THIS is what it's all about. Nostalgia, getting the boys round all together, cleaning her up, rollin her out, firing her up and re-living the good old days. That Clifford alarm sound brought back some serious memories for me too, they were the alarm to have! Brilliant vid. Enjoyed it a lot.
Love seeing all these max power cars poping back to life 👌
I remember this car from max power days... I thought it was terrible!! But I've sat here watching this with such a smile on my face and I'm so glad it's still about and it still lives!!! These cars are living breathing things!! As we grow,we realise it's not necessarily all about personal taste but the passion and I think we can all get on board with that!
Thanks for the show all!
I was the 2nd genuine owner of PROJECT THUNDER. The yellow Lotus Carlton.
Remember this car as it was on the cover of Revs Magazine, with Sammi the Revs Girl on the Cover. Going to have to go into the loft and dig that issue out for a read again. Do hope this comes to the reunion show next year! Brilliant Video fella.
Totally agree about the Mental Health, us men do need to talk about it, my car is my happy place!
I remember this 1 very clearly as I was in hospital reading about it. Awesome car.💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely love this ... Seeing the cars , coming back to life... Again.
Great era it was.... 90s ..
And mentioned mental health at the end. For guys!! We do kinda get forgotten as we age.
People forget we were mad buggers back in day... 💯💯👌👍👍🤙👊
Brilliant. Couldn't stop smiling. Built my Westfield with my Dad 26 years ago. Stays with you forever. Such a great thing to share. Lovely it started and ran after so long.
I was just grinning all the way through this
Love this. Takes me back to my modified Corsa and some of the best times of my life. People joke now about the looks, the body kits, silly sized wheels but it was of the time.
This is epic, actually made my day seeing its been kept in one piece and still mint. That's epic
Nice to know that cars like this are still out there ,and when they were last used parked in the garage ,and not left outside to deteriorate ,and then like lots of things thrown away
Legend has it there are some still on McDonald’s car parks 😂
I totally remember this little beauty when I was younger. I would Steel have it to this day
Awesome, we were all at this😀 my mate did a mint Corsa delsol wide arch with 306 headlights, was Subaru sonic blue till he fitted lambo doors and gold green purple flipped it. Still got my final fling, and IL never sell it,sti type R in yellow, best £6.800 IL ever spend 😁
I remember this car was the reason I wanted a nova when I was 17
Back in the day, I also had a red top A-Corsa. I was smiling throughout the whole video while it brings the memories back. Nice one, thank you for making and uploading this!
Gotta love the old Novadose days I had two of them, a white 2 door saloon and a diamond black GSi I thought I was the nuts. 🤣
Front clip: Nissan ,Pulsar GTIR bonnet scoop, MKII VW Golf head lights, Mistubishi Evo V bumper with lamps, no splitter and wheel gap for days hahaha love it!!
That sound as it was turning over took me straight back to the 90s and my Astra GTE 16v!
Love how some lads have kept hold of them. What I’d give for my cossies back
Those Red tops are bullet proof. Such a great engine. I put them in mk1 Astra gte’s and a mk1 Astra van back in the day. Complete with neons also 😂 the good old 90s 😂😂
I've just got my 205 GTi back on the road after a very long time and I think I had that sort of grin on my face as well. Beautiful car I remember it being in the mags 👍
Super
The mighty nova (none standard 🙏😁) lives on . That's 1 cool car
Still looks soo good even now 👍
Crazy Crazy - I can still see myself reading this very magazine! I had a Saxo VTR on 17inch alloys at the time and was super jealous of this Nova!
Awsome. I remember tv's like that one. They were what everyone dreamed of. I carnt believe how small they are. The red top engine is a real gem. That car is Still a kick ass even now.
I remember reading about that car. Mental seeing it again. Thank you for the footage.
Actually brought a tear to my eye seeing this little beauty fire into life and the overall joy these gave in bringing people together.. Still have the poster of this little beast somewhere from when you were featured in Max Power mag.. Just next level cool this car. ❤️
Love the story of how it was before work carried out then it was transformed & when it was top of its class at max power show & too how it’s been hidden away all those years let’s hope you get it back to its forma glory great video respect to you guys
Love videos like this old skool retro cars hiding away, little gem!
Brilliant after all these years and looking and sounding great. Still a very relive that car today.
channels just randomly popped up after watching my usual motoring ones. i remember this car from the mags growing up. loved the video. hooked already!
I remember this car. Lovely to see it still in that nick. Fair play lads. Cheers for sharing 👍🏻
This has brought back so many memories ! This the courtney turbo green nova , the silver lotus nova in northern ireland reg A16VOO, Andy jeffersons nxi6789 Black turbo gsi he was the first 17" mim raffino ...the list goes on ! Thank you 😊
Fkin hell I still have that magazine. That's a nostalgia trip right there
Over the moon seeing that this still exists. I was in love with this car when I was a young un.
so cool to see that this car still exists 👍🏻👍🏻 big respect to the work he put into this car
I remember seeing this a show and it made me buy a nova and want to buy one again after seeing this video
Great to see this vid.. I my self own a Cavalier Turbo, but last 4yrs it's been kept in my lockup, and sort of forgot about.
It wasn't until Summer just gone my mate who also stores his Astra GTE in their, got me out the house up to lockup but we would just stand and talk, more than anything.
