Decided to play some Reina today. Haven't done too many ranked videos and I know a lot of people would rather see her than Hwoarang loool. Enjoy!

I love the style of Reina,but goddamn do I hate playing against Reina player's so tricky and this aggressive style of tekken suitts her perfectly 😂
I love the impression that Reina is simple but in reality playing her is difficult cause your really need to utilize all her tools to an extent.I actually just hit Mighty Ruler w/ her and let me tell you the grind was insane as this is my first tekken. Really had to lock in. The occasional mirror matches helped me find other rhythms with her. Using her more unorthodox moves too has really helped keep things fresh and opponents guessing.
I don't think its only reina i think its all the Mishima's like that (except jin he literally have free electrics)
@@MP-gy7uwyeah but Jin’s electric after df2 is punishable asl like the rest if we’re being critical here. further more reina can df3 into a perfect electric/hellsweep or a mid mix with her 1,4 and 1,3 after wave dash. All the mishima are complex yet have tools to make them succeed without too much execution.

I love watching lotus play ranked because he calls out stuff the other person does and what he messes up
as a tekken God reina main, you got hella potential brody. just gotta utilize all sentai options (the grab is OP) and moves that put you into heavens wrath. and i’d recommend a different juggle option after df2, you can get sooooo much more
i play reina too.. put a brotha on 😭 especially with combo potential
I really enjoy Reina myself. She’s one of my favorites along with Lee, Kazuya, & Steve.
I main Hwoarang and loved that you played him so I could watch and learn. I just started playing Reina. Time to rinse and repeat I love it

Tekken 8 is my first fighting game and i main reina. It took me 1month to grind mighty ruler she is not hard as some other char she is ez tbh. No flex but as a 54 hours/week worker lmao

I agree with the assessment of Reina. She seems simple until you play her. Not the most difficult, but certainly not the most braindead. Imo at least.

Gonna try and do more games. Been playing Reina more or less day 1 and while I had fun it's been a struggle. Especially with how I learn. It's been incredibly difficult to be decent, and been on a drought lately.

It’s alright man. It’ll get much easier with when you get more and more comfortable with your characters and the fundamentals of the game
You’ll reap the rewards with the practice. That’s a guarantee

Hey lotus, just a tip from a mishima player, try playing on right side, its a lot easier to get electrics/wavus when you're first trying. Its will help you get the timing then you can go back to left. I know doing electrics arent all mishimas have to offer and you hate players that just have execution with no fundamentals. But it is a great tool and more importantly looks badass. ;)

I play raven and his wave dash isn’t hard either. I just flick my d pad in a qcf motion but it’d be nice to have reinas easy mode wave dash
I can do them on P1 side I just don't consistently practice or ever go for them. She doesn't really.. NEED any of that until you get to a pretty high level so I'm pretty lazy about my practice with her lol
@@versatilelord8893 i play kazuya,reina and jin. The difficulty of all their wavedashes are exactly the same. Jin only has an added down button, wich doesnt really change anything execution wise. So i dont understand why u think that ravens wave dash is harder.
@@versatilelord8893 for me reinas wavedash is harder on dpad because i sometimes fuck up pressing df at the same time(f gets pressed first) while qcf is much more natural and impossible to fuck up on dpad.

So that’s what I ended up doing with it. Long sleeve white shirt and jeans. Black eye make up, black hair.
Checking out the cast list for this game is insane. Xiaoyu voiced Haruhi from high school host club. Asuka is Shroedinger from Hellsing ultimate. Law is the English VA for Kento Nanami from JuJutsu Kaisen, and Reina is the Jap VA for Kugisaki. Alisa is Lucy from Elfen Lied. Victor is literally Monsieur Hood from the English version of Shrek. I won’t spoil the rest of the list as it was an absolute trip spending the day customising the characters to another their VA has shared.

