i just saw the video on "why is south africa still so segregated" . it is a pity that the comments were turned off because the video is FULL of lies and inaccuracies , and i was busy pointing those out and giving some background on the claims made there. white people are NOT oppressing black people, like the video claims. there are reasons for those people living there like that, and it not white people making them live like that, but the government. sorry that you can not get the facts of the real situation. you always look so exited to come here, and this video must be a real downer, but it is still a good place to come and vacation in. as is the case with many of the videos on africa that you've been watching, there is the side that you don't get shown, and you should not even consider moving to africa unless you have checked it out properly. take care.

This is not ancient history, it's a current and lived experience which is well documented and those who lived through the brutality of apartheid are still knocking about. The gaslighting and historical negationism often by beneficiaries of slavery, colonialism and its systems of subjugation and oppression apartheid included will not cleanse these legacy issues. The scars are too fresh and raw to be treated with such flippancy. The pretence that those conditions (structural inequality) were not created and did not exist pre-1994 is farcical. The failures of the current regime can be viewed and critiqued in their own context i.e. what have they done in the past 28yrs to dismantle and redress the systematic oppression of the past 300yrs under colonial and settler regimes. Its a matter of time before negationist start denying Mandela was incarcerated for 27yrs fighting injustice in his home land at the hands of the 'white' minority government and that Biko was brutally murdered by the apartheid government and Chris Hani assassinated by 'white' supremacist? Make your own video about the other side picking scabs like Helen Zille saying colonialism wasn't all bad & all the other tropes about the 'dark' continent.
