Carriage locking lever for the Super 7 is high on my 'to do' list, together with a solid tool post to replace the top slide when not needed for taper turning. Looking forward to a visit from Santa.
Thank you George, that's very sweet. I have been thinking about a solid toolpost too - cutting the 60' degree angle was the first time I used the compound way back since cutting the bogie bolster pin thread! Let me know how they go - the locking lever was a lifesaver, but I realise I missed out some info in the video so will make a part 2 of the same explaining a few things.

Thanks Paul, I only now realise I left off the bit explaining WHY I was making those pins to check the axles! In my defense it was very cold indeed in the workshop!
This was very interesting. We have never thought of locking the axis on the Centec, we will have to give it a go
Hello again! Yes, I think it is mainly because my Centec has alot of wear in the middle, the table and knee are able to rock around and move a tiny bit - locking them down makes the world of difference.

Thank you, I'm slowly getting more confident with it. I do have a rear-parting toolpost that I use from time to time but it's got a god-awful boat tool holder and I can never seem to get the centre height correct..

Like your channel mate. Can you do a vid on/or explain as a reply, the carriage locking lever? My ML7 is missing one. Did you make or buy it? If I were to make it, what are the specs? That would be my first lathe project after I clean it up/paint it. Perhaps I could just get one on eBay, IDK. I just love ML7 content.