You need to figure out that trap move Reina has in heat where she throws her leg up and if they hit you it turns into big damage

Only thing I miss from tekken 7 was customization options, less hit stop on tornado, and Jin’s stance low
Reina doesn’t have a whole riding launcher but both FC DF4 and FC DF3 both launch on normal hit

FOR ALL OTHER REINA MAINS IN THE CHAT: i’m tekken God so hear me out- to get EWGF waaaay more consistently, you don’t have to do the DOWN input. you can do forward into DF2 and it registers the same. hit the lab and see. you’re welcome
Most Reina players just ff2 in sentai the whole game and don’t use electric lol. You can interrupt all of her options except the power crush which unsafe. It’s better to duck the kick out of sentai tho because it’ll be a trade although you interrupted it.
Once you do this they’ll be forced to go for lows and grabs.
I most definitely agree with you. I don't know what it is about Tekken 8 but my retention for it has way outlasted 7

Reina’s heat smash from her heaven’s gate(?) stance is a low and pretty good.
Reinas Down Forward 3 or 4 is the best mid in my opinion, I do most of my combos that way, also down back 3 into 1+2 really useful.

This is a great roster but I haven’t found a character with the play style I like. I have tried Steve Leroy and Shaheen. Now I’m trying Lars. I hope Miguel gets added and see more from past characters added
She is one of my fav characters to play. Got her to blue the other day. After rising 1 go for 3 because it's guaranteed!!

as a newer palyer ive been hard stuck garuy for a while mostly because of her and jun, specifically whith reina i'd say she teaches you the importance of sidesteping players moves
Reina Sen 3 can be ducked and is launch punishable after that. Once u do that they will most likely stop doing it and do other sen move but those can be side stepped except for the low i think. Against Jun just duck jab her izumo so u dont have to guess what she will do. Her izumo can be entered by (1,1), (f1),(1,2,2),(f3,2) and (u1). You can duck the (1,2,2),2nd hit of (f3,2) and launch punish accordingly. Hope this helps u in getting out of early red
I wanna play reina but my main rn is feng and I'm fairly new to actually trying to be good at tekken. Itold myself i need to get decent at tekken in general.before i test put another character.

So if youre plus frames lets say +12(random number) and someone elses frame attack startup is lets say 10 frames... Does that mean they hit or does that make their hit become 22 frames ... Curious how that works bc some moves are more safe at +30 frames due to distance. Or is that what safe frames mean

It would be dope for you to be the only high skilled Reina player seen here win rate pass the blue ranks is basically non existent I think it’s because nobody plays her enough competitively like really figuring out all her moves and when to use them

She's easily the most frustrating character to fight. Its just endless pressure from weird angles

Also what contributes to disconnect bc theres times where ill go for the rematch but itll disconnect me from the server (ps5) i relaunch the game and it works fine. I hope my disconnect rate aint high bc the server bc ive only ever quit 1 game out of maybe 400 games yet i get denied alot. 1/400 is .04 so at most a 2% based on not seeing 1% or decimals

@@codred84he means "perfect electrics" the ones you get guaranteed after counter hit. You need electrics in neutral at a high level

I've been a Dragunov main since day 1 with a little bit Law also but I want to learn reina but I have no idea how to learn her when I was learning law and dragunov it took me way too long and I need a bit of a quicker way to learn characters.... Any ides would be Helpful. THANK YOU!
If you struggle to learn what buttons you should be pressing, you can look up some players who main the character. If you struggle with execution, then nothing beats repetition until you make progress. Might not be very informative, but it's all i can say without knowing your process
@@av34life when i was learning Law I would just do every move like 10 times until i eventually learned and remembered them same with dragunov the only problem is it takes a while
@@DIABOLICXZZ with reina, you only need to practice mishima related things until you get the hang of it and figure out the timing of her sentai exit into df1. Outside of that, it's all about figuring out the utility of the moves. The hard part is learning what to use and what to forget about. After that, you're pretty much good to go.
Edit: you learn as you play when you figure out like 20-40% of the movelist
perfect showcase of how you can get a character to decent ranks with solid fundamentals. your combo's were way off, almost no mishima mechanics and still plowing through purple. i don't mean that in any way offensive, i think it just shows you don't need the "fancy stuff" for higher ranks

Oh no I'm with you 100%. I am NOT a mishima player. I don't have the execution or the optimization, but just play a simple game of Tekken and it carries you a long way.

Is Reina easy to play??
She is not an easy character to play, but she does have some easy moves that can be used by low-level players. However, she becomes more difficult to play at higher ranks.

@thatperson9750 While you may not need to start with electrics, you will eventually need to learn them to progress to the higher ranks. However, it is possible to make significant progress without them.
I think she can be simple to pickup if you don't try to learn everything all at once, but she is a difficult character to master. She's harder than a lot of other characters in the game, but not quite on the level of a character like Kazuya or Bryan imo.
