    Would you please comment on position of the patient during dermal fillers and neurotoxin injections. Some trainers insist not to recline the patient and most training classes place the patient in a high straight back chair. The student injector seems at a disadvantage to find a stable position of her or his self especially at some of the training classes. Thank you for your excellent professional advice. DE

    Thank you Dr. Pearce. Very informative and clear. Our clinic uses BD syringes for lips as well as other areas. A technique that was learned from Dr. Arthur Swift out of Canada. Are you aware of his technique/injections with BDs?

    • @DrTimPearce
      @DrTimPearce  Před rokem +1

      Yes we know of the amazing Dr Swift. We don’t often use a Bd for lips as it’s just a bit easier to change the needle more regularly in the standard syringe. But all techniques have their place in the world of aesthetics. All artists have their choice medium and tools.

    Dr. Tim. Thank you for all the helpful information you always give. Our practice recently had a patient complaining of pain in her lip after two weeks of the procedure. What do you think the cause of the pain is? Could it be a vascular compression/VO after so long? Thank you.

    • @DrTimPearce
      @DrTimPearce  Před rokem

      Lips are not really a place for compression. And too far gone for VO
      Inflammatory / infection / trauma to nerves are possible. But it’s impossible for us to diagnose as we do not know all the story.

    • @Camille_Anderson
      @Camille_Anderson Před 6 měsíci

      It's often recommended to use lidocaine to numb the lips as they are very sensitive. Some fillers have lidocaine in them to further ease the procedure.

    Dear Dr.Tim,
    My apologies for multiple silly queries. I’m an IMG who is going to get settled in the uk and I’m a doctor with profound passion towards aesthetic medicine. I have few doubts, It would be greatly appreciated if you could clarify.
    1. As an INternational medical graduate , soon after GMC registration after passing plab 2 - completing skin viva mastery course 18 months (as gmc registration is mandatory I couldn’t take up the course right now and I’ll be taking this as soon as i get gmc registration) -- am I eligible to work as aesthetic practitioner without getting my first nhs job or is it mandatory to be in nhs job while doing full time aesthetic practice ?
    Currently as a first step I’m planning to take BA(hons) aesthetic practitioner course in UCB while I’m waiting for my plab 1 results. Is the course worth it doctor? (Given, my aim is to become aesthetic practitioner in the uk -and not intrested in getting into speciality training and becoming a consultant)
    Earlier in another comment you have mentioned that I am eligible to work as full time aesthetic practitioner after completing FY2 and getting full registration. After that is it ok to quit job in nhs and focus full time in aesthetics or I must stay in nhs job and work as a doctor Inorder to practice aesthetic medicine.
    Thank you . I hope you will clarify my doubts 🥹