But I decided to see if the old girl would start, so we changed battery over and I turned key over, and it was cranking over but very fast!? but wouldn't start...and then after few mins
It hit me, I forgot I took the sparkplugs out 🤦♂😂,
So put plugs in, and then turn of key, she fired up, and I can honestly say she slightly tapped for couple mins if that and then she purrrrrd like a kitten.. even my mate was shocked, for how long it had stood, we where expecting her to tap her ass off. . . but what a great feeling it was.. and in that moment every shit I had been through with loss of family & friends, and how I've been feeling, just went away.. I felt so good smiling like a Cheshire cat! . . But I haven't been up since then, as I have many days I just don't want to do anything or be around folk. - but my mates that are brothers 1 has Nova GSi turbo, the other has Astra GTE turbo... and they kept saying we should get them back on road for car show or meet. but hopefully one day, I'll get the old girl back the road.
After all once Driven Forever Smitten...
How are you doing now ? All the best . Pete
Know what you mean mate.Hope your feeling better now.
Best wishes Mel
Nice to see all the novers coming back out all the old ones from the From the Max power days Can't be um nice to see him coming back out Should do more maximum reunions
The nova was by far my favourite
Gotta love a nova bring back a classic
This is the early 2000s brings back memories
Awesome throwback to simpler times.
I wish all the maxpower cars were kept in similar or better conditions. Would have been epic to have them reunite. I had all the magazine's back in the day. Still got some of the posters. Memory lane ✌️
15 years and the tyres still full.....fantastic
I'm 31 year old now and remember this on the redline and max power... Such a sick episode
Blast from the past!! Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Oh my days. I wish i still had my MkII Uno Turbo i.e. that i was rolling round in back in the 90's. These cars made a generation. Love it.
No way! Lancys Nova!! Memories of Cruise Cheshire flooding back! Mark North's Corsa, Wills Celica... Amazing times... Would give anything for one more cruise to Southport or River Side 🤣👌
Good vid and great car from back in the day....the main takeaway from this vid is that little fella doing a cracking job cleaning the window surrounds and wheels....top drawer!
Beat me to it mate . Get them involved and keep family together . You can't turn the clock back with family like you can with the car . Detailing the car is really important , too .
Wow that's brought my teenage memories flooding back. First car was a nova and bloody loved it. 90's Vauxhalls were awesome. I even have now a 97 MK3 astra as a weekend and fun car.
Great vid man, love to see mental health being promoted too 👊🏻. I totally remember this car on front cover, good old days 👍🏻
Brings back memories of my teenage years - great to see this still about
Great to see that car up and running after 15 years 👏 😀 👍
This just put a massive smile on my face seeing this car after all these years hidden away. love it!
Absolutely fantastic beautiful thumbs 👍 👌 😀
I remember that one so well an it still looks so good ! Love this series of discovering all the cars that made the scene from my childhood 👍👍👍
I had that picture on my wall, novas was my thing back in the day
Not from there but that's a throwback definitely. Awsome to see it getting a revival
So so cool, as soon as soon as I saw the pictures I knew the car, I miss my GSI, thanks for sharing!
this is one of the sickest looking cars ever oml
Good to see it again, when cars were built, seen this at a few shows back in the day love it
I'm almost twice as old as I was when this came out. I still love it and I don't care.
Great job chum. Smiley face time. Well done.
Wow amazing can’t believe it’s in one piece I remember that car from Max power live 2003 or 2004
I've got the max power magazine with this on 💚💛❤️
I'm 41 now, this took me back to be 17, lying on my bed in the army block, looking at these cars and wishing I could have them, so had a mid life crisis and bought a s2 escort rs turbo 😂😂
I actually remember the Nova, I used to have a massive stack of max power magazines
Very quick start After 18 years 👌🏻.
That Fridge was keepin them 90's beats FRESH
I left mine on the drive now ive got a hell of a job getting it back on the road to see all my old mates from the day in their old stuff if theyve still got them
What a blast from the past. Nice to see its still around
that car is the bollocks, ive never drove but my wall was covered wall to ceiling with max power posters and i used to knock around with my mates down merry hill with the boy racers in the 90's i bloody live by there now
Mint that. Nice one.
A old old mate had a lime green one back in the day. Pimped up
This reminds me of a gold 205 gti I had back in 2009 had a fridge in footwell 3 18inch Sony xplod subs vibe 6x9s ps2 TV screens and the rest
What a car..Great job getting it running needs to be driven again..
That's very cool... I remember that car from when I was a young teenager, well before I could drive... max power was the thing.
I'm sure I've pics of it somewhere when it was in a working progress, before paint.
Madness soon as I see I knew it was that car.. Wow mind blown
Amazing discovery
Amazing! Bringing back all the Stockport cruise memories!
wow i dont like many maxpower era cars but this looks absolutely amazing. looks like a mix between a lancia and a lotus carlton
second i seen that thumbnail my childhood just came back to me and that infamous max power front page
So many memories looking at cars like this, bring back the max power era. My first car was a nova 1.2merit saloon lol 😂 but she was my baby . Miss those days
Don't know why this popped up but it brought back memories. I was a valeter in a Vauxhall dealer in early 90s. My mates were the mechanic apprentices and fans of max power. One had a nova that he fitted a turbo to and the other had a mk2 cavalier that he slammed to the floor, channeled a transmission tunnel and stuck a senator engine and gearbox (3litre straight 6 iirc), he sold that to a guy that put a volvo t5r engine in and promptly blew it up. He then got a mk3 cavalier and covered it in body kits and ICE but did nothing to 1.3 engine so it was slow as treacle. Guy crashed into him and he hadn't told insurance about the mods so we spent an evening stripping the kits off to get it back to standard. He then got an Astra sport (mk3 iirc) which he still owns and keeps immaculate. Went to a few max power meets with them.
