    I inject lips similarly to Julie. I found that last portion about the thin lips with a flat Cupid’s bow - I like how she explained to the patient about the journey and used a cannula to add volume to the body on the first treatment. Genius đŸ‘ŒđŸ»

    I tend to use both techniques to achieve what my patient and I picture when it comes to the results. Vertical injections help me create a crisp and defined lip border or to ad height, but horizontal injections give the volume and plumpness. I absolutely concur with Horne, you should combine or use different approaches to get the wanted result and treat every individual lip differently.
    Nice video Dr. Tim.

    I am surprised to hear that numbing cream can be the one that makes the lips swell. Makes me wonder about the filler as it usually has lidocaine in it. Also shocked to find out that Julie has been diagnosed with breast cancer, second person this week I hear of someone having BC. I got interested in her injection technique recently. Hope he makes a speedy recovery 🙏

    I don't want to clearly look like I've had injections- just for upper lip lines to be diminished. Should I seek out an injector who's lips aren't clearly injected themselves? Or does a professional understand these subtle differences even if they themselves have chosen a look that's clearly "done"?

    Vertical injections were not suitable for my lips. It left tram lines for weeks and gave me no plumpness .

    I was a patient that got this technique and I hated it on my lips because it causes my lips to instantly migrate, I went back in immediately to get it dissolved and still had the projected duck lip look for almost a year, it was so embarrassing, would never personally use this technique again..

      To coin a phrase, "techniques don't ruin people, injectors do."
      It's got to be the right volume, right product, right technique for the individual patient, and all of that is clinician judgement.
      You can easily ruin a face with a horizontal injection too.

    She is really right on, she is an epitome of Lips Diva Artist!!
    I like it when she is always about patient safety as well.
    Beautiful woman too.
    Very informative from two experts.

      But I can see that they look injected. Don’t we always want a natural looking lips even with filler? I also notice how long her phitrum has become. I wonder if it’s filler weighing the upper lip down. I wonder how her original lips look like. I definitely believe filler can weigh lips now.

      @NaturalInjector Pƙed 2 lety +3

      @@Dandelion_flight this is a very interesting point being that she is very known in the aesthetic industry for lips. A lot of ppl do want the natural look, to look as though you didn’t have your lips done, but there are indeed some people who don’t mind looking like they had their lips done.

    • @Dandelion_flight
      @Dandelion_flight Pƙed 2 lety +5

      @@NaturalInjector Hi Emily, :) Yes I agree. Personally I do like to look as natural as possible...for me main reason is just to plump them up a bit so the wrinkles go away and they look better that way. The thing that troubles me is if filler really weighs the lips down and pull the philtrum longer, as filler do have weight. Like eg Goldie Hawn...i can't help but see how weird her lips and surrounding lips are when she speaks. xx

    • @NaturalInjector
      @NaturalInjector Pƙed 2 lety +3

      @@Dandelion_flight Hi! â˜ș Filler can alter the philtrum area, especially if it migrates. I’m not sure if that’s what happened with Goldie Hawn as she is older and when we age that area gets elongated from aging but yea, Goldie’s lips look “done.” Not sure if you caught my latest Vid on Lips 👄 but would love to know your thoughts on it!

    Julie’s lip technique creates the most beautiful volume without looking “done.” I had an injector that actually created a hematoma above my lip that lasted several weeks. It was frightening looking. I went back and had some laser treatments because it was so unsightly. I eventually after several months had it dissolved by another injector. The new injector kept telling me there was nothing to dissolve but I showed her white papers where material was found in the face and lips long after it’s supposed absorption date. I showed her before pictures of my lips as well. The injector was actually shocked at how much my upper lip changed for the better after dissolving filler.

    • @DrTimPearce
      @DrTimPearce  Pƙed 11 měsĂci +3

      She doesn't, but you she uses multiple other methods to reduce risk- main one for me is the depth of injection, depth checks, small volumes per pass of the needle, and proportionately high number of vertical injections- there are some down sides to this, mainly quite a lot of injections with associated bruising and swelling, but VO risk is not high in my opinion- Julie reports zero VOs in her career so far.
