I know many football players with torn meniscus and ACL, yet they are afraid of barbells.
I honestly believe that every athlete will benefit from deep relatively heavy squats - if he has the flexibility and great technique. Has literally only positives. My friend was a professional batminton player and he also did atg squats.
I would love to see more football-focused S&C videos! Thanks guys and keep up the great content.
Do you have any specfic questions?
@@sikastrengthIf there is any negative impact on agility of you have very strong legs?
@@sikastrengthupper body training, seems to me like they are quite weak upper body wise (obviously you dont want to be big but they dont seem strong compared to bw), idk it seems like a lot of wasting time when it comes to footballers s&c, rarely do i see someone just squatting, max sprinting, doing plyos and basic lifts in the gym its always some ultra specific thing with a ball and/or band and they always speak of injury prevention but they do things that a grandma should be doing for training not an elite athlete earning potentially millions upon millions
Running and plyos innit
Great stuff 🙏🏽
Thank you for this
Everybody should squat, they will age much better
I'm glad you brought up the Nordic hamstring curl because I was contemplating mentioning that everybody should do them
Would be interested in a video on ultra marathoners.
Lots of older people get into running, and an ultra marathoners are disproportionally older than other recreational athletes.
My father is one such, and while he has completed several races over 62 miles in the last 8 years, his ability to perform is rapidly declining going into his late 50s.
Hey Fitz. I know you struggled with savage shin splints training for your squat run challenge. Could you do a video on shin splints , relevant strength / recovery work for it. Obviously there’s lots of generic videos out there on it but I like your guys athlete focussed approach . Thank you
He used the term soccer at the beginning 😄
Because he’s Irish. Football in Ireland is Gaelic Football, but soccer is also usually called football
@@userunknown3761 Exactly right!!
When I see CR7 videos doing leg raises I cringe a bit, a double BW squat would do them all good.
first i love messi
In second place...france
